Wonderful hosts! Super kid friendly! They had a pack n play, crib mattress, high chair, toys, hiking backpack, child locks, baby gate for the stairs, etc. All of which was amazing for the 7 month old we brought. The home was beautiful, clean, and super close to the rest of Door County. We would definitely stay here again!!
We were looking for a house near some family and friends who were also staying on Chapel Lane. This house was perfect, we were a 5 minute walk from them and 15 minute walk, or a 5 minute bike ride from Baileys Harbor. The house was very clean, the pictures do a perfect job of showing the house. We had 8 people and all slept comfortably. Also communication with the owner was very quick. He even let us check-in early which we were very appreciative of. Thanks again!
The home is in a great area very close to the lake. It’s only about a mile from Baileys Harbor which was awesome. The home is well furnished with games and all the things you need to feel at home.
This is a great VRBO home and location on the quiet side of the peninsula. Plenty of space for all ages, indoor and outdoor. Lots of extras included and home was very clean!
The property was very clean and neat upon arrival! Had everything we could need to hang out at the house and was a very short drive to restaurants, bars, and wineries! Host was quick with responses and check-in/check out process was nice and easy! Definitely recommend!!
We had a great time! The house was clean and conveniently located. The beds were very comfortable as was the couch! The only thing is we wish we knew ahead of time that we needed to bring our own toilet paper!
Wonderful stay at a great property in a great location! Very clean and well kept house. Plenty of room for the eight of us. We walked and biked to the quaint Baileys Harbor. Sitting on the 2 porches enjoying our tasty beverages was very relaxing. We could even hear and see lake Michigan!
This home was beautiful, well kept and felt like a home - not just a hotel stay. The decor was very welcoming. All the things listed as being there, were there, like toys, towels, games, books, nice patio furniture, etc.
patios were great to relax and have dinner on.
We had a couple questions and the hosts were very responsive. I would definitely stay here again!
This property fit our group of 9 perfectly. We enjoyed the outside decks for evening relaxing as well as the back yard fire pit. Clean house with perfect amenities. Tad bit farther from town than I thought but no big deal. Highly recommend
The house is in a great location just about a mile from many of the central areas of Bailey’s Harbor. Given we were towing around a lot of kids it was just far enough that we drove into town but would otherwise be easily walkable/bikeable if you are up for that distance. The rooms were spacious and great for our two families. The kids loved the bunk beds and the backyard play area and apple trees were lovely. The fire pit was also a fun evening activity, typically this is an additional fee to use wood which is coordinated w the host.We happened to have a snafu with our check in and didn’t get the info for accessing the property until we reached out to the host. Matthew recognized the error and promptly corrected it, and offered us late check out and use of firewood to compensate which was a nice acknowledgement of the error. I expect this is a one off and the info w check in once received was very comprehensive.A charcoal grill was available for use but there didn’t seem to be supplies for grilling (e.g. utensils) that we could easily find, also limited toilet paper and no bath supplies so would make sure to bring these items with you if important. Otherwise towels were well stocked including beach towels and sand toys, kitchen had ample utensils and some basic staple pantry items like seasonings, etc which was appreciated. Kids toys and books in the house were also a hit. Thanks for the lovely stay!
We had a great weekend away, our only negative was that there was not any internet access. The owners did not have this listed as something that they did have, so it was totally my bad for not checking before we booked. It was great to get away from it all.
thanks
We all enjoyed our stay in the home and having a fire in the backyard. The property is nestled in a wooded area. It is a nice short walk to restaurants and a small beach. This was a first stay in a VRBO and we didn't know that we had to bring our own supplies, like toilet paper so had to go buy some. Outdoor furniture on the decks is dated ie, plastic chairs and patio chairs that rock too far backward. Some of the rules dont feel very welcoming.
9 ladies and I stayed at this Baileys Harbor house when we ran the Door County Fall 50. There was plenty of space for everyone. It was a less than 30 min drive to our start line in Gill’s Rock and just about 40 mins from Sturgeon Bay, where we finished. We were a bit concerned that there wouldn’t be enough hot water for all of us to shower after our cold and rainy run, but we all had ample hot water to arm up and feel refreshed! Like other reviews said, bring more toilet paper! There was definitely not enough for the amount of people staying in the house. It would be nice just to have been offered an extra roll or two for each bathroom considering the amount of guests that the house holds. The weather was not very pleasant when we were here but we all said it would’ve been nice to enjoy the decks, outdoor space, and fire pit. Also, we all said this would be a great house to bring our kids and spouses to since it was a very kid friendly space (bikes, swingset, bunk beds, toys) and close to so many things that Door County has to offer!
