This WATERFRONT home offers the perfect location to enjoy everything LAKE ANNA has to offer. Blue herons swoop and fish jump throughout the protected, deep-water cove, perfect for kayaks and canoes. For your paddling pleasure, enjoy the cove or main lake with the two kayaks . If you want a slower pace, the pedal boat is perfect.

The gentle slope from the house to water's edge guarantees that guests of all ages can enjoy the waterfront and dock. Watch the kids play in the sandbox or swim in the semi-enclosed area close to the bank, or enjoy the deep water from the end of the dock.

Marvel at the huge master bedroom and bath with a private balcony lakeside. The third bedroom has its own lakeside balcony as well. Three bedrooms and two baths upstairs are complimented by two pullout couches and a full bath on the main floor.

Enjoy visits with family and friends in the open concept first floor that extends to a wide deck, patio and fire pit close to water's edge. The WiFi, pool table, smart TV, games, DVDs and books offer something for everyone.

Now, back to the lake: Lake Anna is the second largest lake located entirely in Virginia. It encompasses 250 miles of shoreline and 13,000 acres of water. The lake is 17 miles long and surrounded by farms and forest.

Lake Anna has 2 sections, the main or public side and the private side. The public section consists of 9,600 acres with marinas, restaurants and commercial business. The private side is divided by 3 rock dikes and consists of 3,400 acres. There are no public boat ramps, marinas or restaurants on the private side; only homes adorn the shoreline.

Blue Skies at Lake Anna is located mid-lake on the public side, close to restaurants, marinas, Lake Anna State Park and other attractions by either boat or car.

Attractions: Lake Anna is perfect for boating, jet-skiing, fishing and water activities, but there are many other activities to enjoy while visiting this area. Some attractions include hiking trails at Lake Anna State Park, wineries (Lake Anna Winery, Mattaponi Winery, Cooper Vineyards, Weston Farms and more), Kings Dominion Theme Park, Monticello (Thomas Jefferson's Home), Montpelier (James & Dolly Madison's Home), Civil War battlefields, Bluemont Concerts and Dances, Fridays After Five, the Mineral Bluegrass Festival, fine dining, shopping and more. Lake Anna is located close to Fredericksburg, Richmond and Charlottesville. Blue Skies at Lake Anna is owned by a local who can offer you suggestions to round out your vacation itinerary.

About the pricing: Service fee is a VRBO fee and cannot be adjusted by the Host. Host fee is cleaning and a single pet fee, if applicable. If more than one dog is approved, additional pet fee is required.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Blue Skies. This is probably one of the cleanest houses we have ever rented through Homeaway. The location is on a quiet part of the lake and the dock was much larger than it appears in the pictures. We would definitely stay here again.

We had a great time. The house was tucked back in a cove so we could float around on tubes and not have to worry about anything. Nice flat walk from house to dock.

Blue Skies had everything we needed for a great stay. We loved taking the kayaks out on the lake and the fishing off the dock was great. The cove location was peaceful with a lovely wooded area across the cove, yet close to the larger lake area. When we were inside the house we had wonderful views of the lake. The dock lounge chairs were awesome for a relaxing afternoon reading on the dock or taking a nap. We also enjoyed campfires in the fire pit and playing pool on the very nice pool table. If we return to Lake Anna we would definitely stay again.

Thanksgiving on the Lake

We had a wonderful time celebrating Thanksgiving on the lake. We were provided a roasting pan for our turkey! How much more could you ask for? The view was incredible, and we enjoyed the deer, squirrels, and chipmunks.

Lovely Lakefront Home with a Beautiful View

We enjoyed a family weekend at Blue Skies. The house was very clean and spacious to accommodate six adults and two dogs, and very comfortable. We enjoyed the pool table and the outside property amenities as well, which included a fire pit, dock, and paddle boat. The views of the lake were spectacular, and the location was convenient to Lake Anna Park and the winery. We were sad to leave!

Great Location - Best Vaca in a long time!

The private water access is the best I've seen at any house in Lake Anna. Great location to kayak. The dock was perfect for fishing and jumping off! The fishing was great too. Lots of catfish and sun perch. The house was just perfect. Spacious rooms and lots of places to get out of the heat. the yard was great for the pup to play frisbee and chase some wildlife. Highly recommend.

Beautiful, Quiet Lakefront Property

This lakehouse is located on a quiet cove with nothing but woods to occupy your gaze as you sit on the spacious dock or relax by the firepit. The house was clean and nicely furnished with a large kitchen and comfortable beds. The 2 kayaks provided by the owner are a nice bonus for anyone who doesn't have their own watercraft to bring along. Highly recommend this house and property!

Our stay was great. The house is positioned close to the lake. The beach area and slope into the lake was perfect for the dog and kids yo be able to splash around. One of the kayaks had a small crack and Kate quickly had a replacement there the same day. The neighborhood is very quiet and felt like we were the only ones there and had the cove to ourselves most days.

We spent a quiet relaxing week on the lake. Kayaking was great. Sitting on the dock and watching the wildlife was amazing, as were the breezes. The house was stocked with everything we needed, and in a great location. One of the highlights of the week was meeting the owners. Kate and Steve are the exceptional people and made our stay that much more better. We look forward to staying here again.

As a native Nebraskan, I always loved lakes more than oceans. However, I didn't like the cold and wind that permeates Nebraska winters, so I moved to Virginia many years ago. Combining my love of lakes with the moderate Virginia climate makes Lake Anna a dream come true.

I retired after a 30 year career in law enforcement and have moved into fun post-career jobs as winery festival coordinator at Lake Anna Winery and a newspaper reporter. I'm also involved in volunteer activities, some of which revolved around the well-being of our children. I'm becoming more addicted to bridge as each week passes.

Feel free to ask me about the lake and the number of wonderful restaurants that we have. I wrote the 2014 and 2015 Lure of Lake Anna restaurant guides, so I've done my research.

Steve and I actively manage this property. I will be prompt in addressing any questions or concerns that arise, before, during and after your visit.

Steve and I love working on Blue Skies during the off-season. We've made many improvements over the past four plus years. He excels at carpentry, drywall, name it, he does it.

I want you to enjoy your Lake Anna visit whether you rent Blue Skies or one of the other excellent properties.

What makes this property unique

Our purchase of this home was a an easy decision. After looking at several other properties, Blue Skies was the obvious winner. Where some homes have many stairs down to the water, Blue Skies is practically level. Many subdivisions lack mature trees, but Tall Pines is, just as the name suggests, covered with tall pines. Water around other Lake Anna docks may be very shallow in late summer, but Blue Skies always has good depth. I could go on and on, but visit Blue Skies and see for yourself.
