Beautiful wood interior done by hand using trees from the property by the owner's grandfather. Located in a country setting that is close enough to modern amenities but far enough away to enjoy your privacy. Great for outdoor activities: hiking, fishing, canoeing, swimming, snowmobiling, skiing, close to ATV trails in NH, or just hop in the car and enjoy historic Vermont and all it's unique vistas. Pet and children friendly

There was some confusion in the arrival information provided by VRBO & the host. Contradicting what VRBO sent me in an email, the host had sent a separate email to me with CURRENT lock-box code. Unfortunately, that email went to my SPAM folder, which I had not checked before leaving on the trip. Unable to get inside the cabin at 7:30 pm (dark, cold & with no cell reception) was very distressing. We had to drive to the P&H Truck stop to get wifi, so I could access the email & get the HOST'S phone number. While my call went to VM, he did call back within a couple of minutes, giving me the UPDATED lock-box code.
First off the owner was very responsive, friendly, and helpful. Any questions were addressed quickly.
Upon pulling up to the camp, located on a dirt road off the beaten path, I was pleased with it's location. On a corner lot with a beautiful view it set nestled on a hillside. It seemed ,like the pictures on line, to have a small footprint. Much to my surprise when I went in through a convenient mudroom the camp opened up to a much larger space than the website or outside appearance leads you to believe.
It was perfect for what we needed. Comfortable for 6 people. Bedrooms at opposite ends for some semblance of privacy when wanted. A centrally located kitchen table to gather at for games. A very cozy living room to chat or wacht a movie.
Location was ideal. About 5 minutes off the highway and a truck stop with great food, and 10 minutes from New Hampshire it was easy to get to and easy to get to places.
A beautiful stream was accessible with a short hike down the road and turkeys dotted the landscape throughout the weekend.
All in all an extremely comfortable place ( also has air conditioning-nice in summer) and would recommend to anyone for a cozy get away.

Hi Micheal,
Thank you for the great review!!
Hope to have you and your family stay again.
We really enjoyed our two week stay at this property. Great location between several different ski areas within a 45-60 minute drive. The kitchen was very well stocked, rooms were comfortable and the property owner was very responsive to any questions that we had.
We were looking for a remote holiday getaway and this was the perfect cabin for that. The backyard was perfect for our little dog to run around and enjoy. We’d absolutely stay again!
It was beautiful, relaxing and cozy. There is so much family culture in that house! The only thing we wished was different was the length of our stay! We wanted to stay longer. I was not ready to go home!
It was such a pleasant stay. Out in the farmlands and forests of Vermont. And yet, so well located that it was easy to get to shopping, restaurants, etc. We thoroughly enjoyed it and we are coming back in a month!
My fiancé , myself and our friends planned out a trip to go to Vermont we thought we found an amazing property but When we got there we waited for 3 hours outside of the house because the property manager wouldn’t answer the phone and we were given the wrong code for the key pad lock, worst house I’ve ever been too, the house has a moldy smell to it from when you walk in, the bathroom looked like someone was living there and had just left, dirty shower, the bed wasn’t even made the blacker was pulled over to make it look neat but when we were heading to bed we had to sleep on the couch because the sheets were stained and smelled, moldy food in the fridge and cabinets , found 2 dead mice IN THE KITCHEN 1 under the sink and another in the cabinet with food, rat/mouse feces in the cabinets and draws in kitchen, also THE PROPERTY MANGERS BOTH BLOCKED MY NUMBER so I couldn’t reach out. I HAD TO CALL HOMEAWAY.

We are very sorry that you didn't have a good experience. By the way congratulations on the proposal; when you texted to cancel a few days before arrival, you had mentioned that your boyfriend had just started a new job and couldn't take the time off. If we had know about the special occasion we would have left a bottle of wine, but then again all six people that stayed were under the age of 21 which was against our policy of being over 25 to rent the cabin.
We did not block your number, when Kevin called you to address the ages, he had mentioned that we were spending the weekend in a place didn't have cell service and we would go into town to check for messages. If you had bothered to read the Guest Guide that we emailed to you, you would have had the code to access the house. We are very sorry that VRBO/Homeaway gave you the wrong code. According to our security camera you had arrived 1 hour prior to us calling you back.
We stay there ourselves and know for a fact that there are NO stained sheets and we have not had any mice issues since putting the cabin on the rental programs. No other renters had a complaint regarding mice or stained linen.
We looked in the fridge and food cupboards and did not see any moldy food. We advertise the cabin as having the basic necessaries so we do leave items in the bathrooms and kitchen for guest to use; such as hair dryer, soap, q tips, condiments, spices and other such items.
By the way what was up with all the salt sprinkled around the house?
We found this home to be comfortable and homey, like a well-worn pair of shoes! It's located in a quiet neighborhood that's convenient to the Connecticut River for kayaking and Groton State Forest for hiking. The owners provided a lot of detailed information about the property, and responded quickly to our questions. We'd definitely consider returning if we're in the area again.
