About this property
Spectacular Mount Hood View Home--Sleeps 10
Our luxurious and comfortable mountain home is located on 10 quiet acres at the base of Mt. Hood. With 3,500 square feet and two living areas to spread out and relax, our modern, single story house is ideal for families or group retreats and meetings. Our professionally decorated home features vaulted ceilings, 3 fireplaces (1 each of wood burning, gas burning, and wood stove), and a spacious, fully-equipped gourmet kitchen. The dining table seats 8, but can be easily expanded to seat 12 or more. There is an attached two car garage, which includes a 240 volt plug-in for an electric car and a workbench for ski tuning. The house was extensively remodeled in 2006 with environmentally friendly materials and appliances, earning it the distinguished LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification award. It was also featured in Oregon Home Magazine.
The house has an unparalleled and unobstructed view of the north side of Mt Hood. Half of the property is wooded and the other half is a large open space to play or hold a summer event. It is located in the quaint town of Parkdale (pop. 300), which is the end of the line on the Mt. Hood Railroad and a favorite stop on the Hood River County Fruit Loop. Parkdale offers a full size grocery store, a brew pub, a museum, and is surrounded by apple and pear orchards. It is located 25 minutes from Hood River, 20 minutes from Cooper Spur Ski Resort, 35 minutes from Mt Hood Meadows, and 45 minutes from Timberline Lodge. In addition, we are only one mile from Mt Hood National Forest where hiking, mountain biking, fishing and water sport opportunities abound in summer.
