We love staying at Jackpot! The owner communicates extremely well and the condo is perfect! The ocean views are awesome and we love sitting on the balcony watching sunrise! We will be going back!

Stayed for a week at end of August 2026, still hot, but deck (facing east) was delightful. Kitchen clean and well-stocked with dishes etc. Bedrooms quiet and peaceful, one with view. Provided sheets and towels much appreciated. Too many good restaurants nearby. A gem of a place.

Nice ocean front property. There were cockroaches, a few each day in our main room and living room otherwise everything was very clean. The patios are wonderful but felt hazardous with a toddler (gaps in the corners we closed by placing chairs, nails slightly up but not nothing was sharp). For an adult they are great. For check in and out we needed to go to the owners home to pick up keys but at least it is close to the property otherwise no issues with check in or check out. Overall we enjoyed our stay and had a great time.

I am so sorry about the bugs you encountered. What you saw are not the typical German "cockroaches" that infest a home because of uncleanliness. They are much larger bugs that are in the roach family which we refer to as "Water Bugs" here. We call them that because rain water and high humidity causes them to be on the move looking for a dry place. We had several rain events and lots of humidity in the days prior to your arrival, both of which will drive them indoors where it is dry. They are fast and sneaky and can slip in the sliding door or front door without being noticed. Unfortunately it is a part of coastal life that we have no control over. The entire complex has regular pest control treatments so if any bugs do happen to enter the condo they will certainly die quickly. You apparently encountered them soon after their entry before the pesticide had time to disable and kill them. There is nothing that will keep them from around the outside areas because the solution used by the pest control company gets washed away by the rain. I'm truly sorry that they were so active while you were here!

This was my first visit to Emerald Isle and I loved the location of this property not only for the beach access, but it's proximity to restaurants and stores. The location is convenient yet provides optimal beach vibes. The view did not disappoint! The weather, however, can be a spoiler. We had a rainy day and took advantage of indoor activities like the aquarium down at the other end of the island. We enjoyed the aquarium more than expected but the soggy day was a bit of a disappointment compared to how magical the location is when there is sun! The condo decor was lovely and the kitchen was beautiful and handy with plenty dishes, utensils and kitchen tools - everything I think one could need! Only suggestions to make it better would be nit-picky - my kids wished the TV in the living room was bigger for movie viewing especially on the rainy day. And beach toys would be a bonus because we made a couple of trips out to purchase items we didn't have. We knew the condo didn't come with beach items but our travel arrangements made it difficult to come with our own gear. I would definitely come back to Emerald Isle and would stay at this property again if available. The name "jack pot" is very fitting!

The condo was very clean, updated, and being right on the beach was great. The balconies offer a good view of the beach which was easy to access via a ramp--no stairs.Jean, the host, was responsive and solved a few problems we encountered. I would much rather deal with the owner than a management company. You have to go by her home to pick up and drop off the key, parking pass, etc., but she lives very close to Emerald Isle.
