La Taupinere is a very comfortable and well-equipped, private, individual chalet. It has a large balcony facing south to wonderful views of the mountains and alpine meadows. The detached chalet is surrounded by its own garden. La Taupiniere also has a large sauna and private, indoor, 30ft heated swimming pool. The pool room has floor to ceiling glass doors/windows for lovely views onto the garden and mountains. La Taupiniere also has the benefit of excellent wifi internet connection.

The chalet is in a superb and beautiful location for all mountain activities including skiing, mountain biking, walking, golf, para-gliding, tennis or just for relaxing. It is well located for easy access to Lake Leman (Geneva) with its attractive lakeside towns of Vevey, Montreux, Lausanne etc. or the beautiful villages of the White Mountains: Chateau d'Oex, Gstaad, Rougement, or the glacier at Les Diablerets.

The village is surrounded by farms, with cows grazing in summer, producing the milk for the famous Gruyeres Cheese and the truly delicious Cailler chocolate, made and sold in nearby Broc, where you can also visit the factory. It is also possible to visit the Gruyeres Cheese factory and/or surrounding farms to see how the cheese is made.

The medieval, hilltop town of Gruyeres and the area is delightful to spend time, whether active or relaxing. The area is renowned for its beauty and there is plenty to see and do, both summer and winter. Moleson village has a small food store, restaurant, and cafe. The village is popular for skiing, has a friendly tourist office and a ski school.

The rental price includes the use of the chalet for up to 9 adults, and all the bed linen, bath towels and electricity. Swiss tourist tax is extra at CHF3.75 per person, per night.

Cozy chalet in a breathtaking setting

The small ski village of Moléson-sur-Gruyères is picturesque and a great jumping off point for hiking trails, gondola, the medieval walled town of Gruyeres and much more! We loved waking up to breakfast and coffee with a view of the cows, going for a swim or sauna after a long hike and relaxing with a glass of wine in the evening to the sound of cowbells. The chalet is compact, but we had plenty of room for the 7 of us. Loved it!

Escape to the Swiss mountains!

My wife and I booked the Christmas week at La Taupiniere and had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. We were very lucky withy the weather and each hiked to restaurant half way up the Moleson to enjoy the sunshine and a glass of wine. In addition, we swam three times a day in the heated indoor swimming pool and enjoyed the sauna every evening before dinner. In summary we had a very relaxing stay at La Taupiniere and highly recommend taking a holiday in this charming and very homely Swiss chalet.

What a wonderful 5 days!!! The Chalet is beautiful and a great asset to be able to come home from a long day's skiing and have a sauna and then swim in the morning to stretch off weary muscles. The position of the Chalet has easy access to some of the best ski resorts in the world coupled with the most delightful local town of Gruyeres makes it a perfect holiday location. I will defiantly come back and certainly would recommend it to friends and family.

Family fun in Moleson

The quintessential Swiss chalet with a bonus of an indoor pool to unwind after a day of hiking in the Gruyère countryside. Our grandkids spent every evening on the summer Bob-Luge . We visited Gruyère village and castle and the nearby Cailler chocolate factory. We will be back. Priceless week with the cable car up to the top of Moleson. Visit to the Gruyeres cheese factory. Evenings spent just reviewing the day ,listening to the cows and their bells and tuning out the world.

Beautiful Spot!

La Taupiniere is a sweet little Chalet, very tastefully decorated and very comfortable for our party of 8. It‘s located at the end of a road with no traffic or noise, but in walking distance to the lift and La Fromagerie d‘Alpage, which we went to almost daily... 😉 They make their own cheese, and their Fondue and Raclette are delicious. Their apricot „tarts aux fruits“ was to DIE for! The location of the house is also great for hiking right from your front door. We used the pool and sauna almost daily, what a treat! The kitchen was a little small, but manageable. The pretty villages of Bulle and Gruyere are just a few miles away, with plenty of Shops. We all loved our time there, and it was hard to leave...

Das Haus hält ein was das Inserat verspricht. Es ist alles genau so, wie auf den Bildern beschrieben. Jedoch ist es ein wenig in die Jahre gekommen. Überall fallen Dinge auf die eine Generalüberholung nötig hätten oder ersetzt werden müssten. Die Betten, das Sofa, das zusammengewürfelte und für eine grosse Gruppe nicht geeignete Kochgeschirr usw.Wir hatten aber trotzdem eine tolle Woche. Das Haus ist toll gelegen und direkt am Geschehen. Der Pool ein Traum, genau so der Garten.

Magnifique chalet avec tout ce qu'il faut pour passer un superbe séjour. Chalet tres bien situé pour être au calme et aussi a 10min a pied des activites de loisirs. L'hôte a été très sympathique.Juste un bémol, les lits ne sont pas les plus confortables et petits pour les lits doubles (nous sommes grands, tous à environ 1m80).

I'm delighted you enjoyed your stay. We do state the size of the beds in each room, and sadly we cannot have larger beds as the bedrooms are quite small, as the chalet was built in 1978 when everything was smaller. However, the actual beds themselves are comfortable and each has a comfortable mattress topper and we have all feather duvets and pillows, along with pure cotton bed linen.

Séjour à la Taupinière

Localisation tranquille, chalet charmant avec chambres agréables et bonne literie. Le balcon, la séjour et la cuisine sont un peu petits pour 6 personnes, malheureusement le temps était médiocre et nous n'avons pas pu profiter de du beau jardin et de la place de grillade. Heureusement piscine intérieure et sauna sont top.

