Lakefront Fun Family Getaway on Fontana Lake Private Dock Pontoon and more!

Get away from it all and spend some quality time with the ones you love at the lake. This upscale home is located in a gated community at Fontana Lake. Truly lakefront, this home boasts its own private double-deck dock (yes, you can jump from the top if you dare) stocked with a canoe, pedal boat, kayaks, and stand up paddle boards. Seasonal pontoon rental is available for an extra fee so that you can explore this beautiful, large lake to your heart's content.

This upscale home has three bedrooms and three bathrooms, sleeping up to 10 guests comfortably. With a large wrap around, covered deck, you can grill out and enjoy the breathtaking view (you just might catch the scenic Great Smoky Mountain Railways train pass across the water), or cook meals for the family in the large, well-appointed kitchen. Catch fish from the private dock for dinner, roast marshmallows at the outdoor fire pit, or go for a run down the quiet gravel road. Tired out from activities? Watch a movie on the enormous projection screen home theater, or curl up with a great novel from the large library. Old and young will find plenty to do at the lake. Need to check in with work? Satellite wi-fi is provided.

The main floor of the house has two bedrooms and two baths (one king and one queen), while downstairs has a large bed room perfect for kids or young families (one full and two bunk beds) and an additional bath. The two upstairs bedrooms have flat screen televisions with Direct TV satellite, and blu ray players, and the downstairs family room has a large home theater system with surround sound. The main living room has an impressive stacked stone fireplace for cozy nights. The downstairs family room has gas logs.

The downstairs patio has a large hot tub for soaking those cares away.

Fontana Lake is part of the TVA system and varies its levels throughout the year. The lake is usually at full capacity from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Our dock stays in the water year round, though in the winter months, some traversing over rocky banks is necessary (my kids love exploring this "moonscape." Steps take you down to the dock and lake year round, but if you have guests who find stairs difficult, you can drive to the marina and pick them up there for easier access to the lake. Also, please note that the lower level of the house is accessed inside the house by a spiral staircase (there are also more gradual exterior steps). This can be blocked for young children, but parents should take note.

This was the perfect setup for our two families. The kids had the downstairs which made it really nice for them. Great views and location on the lake. The artwork was really unique and a fun touch. Beautiful home and great hosts that were very amenable and responsive. Would stay again for sure.

House was very big and exactly as advertised. Place was bigger than it looked in the photos! Plenty of room to spread out. The boat was an added attraction for us. So nice having it right there to come and go as you want. We had the best time and hopefully will be able to return next year!

Another Great Stay at Lakefront Family Fun on Lake Fontans

We have stayed at this house on Lake Fontana several times and we always have a great experience. The house is well stocked and has all the extras - boat, kayaks, and canoe for lots of water fun. The owners are very responsive if we need help, and are delightful to work with. The house provides an amazing location for our extended family to meet and enjoy beautiful Lake Fontana.

Perfect Thanksgiving gathering place

This was a perfect spot for our families to gather for theThanksgiving holiday. We were blessed to have a full day on the lake (canoes and kayaks), then the next day (rainy) we enjoyed being tourists in Bryson City. We hope to return to this lovely location in the future!

Perfect family Christmas getaway

This house is lovelier than the photos, super comfortable, incredibly well-stocked and was just the dream setting for a blended family holiday week, including the pups. Wonderful family get away lake home

Family Vacation

We had a wonderful week. The house was welcoming and comfortable. The kitchen was well supplied to meet the needs of a large family. Access to the lake kept the children occupied for hours. The owners were friendly and easily accessible. Our family will definitely visit again.

Great lake house!

Plenty of room for extended family and kids. We rented the pontoon for the week and that was the best part. Wonderful hot tub and decks overlooking the lake. Great communication with the hosts who responded quickly to any concerns. Would go back!

AMAZING Property!

We had a group of 10 stay and were all extremely comfortable. The house was stocked with everything we needed and more. Toys and games for the kids were such a nice surprise. The neighborhood is quiet and private. I would recommend this property to anyone looking to stay in the area.

