Luxurious and Spacious Mountain Chalet

Our Chalet is in the heart of Government Camp. This house is a beautiful 3 story mountain retreat with lots of windows and a view of MT Hood. You can easily walk into Government Camp, or to the lodge at East Ski Bowl. There are plenty of entertainment options within this house: New flat screen smart TV in main living area, a TV, shuffleboard, corn hole, lots of games and a card table in downstairs bonus room. This chalet also has a large gas fireplace in the main living area to warm you up on cold, snowy days. Wireless internet is also provided throughout the house.
This chalet is kid friendly and would be a great place for a family reunion. We have a kitchen table that seats 10 people and a counter seating for 3. The kitchen has granite counter tops, an appliance garage and is fully stocked with dishes and bake ware. There are 2 bedrooms/bunkrooms on the ground floor with a bathroom, large bonus room, TV, shuffleboard and many kid friendly games. We also have a washer and dryer in the basement for renters to use if needed.
This chalet has French doors leading out to an outside deck to enjoy the sunshine on sunny days.
In the front of the house you'll find parking for up to 4 vehicles depending on snow conditions.
This is a perfect set up for a family get together, or 3 couples with kids wanting to spend a relaxing week together.

Great Home in Government Camp

This home is perfect for a large group, the house is updated and has everything we needed to cook meals in and also be able to walk to Charlie's and the Ratskeller. Loire and Jim were very responsive and great hosts, thank you!

A great house near the heart of Government Camp!

A group of friends and I stayed at this amazing house for two nights and it was a perfect location to relax at after a day of skiing. The house was just as great as the pictures look and the location was just a quick walk to Charlie’s and the Ratskeller for apres-ski. I would definitely book this house again!

Great house in a great location

This is my second stay at Loire and Jim’s awesome house and I can’t say enough good things about it. The house has a great layout for a large group and is on the end of a quiet cul de sac near Ski Bowl. Everything about the house is nice and it had everything we needed, plus the quick access to the main street in Government Camp was very convenient. They responded quickly to my questions about the house. I will definitely stay there again!

Great home for groups

We had three couples plush our son and it was perfect for that. There are three showers and a bathroom on each level which made accessibility for getting ready. The main area is comfortable for feeding a group or playing games. It was nice having the separate living area, especially if you have teens with you. Location to the ski resort and town could not be better.

Great location, good for large groups

If you're looking for a large place to stay that's close to Ski Bowl and away from the busy downtown area, I'd recommend Moose Chalet. The house is large enough for several families, and the kitchen is well stocked to handle a big group. The home was very clean and had modern appliances. There was a misunderstanding with the owners, but they took care of the problem and communicated quickly w/us to try and remedy the situation.

Most fabulous stay

The property was beautifully presented, easy to live in, handy to all amenities. Photos accurately reflected reality and we so enjoyed the views from the lanai. Great House for large or multiple families at Mt. Hood

We spent a long weekend at this home in December. The house was as described and was in great condition. It was nice to have it decorated for the holidays! The kitchen was well stocked. The living room furniture was very comfortable! The location was great and although the tubing hill tickets were sold out, it is an easy walk to the tubing hill at Ski Bowl. If you are planning on going tubing at Ski Bowl, buy tickets in advance!

Wedding 2024

Stayed here to prepare and attend our son’s wedding at Ski Bowl. Plenty of room for everyone and a well stocked kitchen. The whole house was well stocked. Weather was hot and there is no AC and the upstairs was about 88 degrees, the fans came in handy. We survived and it just happened to be record heat the days we were there.

Christmas in the mountains

Our 3 generation family of 10 stayed here for the holiday. The house was perfect for us. The teens had a place of their own in the lower level while adults could enjoy the main level. The main level was big enough for all of us for game nights and football watching. We loved that the kitchen table could seat us all. Kitchen was beautifully stocked and house was super clean. Thank you for decorating the house for Christmas for us!

Plenty of rooms. Loved the large table to share mealtime and game night. The game table downstairs was a hit! Needed a wine opener. Luckily someone had one. Other than that, plenty of plates and glasses! We will be back!

Great, large family house

We spent 6 nights at Moose Chalet with our extended family of 9. Good location, short 5 min walk to Town. Our married daughter, husband and 3 kids stayed in the lower level which worked out very well as they had privacy and it didn't matter if their infant, 3 yr old or 5 yr old made lots of noise or needed some space. Grandma and Grandpa and our 2 non-married adults took the top floor bedrooms. The middle floor of kitchen, living room area is spacious and well appointed. A perfect house for our ski vacation.

Wonderful stay in Govenment Camp

We stayed at this beautiful mountain chalet for a weekend in January to celebrate my husband's 50th birthday. House was roomy and clean and had a nice "ski equipment" room at the entryway. Kitchen was a little on the small side for a large party, but had everything you might need for cooking and a cute coffee area. There was also a very large table for big group dinners surrounded by huge windows for looking at the beauty outside. We especially loved that it was walking distance to both downtown Government Camp and Ski Bowl East. The owner, Loire, was great about checking in and making sure things were going well.
