We really enjoyed our time here. The house is in a nice neighborhood and is in a good central location for all of the things to do in the Phoenix area. The house is clean, well outfitted and nicely decorated, and the host was attentive and easy to communicate with. I would definitely stay here again if I go back to Phoenix.
This is the 2nd time we've stayed at this property. We didn't need a 3rd bedroom for this trip, but booked this property anyways, because we knew what to expect. An excellent stay. Our trip was wonderful. No complaints/issues with this home. It's spacious, clean and everything is in working order. The property is just as described. Nice, clean, quiet neighborhood, too.
We were thankful to find pet-friendly accommodations in the Grandview neighborhood, right next to the Melrose District. Highly recommend nearby Copper Star Coffee and taking long walks along the canal path with your dogs! Lots of room in this house, especially in the kitchen, dining room, and family room to spread out and enjoy your stay!
This was the best experience ever from any rental I have ever had! The accommodations were awesome. It was very clean and in a great neighborhood. The host was amazing! We were held over by flight cancellation and cancellation and she let us stay over last minute with no issues. The communication from her was prompt and the entire experience here was the best ever! Thank you again for everything!! Highly recommend if you are coming to the Phoenix area you can Uber anywhere and it is worth it to stay at this house!

Hi Tracy, Thanks for the review. I see you gave us 4 out of 5 stars. What could we have done better? Always looking for ways to improve the guests experience.
Amanda
Just a quick question. If everything was great - location, layout and back yard - why not a 5-star review? What could we have done to earn that extra star?

It was nice
It was a spacious place!! There could have been better outdoor furniture to sit on and a table to eat at outside. The grill could be a bit bigger and it would have been nice if the DVD player worked. But the house was clean and the beds were comfy. We would stay there again.
This property is in a nice neighborhood. It's close to grocery stores, gas stations, restaurants and fun activities for the whole family. The beds are all comfortable. The house was very clean. There is a big tv in the living room and there are smaller tv's in each bedroom, which was great for our kids during down time. I would recommend this house and this host. We would definitely book a reservation here again. I had a couple of questions and communication with the host was great and prompt.
We rented this property because of the location I. The city and the price. When we got there, we were worried about the neighborhood. There are lots of houses in the area, but also a lot of run down businesses. In the end we were all safe, but the feeling wasn’t the best in that area.
The home was OK, but needs some repair and updating. The bathroom door doesn’t close well. It needs to be lifted to close properly. The bases to the beds are made of removable daybeds, but then the beds were comfortable. The lighting in the house are lamps and some were not plugged in and may not work. There was a TV in each room, but they are outdated and small. But they still worked fine.
Overall, a good value for the money, but don’t expect perfection. Enjoy the dated feel and nicely stocked kitchen! That was great. Great communication with the host, and it is centrally located.

I am glad the guest had an overall good experience. The house was built in 1956, and, while it was renovated in 2000 (new roof, plumbing, electrical, insulation, fixtures, drywall, etc), it was purposely decorated to maintain it's "vintage" vibe.
It appears the review is based more on the guests "worries" as opposed to the actual experience. They were "worried" the neighborhood was unsafe but had no negative experiences.
They felt there were "run-down businesses" in the area, which is confusing because this is a residential neighborhood with NO businesses (unless you call the large cemetery located 1/2 block to the northwest a business). The closest actual businesses are located on the major perimeter roads, the closest being a laundromat approximately 1/4 mile to the north.
All bedrooms have 24" TV's that are 3 or less years old. The living room has a 3-year old 60" Roku smart TV.
Don't really understand the comments about lighting, as all rooms have multiple light sources - lighted ceiling fans, recessed lighting in living & dining rooms & kitchen, as well as lamps. If the lamps were unplugged at some point, I am sure most would be capable of plugging them in, or if physically unable to do so, contacting the host for assistance.
As far as the beds go, the only "daybed" frame is that of the daybed in the living room. The twin beds in the front bedroom have traditional metal bedframes, while the queen beds in the other 2 bedrooms have platform frames, which are best suited for the type of mattresses. As stated by the guest, the beds were quite comfortable so not really sure how the "style" of bedframe impacts their stay.
Finally, if one of the doors had an issue, a simple phone call or text to the host would have had someone out to take care of it. As your stay was 30+ days, there was plenty of time and opportunity to do that. The comment in the review is the 1st mention of it. We even specifically ask, in our guide, to let us know if there are any items that need attention. As hosts don't typically stay in their homes, we rely on our guests to keep us informed and appreciate those inputs.

House was reasonably clean and neat. Several items of general home maintenance need attention. Entry keypad was a nightmare, 3 to 10 minutes each time we used it really old and needs replaced. Kitchen was clean except for the coffee maker which obviously hadn’t been cleaned in weeks, coffee residue so thick you couldn’t see through the basket mesh. No coffee for the brewer just dollar store instant coffee. Only one bedroom door was functional, the others don’t stay closed or able to lock. My biggest complaint, was the master bed, only a bottom sheet and an old comforter that hadn’t been laundered in a while. Why no top sheet? Empty bottles of body wash in both showers and no replacements. Had to use shampoo for body wash. Finally, the trash cans outside were overflowing with trash bags, hadn’t been dumped in weeks and the information book inside didn’t say when trash day but we took them to the curb when we saw the neighbors cans out. Never heard from the host while there. Quiet street and neighborhood, close access to freeways.
We had a great time staying at this house. It is ROOMY. Lots of space for adults, teen, baby and dogs. The fenced in private backyard was perfect for our dogs. We LOVED sitting outside in the yard in December and having fires at night.
As mentioned by previous reviews this property does show some age. However, it's safe, comfortable and functional.

We expected everything to be In good operating condition
I need to preface this review by stating the host did give us a 20% refund on our rental cost. Also we owned a rental property and know what our renters expect. We rented this property for three weeks while my partner was going through chemo treatment at Mayo clinic hospital. All we expected was everything to be clean and functional and quite frankly it was much less than that. We would have much rather paid the extra 20% and got what we expected. In my opinion VRBO needs to do a much better job screening rental properties.

You had no issues with the cleanliness of the home during your stay. The vroiler pan was overlooked by the cleaning crew, which I offered to have them come out and clean it, to which you never responded. 2 days before you arrived we had a major spring cleaning done, with the air ducts cleaned and serviced and the carpets and tile steam cleaned. You complained the ice maker was not working, though i explained to you there was no ice maker. You complained the oven did not work, but, when i had the repairman out it was only the digital clock that was not working (which there is a clock 18" above the stove on the microwave. You stated the light in the fridge and microwave wwre not working, but when i went to replace the bulbs they were both working perfectly. I am sorry the experience was not as you hoped but to state the house was not clean is absolutely untrue.
Good spot to get to all of Phoenix. Light rail is about 3 blocks away. Plenty of dining and shopping within walking distance.

Roomy home, great location
We enjoyed our stay here very much. We had very few problems, and Amanda was available to quickly take care of all of them. The house was roomy and had an area where we could set up a sewing machine. The house is located close to a number of attractions. It is located between 7th Ave and 15th Ave. There is a grocery store and a post office a mile either side of 7th and a mall a couple miles down 15th. One of our party had to have chemo while there, and it was about a 25 min drive to the hospital.