This was a very nice cabin to stay in!! The pontoon boat was great!! ....The steps going down to pontoon boat are alot....be prepared!! LOL I would def stay here again :)

Mountain Lake House Paradise

Our family enjoyed a week in this beautiful lake house. This place is in a gated community with lots of privacy. The house is well stocked with plenty of room. The view from the deck and dock is incredible. The use of the boat was a huge bonus! Unfortunately, now my wife wants a house on lake Fontana. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and plan to return next summer.

Lakeside Stay

We absolutely love this area, and staying at this house made our vacation. The location was fabulous — morning coffee on the deck listening to the birds was a great way to start the day. The kids enjoyed the kayaks and paddle boards. And ending the day watching the sunset as we grilled was perfection. The kitchen was fully stocked which made meals at home easy to prepare. We all enjoyed family movie nights on the large projection TV. Esther and Wayne were so welcoming and easy to deal with. Thank you for the memories!

Another Fantastic Week at Fontana

This was our second time staying at Wayne and Esther’s house. We had a fantastic week! The house is clean, kitchen has everything you need (and more!), beds are very comfy, outdoor spaces are prefect (rain or shine), and above all else, Fontana Lake is so beautiful! We rented the boat and greatly appreciate the convenience and value it provides. We cruised everyday and explored the lake and rivers. We have visited the lake 6 times and this is the only property we’ve had a repeat stay. We’ll be back!!

Fantastic location - wonderful house for family vacation!

We have visited Fontana multiple times and this house / location combo is our favorite. We’ve also done a lot of VRBO rentals over the years and this property is amoung the best! Location: The house is the closest we’ve stayed to Bryson City (groceries mainly) and the NOC (white water rafting and other outdoor activities). You are a 5 minute boat ride from the Almond marina. We got ice there nearly everyday and gas for the boat. House: The house is wonderful! The layout is excellent for our large group (6 adults, 3 kids). The kitchen is larger enough for all the cooks ;-) and well equipped. The beds were all extremely comfortable with nice bedding. The house was very clean. The covered porch was perfect for sitting outside at all times of the day and watching the lake. We even sat comfortably on the porch during the brief rain showers. The house has a double garage which was perfect for storing our mountain bikes. Outdoors: The stairs down to the dock are good (other properties have much steeper journeys down to the dock). If stairs are not your thing, there is a golf cart - prefect!! The double decker dock made for tons of fun - kids jumped off the top deck and so did some of the braver adults. We rented the pontoon boat and enjoyed motoring around the lake. The house comes with multiple kayaks (both small for little kids and full size for adults), SUPs (stand up paddle boards), and even a canoe. Life jackets of all sizes were available. Check out: I was delighted by the short list of asks upon check out! We didn’t have to take the trash away from the house (have had to do that in other rentals in the area. Owners: Esther and Wayne were great - very laid back but very responsive when we had questions. Couldn’t have asked for more!

Paradise!

We celebrated our 35th anniversary with our adult children and their partners. I have visited Fontana Lake since I was a kid and love it! All the other reviewers have highlighted the many perks of this property and we agree with all of them! It’s amazing how much room you have to spread out and our party of 9 had plenty of room! The dock is really not a bad walk. If you don’t handle stairs well, there is a trail down to the dock that is less steep. Even though we had a lot of rain over our 4 day weekend, we spent as much time as possible on the water. Everyone but me jumped off the top deck!! It is a perfect place for dogs. The enormous deck is gated and they loved patrolling the lake and the woods from their secure location. This a house clearly designed to make the best use of family time! It was well worth the splurge and I envy Wayne and Esther their slice of paradise. It is divine!! It is the most well equipped rental you’ll ever find!

Fontana Family Vacation

This is the second time we have stayed at this property. It was so great the first time that we wanted to stay here again. Covid kept us from renting this home until 2022. We had another wonderful time here. Lots of watercraft to use, good dock and nice location on the lake.

Amazing Property - Stunning View

Why they chose this property

There are so many wonderful things to do in this area--from white water rafting to mountain biking. But you might find that you only want to leave via the dock to play on the lake. This is a property where you can really get away from it all and entertain yourself just with what is available here at the property.