Le chalet de Sarah est très agréable, la literie est confortable et les oreillers et couettes sont d'excellente qualité. Nous avons profité du sauna et de la piscine. Wunderbarer Winterurlaub

Wir waren beeindruckt von der Lage dieses wunderschönen, ein bisschen in die Jahre gekommenen Chalets. Moléson eine Reise wert

Es hat uns in diesem sehr gemütlichen Chalet sehr gefallen. Wir haben dort viele schöne Stunden verbracht. Bei traumhaftem Wetter haben wir die Gegend sehr genossen. Das Hallenbad und die Sauna wurde täglich, zum Teil mehrmals benutzt. Wir haben es sehr genossen.

Das geräumige und gemütliche Chalet bietet dem Gast viel, mit seinem grossen geheizten Indoorpool, der Sauna und dem schönen Garten. Die reizvolle Umgebung lädt zum Wandern ein. Einziger (kleiner) Negativpunkt ist die sehr kleine Küche, die etwas dürftig eingerichtet ist.

Der Essplatz ist für 9 Personen etwas eng. In der Küche können nicht mehr als 2 Personen werkeln. Küchenausrüstung entsprechend knapp. Aber der Pool hat alles rausgerissen, der war toll.

Preis-Leistung stimmt nicht!

Im Grossen und Ganzen ist das Ferienhaus eigentlich toll. Es hat seine besten Jahre mit Sicherheit hinter sich, was sich in Kleinigkeiten bemerkbar macht. Die Schlösser an den Türen lassen sich nur schwer und mit teilweise viel Kraftaufwand öffnen und schliessen. In der Dusche im Hallenbad fällt der Duschkopf auseinander und im Durchgangszimmer zum Pool ist die eine Wand komplett mit schwarzem Schimmel überzogen (die Feuchtigkeit in diesem Zimmer ist wirklich enorm). Das Garteninventar darf man kein Stück bewegen, da es sonst auseinanderfällt. Als wir den Kühlschrank zum ersten Mal öffneten kam und ein Fach entgegen und ist gleich zerbrochen. Im Schwimmbad hatten wir regelmässig Ameisenkolonien, die sich den Weg quer durchs Hallenbad gesucht haben und die Sauna Tür lässt sich nur mit erheblichem Kraftaufwand öffnen und schliessen. Schade, da es wirklich Kleinigkeiten sind, die leicht zu beheben wären, aber es macht den Anschein das sich niemand um dieses tolle Haus kümmert. Bei was wir leider grosse Abzüge machen müssen ist die Sauberkeit, vor allem in der Küche. Die Küche war teilweise so verschmutzt, das es wirklich schon fast eklig war. Keine Pfanne konnten wir brauchen ohne diese vorher gründlich abzuwaschen. Geschirr wurde teilweise dreckig verräumt und die Tischset waren so klebrig & dreckig das man sieht, diese wurden nach dem Essen einfach dreckig versorgt. Das Racletteöfeli mit den dazugehörigen «Pfännli» war so stark verschmutzt, dass wir auf unser Raclette verzichtet haben, auch hier hat es den Anschein gemacht, das es nach dem Essen einfach verräumt wurde ohne einen Tropfen Wasser, geschweige denn Spülmittel gesehen zu haben. In der Badewanne lagen lange dunkle Haare und in den Toiletten hatte es noch «Bremspuren». Auch die Ecken haben im ganzen Haus haben schon lange kein Staubsauger mehr gesehen. Die Mängel sind alles Kleinigkeiten (ausser dem Schimmel im einten Zimmer, der ist wirklich gravierend und schon fast gesundheitsgefährdend), die sich aber leider summieren und der Ferienstimmung einen kleinen Dämpfer geben, vor allem in dieser Zeit in der man nicht viel machen kann und mehr oder weniger seine ganze Zeit im Haus, Garten und Schwimmbad verbringt. Wenn an der Sauberkeit gearbeitet wird und man schaut das die Mängel behoben werden (und auch regelmässig kontrolliert dass keine neuen entstehen) würden wir das Haus wieder buchen. Im jetzigen Zustand muss man aber leider sagen, dass die Preis-Leistung definitiv NICHT stimmt!

Chalet La Taupiniere has been owned by our family since 1988. We had previously owned another chalet in the village since 1978, so I have grown up holidaying in Moleson and we really love both the chalet and the area.

Why they chose this property

My parents jumped at the chance to buy La Taupiniere as it had the fabulous indoor swimming pool and more space. Unlike most chalets in Moleson the parking is right outside, on flat ground, and there are no steps to the chalet. It is also situated in a very quiet no-through road with just 8 other chalets and there are open fields to the front, so it's very peaceful. As it's been our holiday home for so long, it really is a 'home' - well equipped, nicely furnished and the little touches and details that lift the chalet from being a mere 'soulless rental' to a homely base for your holiday.

What makes this property unique

I love being in a lovely little village in the mountains, yet it is so easy to get into the main town of Bulle and to other places in Switzerland. Compared to many ski chalets that are a long way up a mountain, where it's nigh-on impossible to leave once there, Moleson is really well located. So whether you want more skiing, restaurants, supermarkets, the tourist attractions of Gruyeres and the area, or the larger cities of Fribourg, Bern and Geneva - it's all really easy to access. A really great year-round holiday home.
