An exceptionally well equipped cottage with everything you could possibly need for a vacation stay. Quiet location with great trails for walking and biking. Very close to Rathtrevor Provincial Park, practically across the street. Close to Parksville and all of the town's amenities. Karen was wonderfully easy to communicate with and responded to all my questions. Lucky us, we had exceptional weather too in which to enjoy the area.

Summer Vacation

We love Parksville and made use of all the amenities at this resort. The property was accurately advertised and we loved the privacy offered on the back patio. We will be definitely returning to Oceanside Resort.

The Perfect Family Getaway

We loved everything about our stay. The cottage was spotless and was located in a beautiful, quiet community. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals. Our kids loved the mini golf course and swimming in the pool. Rathtrevor Beach was just a short drive away. Karen was a wonderful host and provided detailed instructions that made check-in super easy.

Great Vacation at Hummingbird Cottage

It’s the perfect place for a family. Amenities including pool & amusement park within walking distance; shopping & restaurants, a 5-10 min drive. And of course the beach & a kids water park nearby as well. The cottage itself is immaculate & well maintained. Overall, the perfect family getaway!

Fantastic Family Getaway

This is our second family vacation at Hummingbird, and we LOVED it. Karen is easy to communicate with and her cottage is just as described. It works perfectly for our multi-generational family getaway, and the location could not be better. Already looking forward to booking next year!

We have lived on Vancouver Island for the past fifteen years.
We were drawn to the Island by the stunning beauty, moderate climate and abundance of activities offered year round.
Time spent with family, including our two dogs is what matters the most to us and we enjoy those times especially when we are able to spend them having picnics at any one of the numerous beaches and parks in the area, kayaking or taking in one of the many festivities like beach days and the world class sandcastle competition.
We love to watch the sunset at Qualicum Beach or the Parksville Community Park beach and in the spring and summer viewing cruise ships headed to Alaska are an added bonus to the already spectacular sights of ocean and mountains and wildlife.

Why they chose this property

As we already have one cottage at the resort and enjoy it immensely, it only made sense to purchase a second cottage so that visitors could come to Vancouver Island year round and have the opportunity to experience the beauty of Vancouver Island.

What makes this property unique

Hummingbird Cottage is in a unique location in that it offers close proximity to an abundance of outdoor activities such as beach combing, whale watching, fishing, golfing and hiking to name a few as well as walking distance to restaurants, lounges and spas and very short driving distances to city amenities such as stores, banks. ice skating rinks and theatres.
