The Bessie is a large luxury apartment which forms part of an original Telford granary. The Bessie is a 3 bedroom apartment over two floors on the upper level of Telford House. The original stone granary steps take you up to the lower floor where the living accommodation is located. The property is approx 4m from the water and has fantastic views over the harbour, Burghead Bay and The Moray Firth (which joins into the North Sea).

Always love our stays here

This is a lovely property, ideally situated to watch the wildlife in the harbour and to stretch your legs on the beach. Really comfortable beds, well provided for in terms of facilities and access to wider Moray coast. I'd like to keep this our secret please!

Amazing!

Located right on the harbor with the ability to watch harbor activities 24/7. Beautifully updated this 3 bedroom, 3 bath home was quiet and met all of our needs. Beds and living room furniture were comfortable and well maintained.

Most fabulous view from a VERY comfortable flat

Perfectly decorated, laid out and equipped. The views across the Harbour can't be beat. For us Americans, leaving town for groceries and meals wasn't a hassle - so used to driving. Lovely town and if we were a larger group could have happily prepared all meals there.

Burghead beauty

Plenty of room for 6 adults, 3 bathrooms, 3 bedrooms (although the single beds might be more suited for children as not particulary comfortable.) Living room has big beautiful bay windows overlooking the harbor. Dining table for six, french press for coffee, two sofas, plenty of seating. Beautiful location, walk to Pictish fort, coastal walk to Hopeman, nice restaurant in town.

Charming apartment right on the water

The Bessie is located at the end of the pier with stunning views out to the bay and the harbour. Easy walk to the beach or into town for groceries or a meal (Bothy highly recommended). Wake up to seals playing in the harbour and gulls circling overhead waiting for the fishing boats to come and go. Comfortable beds and furniture, well equipped kitchen. We plan to return!

An absolute gem

Location is second to none. Burghead is a super village but apart from the co op and the superb Bothy Bistro there are no coffee shops or pubs etc which would have been nice. Would go again in a flash tho!

Awesome time at the Burghead apartment

The location of this wonderful apartment was perfect. We were able to walk right outside our door and watch two beautiful sunsets. We had fun watching the fishing boats come and go. My son had fun beachcombing too. The apartment itself was larger than expected. It is beautifully maintained, lovely and bright and overall very comfortable. The kitchen was very well stocked with everything you would ever need for cooking and eating in. The beds were really comfortable. We would definitely stay again if given the opportunity.

Burghead break

The apartment is lovely Views are amazing, we watched the seals swimming in the harbour from the Livingroom window. Very nicely decorated property. One down side we had is there is only one shower in the property in the ensuite bedroom, no shower in the second bathroom just a bath, which when you have six people staying is not ideal. that the only negative to a really nice property, great location and super owner to deal with.

Beautiful location

We had a wonderful stay at the Bessie. The location was beautiful; we loved watching the ocean and enjoyed spening our mornings watching the seals play in front of the flat. Everything was clean and functioning, and we had a wonderful dinner our first night at the Bothy.

We enjoyed a sibling holiday ( three of us ) and it was a perfect property. Beautiful views of the harbour and Moray Firth, and the property was well designed, furnished and comfortable. Would certainly recommend it

Wonderful stay!

The Bessie is such a lovely home away from home. The building and apartment itself has so much character and charm. The views are stunning, I will miss looking out to them with my morning coffee. A lovely 2 mile coastal cycle to Hopeman and a short drive to Findhorn. Plenty of things to do and see, location was fantastic. Easy check in process and the host was very welcoming and easy to contact. We would highly recommend a stay here and would book to stay here again.

Beautiful Bessie!

We stayed in The Bessie for just under a week - the accommodation was beautiful - as was the location; you could never tire of the view. A beautiful beach and harbour right on your doorstep. Ruth was an excellent host. Burghead was very central for the places we wanted to visit, but to be honest we could have quite happily stayed there all day, every day. We cannot wait to visit again (and did not want to leave). Just heavenly x

Great fun in Burghead

We stayed at the Bessie and couldn’t been made to feel more welcome. It’s a beautiful property right on the harbour with stunning sunsets every night... we enjoyed walking the coast line in the day and eating superb food at the Bothy Bistro... Can’t wait plan our next trip there

Beautiful apartment

Really beautifully decorated flat on two floors. Everything you could need, plus Sammy the seal and his pals just outside your window. Don't be put off by no garden, we just took our breakfast out onto the harbour wall, or to the viewing point right next to the building. Make sure to eat at Bootleggers Bothy.

The perfect location for a coastal getaway

We loved this spacious apartment with its magnificent sea views. It had everything you need for a base when exploring this wonderful tucked away corner of Scotland. The open plan layout meant everyone could be together all the time, even when cooking dinner. Although most places were still closed due to covid restrictions, we still managed to get out and about and explore the coastline and woodlands. I would highly recommend this property. The host is very friendly and welcoming and prompt with any necessary communication.

Why they chose this property

We always loved Telford House and it's prominent position in Burghead Harbour. When the booking for The Millie were far better than expected and one of the three bedroom apartments was for sale......

What makes this property unique

We LOVE The Bessie. The Millie maybe has the sauna and the jacuzzi bath with TV, but looking out over the harbour and Moray Firth from The Bessie takes some beating!
