Your families Ideal location for the 2020’s. In a private road and a secluded setting with its own front door just far enough away from the bustle of St ives and yet within easy reach if you desire. Overlooking Carbis Bay with the facilities of the Carbis Bay Hotel a 10 minute walk away. In the other direction can be found the Tregenna Castle hotel with its golf course which is also a 10 minute walk. Go to bed with the doors open and you will fall asleep to the sound of the sea; step out onto the covered balcony and be instantly connected with the coast line and beach. You may even spot dolphins in the Bay. Have breakfast outside under cover in the early morning sun and plan whether to go out or simply stay where you are. The view is stunning. This Light Filled apartment is on the first floor of an Edwardian Country House which was built for the St Ives School of Artists. There are 2 bathrooms (one en-suite), with a large, high ceilinged Bedroom with Sea views and a door to the Balcony. The Main living room is double aspect with French Windows also leading onto the balcony. The kitchen/diner has a range cooker, fridge, freezer, washing machine and dish washer. The property is set in a Sub Tropical Garden It is accessed via 2 sets of steps down from the lane outside. It is suitable for couples of all ages and those with children, however, children should be supervised on the balcony. There are 7 other properties in the building, some of which are private residencies and not rented out. The house is situated in Treloyhan which is the most exclusive area of St Ives. In springtime the scent of wild garlic is wonderful. The house is ideally situated 100 metres from the South West Coast Path. The whole area is a haven for wildlife which includes Owls, Buzzards, Green Woodpecker and a myriad of smaller birds. Foxes and Badgers may be glimpsed. Specimen trees are in abundance in the area. The best way to enjoy all of this is by walking. The pedestrian pathway leads through the Gardens on the Seaward side of the house down a pathway lined with ancient moss covered granite walls to Haines Walk . Then you must decide whether to turn right to Carbis Bay where you can enjoy the facilities of the Carbis Bay Hotel, the beach with its water sports and marvellous walks or turn left towards St Ives itself. The location is perfect. Another option is to walk to the Tregenna Castle Hotel where you can be enjoying a round of golf within 10 minutes with probably the best view of St Ives from the 12th Fairway! Tescos is also a 10 minute walk as is our local the Cornish Arms. This is genuinely a special place. This apartment is also perfect to explore the Poldark series locations.

Nice apartment. Quite tired I’d say.The rear entrance is pretty ugly with scaffolding across the entrance ramp.As weather was great it worked but felt a bit unloved.

Thank you for your comments. I am not sure what you mean by the suite but the 2 sofas have washable covers and my excellent cleaner has assured me that they are fine. Before you arrived the apartment was cleaned to a very high standard so your description is not what we recognise. Pleased that you enjoyed the rest of the apartment which you found to be good or very good. Yes, the views are amazing.
Absolutly amazing place to stay, beautiful views lovely walks to beaches.
The apartment is very clean and comfortable to stay in.
This was our second time staying here and can highly recomend .

Thank you Tina for your great review and hope you can come back again soon.
A quiet, relaxing place to stay with a fabulous view over Carbis Bay. Be prepared for the challenging up and downs of the paths at first… however after a few days it was a real pleasure to walk into St Ives and back and Carbis Bay and back. Would stay again.

A perfect place to enjoy the beauty of the Cornish coast . We keep returning because it provides us with everything we want . Looking forward to coming back
We could not think of a better place to stay. Carbis Bay is beautiful and St. Ives in good and pretty walking distance (15-20 minutes). The appartment is very quiet, sitting on the balcony is very relaxing.

Gillie, thank you for this and hope you can come back soon
Delightful cottage - well equipped and in an excellent location . Beautiful panoramic views over Carbis Bay , private entrance onto beautiful, woodland trail to Carbis Bay ( taking approximately 20 minutes to beach)
Beautiful comfortable master bedroom - with access to balcony . Wonderful cottage .
Delightful cottage with stunning views of Carbis Bay and the property’s own beautiful gardens. Step onto the coastal path from the garden access and walk to the beach in ten. Excellent amenities with super eat in kitchen, laundry, spacious living room and pretty bedrooms. We enjoyed many meals on the balcony, listening to the breaking ocean waves. Wifi and quick walking access to Tesco. Take the footpath to St Ives and beyond along the stunning coastal path.No car needed to enjoy this property (we walked from Carbis rail), however parking is available anyway.

We really enjoyed our stay. The view was stunning ... we were sad to leave and are still missing that view and being able to hear the lovely sounds of the sea ... very relaxing. My only criticism is that the bed in the main bedroom could be a bit bigger (it's only standard size) and more comfortable, although it may of course suit other people.

I loved the view from the balcony, it was so peaceful sitting there drawing and painting. The walk along the coastal path into St Ives is about 15 minutes, with trees, lovely houses to look at, and views the whole way. Would definitely go back.

Thank you Carol; a great description of this beautiful area of St Ives and Carbis Bay. I’m really pleased that you enjoyed your holiday.
We stayed for a week at this Edwardian flat situated high above Carbis Bay and near the coastal path. We woke up to coastal views from the master bedroom and I often had my coffee looking out to the sea. The property has a nice balcony with grand views up the coastline. If you like historical properties you'll like this place. The kitchen is well equipped and the listing description is accurrate. I would highly recommend this place.

Very out dated needs a lot of work but the views made up for that, not to say you shouldn’t spend money on it because compared to the property next door it very poor inside needs new sofas and bed bathrooms need updating

A spacious , light apartment with fabulous views .
We were greeted by Jill who was friendly and very helpful . The apartment was homely and spacious .We were also greeted with vases of flowers and a bottle of wine . Views from the bedroom and verandah were stunning . Access to the coastal path directly from the garden was ideal . We enjoyed lots of fabulous walks into St Ives and beyond .
Our only criticism was the allocated parking space , it was not always free and turning a larger car in such a congested area was tricky .

Thank you for your lovely comments. Please accept our apologies for the parking issue - We would always advise visitors to speak to Jill who will rectify the problem.
We had the most amazing week in Carbis Bay, made all the better by a week of blue skies and hot (for May) sun.
The apartment is in a great location with clear views over Carbis Bay and out towards Godrevy Lighthouse. It was clean and tidy when we arrived with a well stocked kitchen which felt more akin to a second home being rented out than a commercial rental property.
Due to its location above the western end of Carbis Bay, it was a downhill walk via the Southwest Coastal Path (although paved, it is steep in places) to either St Ives (for a mooch around the shops or popping into a restaurant or two) or Carbis Bay Beach for a day messing around in the sea.

About the host
Hosted by Susie
We love this area and property and were visiting regularly but we now have grandchildren and busy lives so able to let the apartment for others to enjoy.
Why they chose this property
Our first sightings of the coast line here were of huge areas of golden beaches glimpsed through the trees as we wondered down to the sea shore. The tide was out and we instantly fell in love with the scenery.
What makes this property unique
Glorious golden sandy beaches, lots of trees, clean air and friendly people. Supermarket less than 5 minutes and close to the sea-side town of St Ives and yet we enjoy total tranquillity and stunning sea- views. 100 metres stroll through the sub-tropical gardens down to the West Coast Path. You can sit out in all weathers under the cover of the balcony gazing out onto the Bay and at the unspoilt coastline. Numerous cafés and restaurants nearby in Carbis Bay or. St Ives. Endless places to visit with the South coast and nearby rivers for day trips. To quote from a guests review "Spent a great week here with a very warm welcome and special welcoming touches that made us feel very at home. The views really are incredible and we didn’t want to leave. We hope we can come back soon. A great place to explore with lovely coastal walks on your doorstep. A little slice of heaven."
