Beautiful Renovated Fisherman's Cottage With Stunning Sea Views

Smugglers Rest has been converted and renovated from 2 fisherman's cottages into a beautiful home. Every room has views over the bay. The cottage doors open onto a large sun trap terrace with stunning views over Sennen Cove to Cape Cornwall. In the lower garden there is a bench for a quite read, and in the garden above there is a summer hut with panoramic views. If you are lucky you will see dolphins, basking sharks and you might even swim with a seal. Sennen is a great place for children, with a huge sandy beach and lifeguards in the summer months. For older children there are surf schools, and the cottage has 'fibre to the door' Wi-Fi. There are beautiful walks along the coastal path. The cottage is open plan, with a Rayburn or electric oven to cook on. The cottage oozes peace, and the wood burning stove keeps it cosy in winter. It is 3 minutes walk to the beach, the shop, cafe and pub are all within 5 minutes walk. There are steps to the cottage (so not suitable for people with mobility problems).

Lovely cottage

Beyond our expectations, Smuggler's Rest was perfect for our week away. We brought the dog and two kids, there's loads of room, two bathrooms, 3 proper bedrooms, well equipped kitchen including an Aga. We spent the whole week local, never drove anywhere and made the most of the beach everyday. Nice walks nearby and interesting little harbour. Planning on returning next year!

Beautiful comfortable cottage with great views

We have been to Sennen on many occasions but this is the best stay we have had, the cottage has everything and more than you need for a very comfortable stay. Great living spaces downstairs, an extra shower room, very handy, and 3 bedrooms and bathroom upstairs. Bedrooms all have a great views, the outside space is fantastic, with so many options on where to sit and with the hidden gem of the top of the hill summerhouse. WiFi brilliant. Hosts also provides touches to welcome you wine, milk and biscuits...what more could you want!!

There was absolutely everything we needed - and for the first time in our life, the things all really functioned (TV, Toaster etc.) :) We especially enjoyed the body-suits for bathing in October sea and the niece views over the cove. Andrew was very kind in contact by email and also Pauline always answered quickly by sms.

Mid September Sunshine at Sennen

Had we not had the perfect weather week (10-17 September) for walking, surfing and swimming in our favoured part of West Penwith, 5 of us could have equally snuck down in this extraordinarily well-laid out, well heated (when needed) and well maintained cottage, and read, talked, cooked etc without getting in each other's way.. There was no sense of claustrophobia. The views are superb. Good phone contact and excellent response from Andrew if there are any problems. Next year I believe there will be a washing machine installed. Please don't book it for the same week in 2020. We may want to return! David and Nicola

Delightful cottage in perfect position

Smuggler's Rest is a very cosy, comfortable holiday home with excellent facilities. Lovely touches like wetsuits to borrow, a very well-equipped kitchen, a wide selection of books and DVDs. Mum’s 80th

We had a fabulous few days celebrating my mum’s 80th birthday. We spent many happy holidays as children in Sennen Cove, so my brother and sister and myself decided to take my mum for her birthday. She loved it and managed all the steps, even up to the summer house with the fabulous views at the top of the garden. The cottage is so well equipped, we had everything we could possible need. Look forward to returning again.

We have been holidaying in north Cornwall for many years and Sennen Cove ever since we discovered it in 2008. We have had lovely family holidays here with our teenage children and their friends learning to surf and roaming along the beach. We live in Buckinghamshire and now Andy has retired we are free to come down every month and see the ever changing seasons and views. We see the cottage very much as our home from home and we hope you have a relaxing and lovely stay in our house.

Why they chose this property

It has long been our dream to own a cottage in Cornwall and Smugglers Rest exceeds all our dreams of what a cottage should be. A true cottage character feeling with gorgeous sea views and lovely coastal walks. Sennen Cove has everything you want, huge beach, well run pub, village shop, restaurant, fish and chips, café etc., all within a couple of minutes walk.
We love Smugglers because it is really light and airy, which is a treat in Sennen, with views to the horizon and along the coast, yet spacious and open and comfortable. The views from the terrace are fantastic and the front is a sun-trap.
We couldn't resist the opportunity to purchase the cottage when it came onto the market and are delighted to offer it for holiday lets and hope you enjoy it.

What makes this property unique

Smugglers comfortably sleeps 6 (double and two twin rooms) with great open plan living space. We keep it warm all year round, and there are stunning sea views from every room. Its decorated to a high standard with everything you will need and the high speed fibre to the door Wifi which is hard wired to the summer hut if you wish to work or study there. We have a Smart TV with catch up and Netflicks and an Amazon Echo. There is a summer hut at the top of the garden with extensive views. In the garden shed is a washing / drying machine and table football. We provide a good supply of sundries (washing up liquid, shampoo, bin liners, dishwasher tabs, loo roll) so you don't have to worry about that when you arrive. A couple of the main supermarkets will deliver to the house so you can order in advance.