I don't like to give negative reviews, and overlook annoyances in most cases. However, I appreciate honest reviews (good or bad), when deciding on a rental. In speaking with the owner during the week we were there, he assured me that what we experienced in regard to cleanliness and repair issues were anomalies. I trust what he said, but feel obligated to share our experience.
We arrived before our friends and their family, and were greeted by many bugs in the house, alive and dead, as well as the smell of wet charcoal in the garage. One of the two bathrooms was missing its toilet paper roll holder, the light switch for the chandelier over the kitchen table was broken and unusable, the upstairs smoke alarm had its battery compartment left open to reveal a missing battery, there were cob webs in the light fixtures, and there was no toilet paper. Fortunately, we brought our own toilet paper and paper towels, as well as Lysol and Clorox wipes (COVID-19 traveling essentials). We sat on each of the beds to find hard mattresses in all the bedrooms.
Embarrassed that we selected this rental for our trip with friends, we began killing flying insects and spiders, and cleaning the house. It seemed like it hadn't received a decent cleaning recently. Even most of the dishes were dusty. We put the essential ones through the dishwasher.
Whoever cleans this house did not check to ensure that the refrigerator had been emptied. There was partially consumed food left from someone before us, and half empty bottles of alcohol on the counters. I dumped all the garbage left behind and took it to the trash container outside.
Once our friends arrived, it was a nightly task to kill the flying insects. Even though we strictly enforced quick closure of the two doors leading outside, they somehow found their way into the house. Then we discovered we could only get about two showers in before having to wait for the water to heat up again.
We dealt with the small kitchen, the lack of wi-fi and cell reception in the house (which we were aware of when booking), and hung an extra blanket over the sliding glass doors to the decks, since the curtains didn't close all the way.
We planned this last-minute trip, having stayed in the region 6 weeks prior in an excellent VRBO. Even if we hadn't, this was a disappointment. Hopefully it truly was an anomaly and your experience is better.
The bikes, fire pit & location were great, as were scenic walks along the lake.

I encourage everyone to read this entire response.
Upon checking in, Mark sent me a litany of things that were "wrong" with the house. MOST IMPORTANTLY, Mark said "it appears the house wasn't cleaned" and that he "would like a partial refund".
Unfortunately for Mark, what he didn't realize was that my Mother and Father in Law live down the road and had walked through the house just prior to his arrival - and the house was definitely cleaned.
I immediately called Mark upon receiving his message and demand for a partial refund. After explaining to him that my in-laws were in the house just prior to his arrival, magically his partial refund demand disappeared...
If you read ALL OF OUR REVIEWS, you will notice that Mark is our only unhappy guest and ironically many of our reviews talk about HOW CLEAN THE HOUSE WAS UPON ARRIVAL.
Just like every restaurant inevitably has guests who complain about their food in an attempt to get something for free, apparently so does VRBO.
We take great pride in ensuring that all guests are happy upon departure and will continue doing so going forward. And based upon the rest of our reviews, we will do so successfully.
Generally speaking, I find it a mistake to match petulance with petulance, but with that said, we owe it to ourselves to respond to this in a blunt manner. And fortunately for us, most people realize that in a world of "reviews", we also live in a world with unreasonable people with unreasonable demands. Giving in to Marks demands of a "partial refund" would set a unfortunate precedent - instead we will rely on the rest of our positive reviews to give people an idea of how happy all the guests who have stayed here have been - except Mark, of course.
It was a wonderful weekend for a family wedding at the golf course nearby, the property was closer than we thought. The house was very clean and able to accommodate our family.
Walkable to Baileys Harbor, great outdoor space with swingset and firepit backing onto a wooded area. Loads of games and books for adults to children. Great rental for multiple families.
Property was nice, clean, spacious, easy to find.
Wish it would have had wifi and better cell phone reception. The cell phone reception was available only in certain spots in the home. Also, we could not get the direct TV dish to work. The system kept asking us to log into the account to re-activate?

Sorry to hear about the technical struggles. This year we have WiFi! Cell phone service varies with provider.
The location is excellent and very close to town. The open floor plan is great between the kitchen, dining and family room. Make note that there is no Wi-Fi, adults were fine with this but the kids not so much. Overall, great time.
Nice home in Door County on the Lake Michigan side
We had a wonderful trip to Door County! The house was clean and had what we needed for our stay. The owners were quick to answer my questions through the VRBO app. Our group of six (mom, sister-in-law, three sisters and myself) agreed we would stay here again if given the chance.
