Very peaceful and comfortable cottage in lovely surroundings

Hi Stephen, It was great to have you and I’m so pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay! Kind regards, Emily

It was a pleasure having this group from Europe. They seemed to enjoy eating home-made cakes and meeting locals on the green at the weekend!

Thanks, Ann and Malc. Am so pleased you enjoyed your stay and yes, Sydling is wonderful!

Thanks so much, Ruth - am very glad you had a peaceful stay and enjoyed the cottage inside and out. It’s pretty spacious downstairs for a 2-bedroom cottage. Thanks for keeping the plants alive!

Am so pleased to hear that David and his family group had a happy time in Sydling. For those looking for a peaceful break in a very friendly village, it would be hard to beat Sydling!

It was really nice communicating with Diane and I’m glad she gave an up-to-date recommendation for the pub which is under new ownership but the food is as good as ever. I take her point about the curtains upstairs being ‘a little tired’ and that is something to act on. Otherwise the furniture is of good quality and in keeping with a 1920s cottage.

Was delighted to read this review and hear how much this group had liked the cottage and the area. There is always plenty going on in Dorset but peaceful Sydling is also just the place for people who just want to relax, maybe go for local walks and perhaps visit the pub.

It was just great to read that you so much enjoyed your week at the cottage. Since the lockdowns It’s been even more important to us that the visitors really enjoy their holidays away and am very happy that the cottage was what you wanted. Thank you also for leaving it so tidy - much appreciated as just for once I arrived before the cleaners, and late at night!

It was good to hear this group thought the cottage was excellent overall. The headroom is about 6' in the doorways of the 2 bedrooms and for three paces in the short passage between the 2nd bedroom to the bathroom. The ceiling height in the bedrooms and bathroom is about 9'. The main bathroom is a good size and while the space in the shower room/toilet had to be restricted it is still a useful addition to a two-bedroom cottage.

Thank you so much for those kind words, Sam, and I was very pleased to hear that there were several things you enjoyed about your time in Sydling. I do hope you will come again one day.

It was good to hear about your holiday and I hope the Hardy trips lived up to your imagination! Thank you for writing a nice review and for letting me know about the floorboard on the stairs.

One of the best things to hear from visitors is that their holiday had been just what they wanted - hopefully that means the description of the cottage and area has been accurate and truthful!

Thanks so much, David, it was a real pleasure to have you both. I’m so glad you had the best of the weather so saw the cottage, Sydling (very pretty at the worst of times) and Dorset at their best!

It was so satisfying to hear how much Diana and her husband had enjoyed their stay at the cottage. Most people are going through difficult times so the owner does feel extra responsibility for visitors having the best time that they can. These model guests found plenty to enjoy in the area and am hoping they will come again.

It was good to hear this group liked the quiet area and found plenty to do while they were here. Our regular visitors seem to find different things to see and do, despite coming every year.

Am very glad Gillian was able to settle down comfortably at the cottage leading up to Christmas. She is so right about the lovely walks round here and the scenery is spectacular. As she says, don’t forget to go to the pub! It has been lovely having her.

Sorry for the late reply, Justin - I was reminded when answering another one! I was so pleased you had a great time as it was a long way to come so it was doubly important that you had a memorable holiday.

It was very nice to have these visitors and hear that they had enjoyed their holiday in deepest West Dorset!

It was lovely to have this couple and to hear how much they had enjoyed their stay. It’s very satisfying to be able to offer somewhere in a beautiful village ‘away from it all’ and in idyllic countryside.

It was very nice to have you both back, June, and that you had another great holiday. It sounds as though you covered miles when out walking! We very much hope you will come again another time.

I am so pleased to hear that the cottage was in the right place for the things you wanted to do. Thank goodness there were no further lockdowns and everyone was able to get here this summer. It would be good to have you back if you think of coming to Dorset again.
