Lakefront Oasis: Dock, Hot Tub, Views, Nearby Rafting, Zipline, and More!
Escape to the perfect lakefront getaway! It is the perfect lakefront escape with exceptional lake views from our large deck. Our spacious cabin offers great lake access and is just a short drive from all the fun-filled activities you could ask for. With nearby rafting, biking, ziplining, Cherokee, Bryson City, and Robbinsville, there's never a dull moment.
Enjoy your own private section of the dock. During the summer months, you can easily launch your boat right next to our dock and tie off right away. No more wasting your precious vacation time searching for a boat slip!
Take a dip in the refreshing lake waters or cast a line and try your luck fishing from our dock. For the thrill-seekers, bring your boat, water skis, and/or jet ski and play on the lake, or take a leisurely cruise through the stunning mountain-scaped lake. Don't forget to pack some sandwiches for a relaxing picnic on the lake or at the historic Fontana Dam.
If you're looking for more adventure, you won't have to go far. Go white-water rafting or kayaking down the Nantahala River, take a ride on the Great Smokey Mountains Railroad, go horseback riding, hike the Appalachian Trail, or challenge yourself on the famous Tsali Bike Trails. You can also tour the historical Cherokee or try your luck at the Cherokee Casino, all just minutes from our cabin. We like to think of our area of Western North Carolina as God's Theme Park, a place for recreation and relaxation that is sure to recharge your soul!
Our private dock walkway is shared with our other home, but each of our homes has its own reserved section. Our dock is conveniently located just outside the marina's no-wake zone, making it a quick and easy trip for supplies and gas. From May to early September, you can launch your boat and/or jet ski right next to our dock. The marina launch area is also just a short distance away. Please note that the dock may not be available in the winter as the TVA lowers the lake level. The marina adjusts our dock as the lake level lowers and rises to and from the winter levels.
We provide a golf cart for transporting people, coolers, and gear to the dock, as well as two ride-on top kayaks to get on the water for your convenience. Please note that availability depends on the prior guest caring for them during use, but we make a reasonable effort to ensure they are available for all guests.
Need more space for your party? Check out our home next door (867682) and see if it's available. It's always more fun when everyone is close by!

Beautiful week on Fontana Lake. Beds were comfortable and huge deck was fun for relaxing and games. This pet-friendly home is clean and fresh. Used the kayak once and swam in lake off dock, which was fun. Marina is 4 min away and we rented a pontoon several times - the people at the marina are friendly and helpful.
This was our first time staying on Lake Fontana and we loved every minute. We loved the golf cart to take us to and from the lake. Thank you for a great stay.
This was our 2nd time staying at this property. We had a great time. House has all that you need for a great vacation. Beds are comfy. Large deck for our dogs to run around and my family to enjoy the evening lake views. Lake access is very easily accessible. Short distance to the house.
Dream vacation!! We had the most peaceful, relaxing and fun vacation I can remember! Kitchen was stocked with everything from a really nice coffee pot to slow cookers to all sizes of pots and pans. Beds were really comfortable and there was ample seating space for our huge family. The private dock and deck overlooking the lake were our favorite features! George was super fast to respond to a few questions we had on the first day, and seemed like he would have been quick to fix any issues, if we would have had any.
Tons of comfortable room to hangout inside. Tons of deck space outside with great views of lake. Windows all around. Great hot tub. Bedrooms extremely clean with excellent sheets and pillows.
We enjoyed the deck looking out over Lake Fontana for hours! Quiet & peaceful with very little boat traffic. The house was convenient to rafting the Nantahala, visits to Bryson City, & site seeing in the Smokies. This was a great retreat for our family. Will definitely stay here again in the future!
We enjoyed our stay on Lake Fontana! The kayaks were fun and the hot tub was relaxing. The house was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The property manager was available for any questions we had. We would stay here again, and would bring our kids next time.
Great Family Gathering place. Lots of room. Easy to contain 4 children from 1 -10 years old. Easy to communicate with the owners. Close to the grocery store and lots of activities. Loved the easy access to lake via golf cart.
This home checked all the boxes and then some. Locations was great- near a marina if you want to rent a boat, short boat ride to the amphitheater on the water for the rope swing. Kayaks were liked by all, as well as a well set up dock with chairs and umbrellas. We always take paper towels, beach towels extra trash bags and spices as most rentals don’t provide that. This one has it all plus Very surprised that this home had doggy bowls, a cooler, games and firewood. We will absolutely return and recommend for all.
This house was amazing. The views of the lake and mountain were awesome. Lots of glass to see the beautiful outdoors. We prepared Thanksgiving there and the kitchen was better equipped than I could ever expected. We had a small issue that didn't affect the house but George came and corrected the issue on the holiday weekend. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back. It was easy and wonderful vacation.
Our stay was great, beautiful but not easy access to dock. The kitchen light was out and half the jets in hot tub didn’t work. Overall would recommend. Thank you
Definitely a house with a view, we loved being on the porch and in the hot tub!! George took all things mentioned to him and responded right away with fixing them or relaying to his cleaning staff!! The dock, fire pits and kayaks were absolutely amazing and the golf cart to get down to them!! Make sure you check on water level in the area in the winter months but it is still so beautiful even as it is lowered!! We will definitely come back again!!

Weekend Getaway
This property is nice and secluded with beautiful views of lake Fontana. We enjoyed our stay there overall, but the home and the hot tub are both in desperate need of a deep clean. We also had difficulty accessing the dock which was about 20+ feet away from the shore and had not been pulled in for guest access. We contacted the property manager who then called the marina to come reel it in for us. Good place for a quiet, calm getaway, but we were somewhat disappointed by the state of the property.
Great house on Fontana Lake. It was well stocked with household items including paper towels, toilet tissue, laundry detergent, garbage bags etc. I have stayed at houses where these items did not exist or were minimal. Kitchen was well stocked and house had plenty of seating inside and outside. Very comfortable beds and I loved that it was 2 Kings and then a room with 2 queens. Not a large or fancy house but very comfortable with a wonderful deck area and gorgeous view. Dock area was very nice and we did use a boat for the lake from there which was really nice. We had something come up on our original dates and we were able to change our dates to another available week. We would definitely rent this house again.
Due to a last minute issue with airline travel plans, my family needed a backup plan for the Columbus Day holiday weekend. I found this listing by sport-clicking on VRBO. The owners were great with a response to a question I had about same-day availability (wasn’t available, but I appreciated the timely reply).
The property is perfect for a large gathering. We only had three of us, so plenty of space to spread out. The cabin is pretty well kept inside, has a fully stocked kitchen and a grill on the deck. The location is great for peace and quiet, visiting Bryson City and taking day trips to the Great Smokey Mountains National Park.
The only suggestion I have is to provide a little more detail for finding the cabin. The owners did provide a detailed check-in email which includes written directions. We just had a hard time figuring out which driveway to turn down. Perhaps a sign with the address on/near the gravel road would help…we didn’t see an address number until we went down the driveway and faced the cabin. Of note, typing the address in Wayz did get us in the ballpark.
Everything is as advertised with this property…you’ll have a nice stay here.
The house was a great location for our Thanksgiving vacation. We enjoyed the quiet neighborhood and close hiking trails. Everything we needed was provided!

Why they chose this property
We grew up in the mountains of WNC and fell in love with the beauty and tranquility of Fontana Lake and all of the activities close by. Lake front property is pretty rare on this lake with the Nantahala National Forest & Great Smoky Mountains National Park protecting most of the lake front and adjoining properties. We were extremely fortunate to find this little gem and believe we should provide an opportunity for others to enjoy and treasure it as we do.
