Chapel Bethel was last used as a Chapel in 1982 and had been unused and unloved until we started the conversion which was completed early in 2006. It is a fantastic property set over three floors and offers spacious and flexible accommodation for a large family or number of families.
Trawsfynydd is located within the Snowdonia National Park and is within easy driving distance of Zip World, Snowdon, Porthmadog, Portmerion Italianate Village, Ffestiniog Railway, Llechwedd Slate Caverns and Harlech Castle. The fantastic beaches at Cardigan Bay and the Llyn Penisula are nearby. There is a good selection of shops within the village and pubs serving food close by.
On the ground floor are two bedrooms - one double and one twin. Also on the ground floor is a bathroom with separate bath and shower. The well appointed kitchen, dining area with seating for 12 and comfortable sitting area can also be found on the ground floor. The kitchen is fitted with a built in double electric oven and a 5 ring gas hob. There is a large fridge and separate chest freezer plus plenty of pots, pans, cutlery and crockery.
On the mezzanine floor there is a second sitting area with wood burner and TV with freeview and a DVD player. There is also a bedroom with bunk beds and a cloakroom.
On the top floor there are three further bedrooms - one double with en-suite shower room, one single and a family room with one double bed and 2 single beds. There is also a bathroom on this floor with separate bath and shower.
Due to the nature of the building, there are secondary means of escape from the first floor. Only able bodied people can be accommodated in the mezzanine and 1st floor bedrooms.
Outside is parking for up to three cars and there is a garden area with feature slate table with stunning views over the surrounding countryside.
Heating is provided by gas central heating.

The day after we arrived, we were informed by workmen that the road was being dug up and that we had to move our cars from the car park, as we might not be able to get them out later. Half our party had gone on a Hike early that morning, so knew nothing about it, they had to park away from the Chapel when they returned. This is not the sort of thing that the Council decides at the last minute, and it went on for the whole 3 days of our stay. We spoke to the workmen and there had been plenty of notification about the Road closure and so we informed the Host, that it was inconvenient. We should have been informed, so that we could cancel and find somewhere else to stay. You couldn’t push a pram up the road and there was debris flying everywhere from the diggers. We didn’t get a satisfactory reply from the Host, she said she knew nothing about it as she doesn’t live in the village. All the bathrooms had an awful smell, the On-Suite was particularly bad and had to keep the door shut. As I hadn’t got satisfaction regarding the road, I didn’t bother to report the smell, but if I had complained at the time, the Host could have told me what to do. I’m not a plumber, surely its up to the Host to sort out those sorts of problems. I would not advise anyone to use the whirlpool bath, due to the muck it chucked out.The Chapel is up for Sale and it is neglected and in need of painting and maintenance work. A case of out of sight out of mind, obviously.Full Review on Trust Pilot!
Lovely place. Accommodation was clean and exactly as described. We did have an issue with the heating not coming on the one night but the owner sorted wothin an hour. Would definitely recommend.

A lovely spacious property ideal larger families or groups. lots of space for living and sleeping.
We had a lovely stay, enjoyed the area and would definitely go back again for a big family get together. Tastefully restored to a good standard making our stay even more enjoyable.
Fantastic property. Very spacious, lots of cooking and kitchen supplies and an ideal base for exploring local area. Stayed with 3 families with various ages and we had a fantastic time and loved it
We had a really great week here.
The property is huge with multiple areas to relax. The kitchen is very well stocked. The location is fantastic to reach all major north Wales tourist sites.
Some minor negative points.
No WIFI or microwave and the TV should be upgraded to a larger one.
We enjoyed our stay here, it’s ideally located in a village but with a shop nearby. We were three families and the layout of the property was ideal for this. We visited Snowdon and the deep mine which are both about a 20 minute drive away

