Art is a central theme, with folkart collected over years of Mexico travel, plus contemporary nature-inspired works, and whimsical touches that will surprise and delight. An eclectic mix of handcrafted furniture, traditional wood windows, and oriental carpets throughout convey an intimate timeless feel. Many people have said that it is like living in one of Diane's paintings.

Comfort-designed for southern Baja's famously mild climate, rooms spill out onto generous covered patios, sheltered from stiff winter nortes and open to the gentle breezes of summer. Private walled gardens put some of Baja's showiest natives on display, complemented by desert-adapted plants from throughout the world. Flowers attractive to hummingbirds and butterflies, plus birdbaths and feeders, keep the gardens lively!

Our home is close to beach, restaurants, dive center and other local services—all in easy walking distance, and our English speaking property managers will assure your best vacation ever. They can help you arrange massage, diving, kayaking, fishing trips, etc.

Rob and I designed El Encanto to be the kind of place we'd love to stay in with integrated indoor/outdoor living bringing us in contact with nature and full of art. We thought of the house and gardens as a giant art project. It was truly a labor of love and took us two years to build, working closely with local craftsmen.
