Short walk from Carbis Bay Beach, St Ives Cornwall
Perfect for couples but with sofa bed for up to 2 extra guests, The Boat House is a self contained annexe adjacent to the house. Nestled in the garden, which provides pretty garden views backing onto a small wooded area, with some sea glimpses (especially in winter) through the trees, particularly from the balcony. The apartment has a light, bright and airy feel. It is comfortable and inviting while being a really good base from which to explore St Ives and the surrounding area. It is centrally heated, so comfortable for both summer and winter stays. With a King sized bed, en-suite shower room, well equipped kitchen with oven/microwave and hob, coffee machine, washing machine, comfortable sitting room with TV. The location is ideal for those looking for a fun packed outdoors holiday full of surf and sun, as well as those who prefer, galleries, shops and good food. Situated approximately 5-10 mins walking distance of the Blue Flag accredited Carbis Bay beach, which is a popular beach with good facilities, perfect for swimming, paddle boarding, kayaking etc (see Ocean Sports on Carbis Bay Beach). There are a handful of restaurants in Carbis Bay, a Tesco supermarket and a local shop and post office. There are a number of good walks open to you right on your doorstep. Walk up the hill to Knills monument with it’s stunning panoramic views of the coastline and the local countryside. Follow the coast path East to the quieter Porth Kidney Beach, accessible only via the coast paths. Follow the Coast Path West to get to St Ives (approximatly 25 mins easy walk), with it’s Boutique shops and Galleries, award winning Restaurants, Cosy Pubs and Bars. The local area is packed with things to do, contact (St Ives Tourist information) and we are happy to advise as best we can on local attractions. There is a small local train station approximately 5 mins walk form the Boat House, that runs between St Ives and St Erth, stopping at Carbis Bay, providing access to Main Line trains at St Erth. The Boat house is situated on the main bus route both to St Ives, and also to other destinations such as Penzance and Truro. There is a Taxi rank in St Ives and we can provide you with details of local companies There are 3 steps into the property and the driveway is a little uneven in places so please take care. There is parking for one vehicle on the drive. EV Charger available upon request, a fee of 0.55p kwh to be charged separately. Pets considered at extra £20 per stay, cost to be applied separately. You may use the garden but please be aware of the wobbly and uneven steps. The immediate area is residential so please respect the neighbours. I supply bathroom towels but you may want to bring beach towels. I also supply a starter pack of tea, coffee, milk and sugar and toilet roll. There are Honey Bees at the end of the garden. They should not affect your stay in any way as they are far enough away form the accommodation, but please keep clear of the hive. You will have your own space and I will give you as much privacy as possible, but I will be more than happy to help you out with local information and recommendations. It's up to you, just ask!

Gorgeous property
A lovely well maintained and clean property. Perfect location for exploring Carbis Bay and St Ives.
We will definitely return!
We had a fabulous time at the boathouse! The house is well appointed with everything we needed and more. The house is conveniently located close to the beach and a great place to base from to explore Cornwall. We would highly recommend this property for anyone looking for a quiet beach getaway.
Had a lovely stay at The Boat House, it had everything we needed for a weeks stay for the two of us and the dog. Lovely beach nearby, great transport links into St. Ives, just 3 minutes on the train, station a short walk from the property. Had gorgeous fish & chips from Becks chippy down the road, highly recommended. Jackie & Tim were great hosts, we really enjoyed our stay.

Lovely to meet you, thanks for being perfect guests;)
We had a great stay at the Boathouse. The space was thoughtfully put together and extremely clean. Jackie was easy to communicate with and ensured we had all we needed for a great stay. The location is a good launching point, near the Carbis Bay station and beach but a 20-30 minute walk into St. Ives. That being said, the walk is easy and very beautiful on the coast, so I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
Loved this place…wishing we we staying longer
Beautiful garden and flowers. There were 3 of us and we had plenty of room
Wonderful hosts. Would love to return
Property well situated for bus and train services.Local shops nearby and access to coastal path and beaches.Comfortable accomadation with helpful hosts who live next door.A good base to explore the area.
This is a very well planned space, attractively furnished, well equipped and comfortable. The balcony is a lovely addition, giving partial sea views through the trees. Beautiful location for enjoying coastal path walks. The hosts are quietly friendly and communication was great. We plan to return!