Fantastic spacious and gorgeous converted chapel
What a wonderful home! Beautiful views and great location. Kath was really lovely and helpful during our stay. The house can certainly accommodate a large group with plenty of beds and a great kitchen. Definitely recommend
very spacious and accommodating property that made for a great base for a sociable weekend. Great location with easy walk from front door into countryside. Convenient local pub, though can’t say what it was like as the chapel was too comfy to leave, with a great kitchen for cooking in.
Lovely property with good social space for a large adult group. Well equipped although we could have done with a few more mugs

Great space for a large group.
This is a lovely property with good sized rooms and plenty of bathrooms, so it was ideal for our mixed group of adults and children . It is well equipped and has a lovely big table to seat 12 - 14 people. It would benefit from a bit of attention to detail - a few faults that need fixing and the beds and bedding really need an upgrade as they are not comfortable.
Overall, we had a great stay in this beautiful area.
We were a group of 7 adults and 1 toddler and found the property a great place to stay.It is located only a short drive from the lovely beaches of Harlech and Barmouth, and Zipworld, which is great fun.
The property is spacious and well equipped and provided everything we needed. Although parking is limited it wasn’t an issue for us.
I would definitely go back again and recommend to family and friends.
Such a beautiful and spacious home, we felt it had all we needed and much more, lots of space for our 4 families to get togethe. Well set out and excellent space for everyone to be able to eat, cook and play together with everything that we needed. The kids loved the upstairs seating area as the was so much space for them to play. The adults loved we could keep an eye on them while we had space to cook and enjoy the safe feeling they were close by. The bedroom very spacious and nicely laid out and lovely and clean. The area is lovely loads to visit only short car ride away. The host is very helpful snd friendly.
The space is large and cheaper than most places for multiple families to stay. The double metal frame beds are not really suitable for 2 individuals you end up sinking in the middle, but the divan and the singles where ok. The house was genarlly clean with some dusting required around the lamps and corners of the rooms. All in all we had a lovely time.
Plenty of room for all to have own personal quiet time, plus shared areas big enough for everyone. We didn't miss WiFi because we took games and played together. There's parking for three cars but it's tricky to get in/out if all the neighbours are home as it's a narrow street. The children loved hearing and spotting sheep. Great location for steam trains and beaches.
Perfect holiday rental for a large party. Twelve of my family stayed at the chapel and as one would think a chapel is a big place, loads of room for sitting , eating, cooking and sleeping. Children had room to play with toys provided. All equipment in the kitchen worked and very well stocked with crockery, cutlery, and kitchen utensils. Clean and warm we have spent a great weekend at the Chapel and are thinking of booking again. Owner easy to communicate with and replies to emails quickly.
We all enjoyed our stay in this beautiful house. It worked really well for grandchildren from two 3 yos to 20, safe for the little ones to go from floor to floor, and we all liked the way we could be in different spaces but we could hear eachother which was very companionable.
We welcomed the good number of bathrooms and loos.
Wonderful kitchen / dining area which encouraged all our gang to join in cooking and clearing, and great for us all to sit round the fabulous table.
Our littlest one had been concerned about a freezer bit enough for his ice-cream reqirements, it was ( phew) and kindly supplied with a generous stock by Kath.

Plenty of space. Well equipped. Beds were comfortable and road very quiet. We had two 7 seater cars and would not have fitted a third in!
We walked including Snowdon which was very busy (Pyg and Miners) as well as other mountains which were very quiet. Harlech was good - beach, castle and steepest street. We also swam in the fairy glen. Very cold. So much more to do but we ran out of time. Thank you.

The accomodation was lovely but it needs more cleaning and maintenance as there was a few oroblems
Lovely but we would not go back until it had a thorough clean and sort out the maintenance problems.I messaged Kath about a few problems which she promptly replied but one of the problems was a broken toilet seat on our first day and the smell in the same bathroom but it was never repaired or sorted .

Why they chose this property
The Chapel offers flexible and spacious accommodation for a large family or number of families in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park.
