The home is well-maintained and spotlessly cleaned with green products.
Two bedrooms have queen size beds each (one is a Tempurpedic style memory bed great for your back!). The bonus room has a twin day bed. The bathroom has a bathtub/shower. A single-car garage can be accessed from the ally with additional storage (lockable) for your skis or kayaks or bikes. A covered patio offers a perfect BBQ retreat. * *Please note that the garage cannot fit oversized cars/trucks and you will have to park on NW 6th Street where there is plenty of parking. Never block the alley.
Experience the great location of the Bend Bungalow! Whether taking advantage the close proximity to the Deschutes River, Mt. Bachelor or just wanting to explore the shops and restaurants of Bend, this location is close to the slopes (on the mountain in 30 minutes!) or a lovely walk across the river.
Neighborhood gourmet food market 'Newport Market', coffee houses, restaurants, frozen yogurt and shops are within three blocks of home. Old town shops and our family’s favorite, the Deschutes Brewery, is a six minute walk down the street and across the river. Children will love the 'boat park' one block away where there is also a ballpark and the walking bridge to Drake Park.
Don’t bother with driving and parking: Both the 4th of July and Christmas Parades start right in front of the cottage! Enjoy the three-minute walk to the summer time popular 'Munch-n-Music' with free concerts and movies at Drake Park and food from local restaurants.
Come be our guests and enjoy!

Wonderful and cozy place to stay! It's in a great location with downtown and many restaurants within walking distance. We enjoyed playing games on the coffee table and lounging on the comfy couch.
Perfect place for our stay. We are 2 quilters that needed a place to stay for the Sisters outdoor quilt show. Enough room for us to spread out and set up all our quilting needs for the evening.
Very clean and comfortable space. Older house but up to date. Convenient and walkable to restaurants. Enjoyed sitting under the covered patio in the evening. Having an enclosed garage to park in was a nice bonus.
We were two couples meeting in Bend for three nights. The Bend Bungalow was perfect for our needs. The location couldn't be better! Very close to Drake Park, Mirror Pond, downtown shops and restaurants, and the fabulous Newport Market. The house has a spacious living room and comfy beds. We had a great stay!

So glad you enjoyed your stay! Come back any time!
We loved how close this house was to downtown as we were able to walk just about anywhere. Really liked the furniture in the Living Room. Super comfy and enough room for everyone. Probably the most comfortable bed I've slept on at a VRBO. Definitely a good place to stay.

Great location
We had a great time staying here and were easily able to get to many places walking from the bungalow. We enjoyed our stay in Bend and appreciated the helpful tips left by the owner.

Happy Travels!

Overall a nice stay and the location is great, but the property definitely needs some love. The garage opener was broken so we couldn’t easily access the garage to put our car in, front door keypad didn’t work, multiple outlets throughout the house are so old and worn out that we couldn’t even use them without the plug falling out, bathroom floor was pretty dirty, etc. Great restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance though. Overall, location is great, condition of the house leaves a bit to be desired.

Thanks for your feedback. The cleaners usually do an amazing job, so I'm sorry to hear that the bathroom floor wasn't cleaned. They apologize. The front door code was reset and works great! And the garage door works fine too -- someone pulled the cord so it was disengaged. Easy fix!
We agree the property can use some love, that's why we are happy to announce that we will be doing a bit of remodeling in the next month. Soon we will have new flooring, paint, and kitchen countertops/sink. Can't wait to make our cute, old bungalow even cuter!
Ample space and great central location. Everything was clean and working order when we arrived. Really appreciated, as per my request, to be able to check in a bit earlier.
This location was perfect for a 5 day trip to bend. The home had everything we needed to enjoy our stay

Liked: Check-in, communication, location
The “bonus room” was a laundry room/back entrance. One of us had to sleep in that most unattractive area. Additionally, we could not use the fan in that space because it was loose and wobbled as though it were going to fall out of the ceiling. There was no working light in the garage. The location was excellent for visiting downtown Bend. The general neighborhood was quite nice.

We are sorry that the home was not comfortable for your third guest. Had I known that you had 3 elders in your party, I would have messaged you in advance to clarify about the day bed in the bonus room that usually is used for an additional bed for children or overflow for bigger parties. Thank you for informing us about the wobbly fan and the garage light-- we will get it checked out! Safe travels.
I don’t want to be too critical here, it’s an older affordable home, obviously it’s been a rental for a while so not a lot of TLC. It wasn’t super clean when we arrived. Finding the property is a little tricky, be sure to follow instructions the owner provides. Best thing about this his property is the location.

James-I'm sorry to hear the home wasn't up to our usual standards of cleanliness. We have talked with the cleaning crew about that mishap for which they were willing to go your same check-in day to do a more thorough clean. Also, we have since spent some time there and have been able to pour some TLC into our cute little bungalow, but you are right, it is definitely an older home which we keep at an affordable price-- part of the charm! :)
About the host

We are Oregon residents who love the outdoors, be it the mountains, rivers or coastal areas. We love to travel the world and have fell in love with Bend, which reminds us of time we spent in Taos, New Mexico. The high desert sun, smell of the sage and pine, the Deschutes River, surrounding lakes, and mountains all make Bend a wonderful place to get outdoors. Though we have to admit, the many good restaurants and breweries have us staying close to our home-away-from-home for an easy walk to dinner or a drink with friends.
Our children love being close to the park, Goodie's (ice cream parlor), Cravin's Candy Emporium and a short walk to home after a float down the river.
We hope you will enjoy Bend and the surrounding area as much as we do. Cheers! - Lesley & Daniel, Portland, OR