It was a pleasure to meet you, thanks for looking after the place so well, looking forward to your next visit :)
With 2 bedrooms - one in the living room, the boathouse suited our needs perfectly as a couple with one teenager. A short 15 min. bus ride took us into St. Ives where we spent most of the day. The kitchen and bathroom was very modern, comfortable and clean. We loved the outdoor balcony and garden views. A bit hard to find with Satnav, but with the very good communication, we managed. Overall a very pleasant stay and we will return.

Hope you had a lovely time, you’d be welcome back any time :)
The property is more than the description with everything, plus extras included. It is a nice quiet location and only 1 minute from the bus stop for all areas and St Ives is 6 minutes away. Parking is easy and off the road. St Ives parking is NOT good and we would recommend anyone to use the bus, even though the bus terminates half way into the town centre, and so it is down hill from there and up hill back. Local to the property (6 minute walk) is a Tesco. If you put the post code into your sat nav it will say you have arrived on your left but it should say right. We have no qualms in recommending this accommodation it is everything plus.

excellent stay!!
We had a really great couple of nights in the boathouse, throughouly enjoyed our stay as we had everything we needed and more! Warm welcome from Jackie and with st ives being a short distance away we had loads to explore. Tesco was 5 a minute walk away, perfect for self catering. As for the actual boathouse itself it was a great experience with working heating, amazing shower, bed and furniture with instructions on how everything works! Overall great stay and would be very tempted to stay again. Thanks to Jackie and Tim for having us!
P.S we met Nick Knowles in a local bar which made our stay:)

A real gem. Good location, excellent quality, great hosts.
The boat house was absolutely perfect for what we needed. It was well equipped, in a good location, had a great layout and feel. We met the owners who were lovely. It was a lovely touch that Jackie provided some tea, coffee and milk for our arrival. We’d recommend the boat house for couples needing a base to explore. We would love to return.

Great location in a lovely place
The place is a side detached annexe to the house, decorated very nicely. Jackie was brilliant in leaving some milk for us and leaving us to our own during the stay, there was parking on the drive. The train station into st ives is a 3 minute walk downhill (cheaper and easier with no car) and takes a few mins to get there, hayle is also a 5 minute drive.

A real Gem in an amazing location.
We have just had a 2 night break in the boathouse. 2 adults and 2 children and we had such an amazing time. The boathouse is gorgeous and is fully equipped with everything you need even has a milk in the fridge :) Jackie and Tim were so helpful and the communication with Jackie from the minute I booked was second to none. The bed is massive and so comfy and I adored the heated floor in the bathroom. We was left to our own devices which was brilliant. It's a real home from home. We couldn't fault the location. 5 minute walk to the amazing carbis bay beach and to the station when you can get a train into st ives for 2 pound return. There's Tesco around the corner too. Anyone thinking of taking a trip to Carbis bay shouldn't hesitate to stay at the boathouse and explore Carbis Bay and St Ives. You won't regret it. Thanks again Jackie xxx

Lovely little getaway for two
Ideally located for Carbis Bay Beach although its a very very steep walk. Local tesco close by as well as a nice local pub (Cornish Arms) and a fab little spanish restaurant (La Casita) all within walking distance. Bus stop right outside the property which was fab as we opted for St Ives beach as much easier to access and the bus cost £3.30 single for myself and my daughter.
Upon arrival at the Boathouse which was very easy to find with ample parking we we pleasantly surprised by the Boathouse. It sits alongside the garden of the owners house. It was tastefully decorated, the double bedroom was roomy and the bed comfy. The shower was great too! The lounge area was plenty big enough for two people and a comfortable stay for the 4nights we were there.
If I could have changed anything it probably would have been to have some rugs as the floor was cold in the mornings and evenings and perhaps an outside seating area especially for the warmer weather.
Jackie and Tim were very friendly and welcoming and I will definately recommend the Boathouse to some of my friends.

Thanks for your feed back Alison, the walk from the beach is quite steep if you are not used to hills! There is a bench outside under the bedroom window you can use (don't know if you noticed it as you came in). We are planning a little balcony (hence the French windows) that is phase 2, coming soon. There are rugs in the bedroom but I will look into getting a rug for the living room maybe, especially as the weather gets a little colder. Glad you enjoyed your stay. Jackie :)

There are loads of lovely places to eat and drink, galleries, museums and boutique shops galore. The air is clean, the sand is white and the water is blue.
