A beautiful cottage with everything we needed. The owners left a bottle of wine and cakes to enjoy which was much appreciated. The hot tub was fabulous and perfect after a long walk.
Lisa is a wonderful host. The cottage is spotless and she really tried to make it comfortable for us. She left us some treats (much appreciated). The cottage is decorated nicely, and has a fully equipped kitchen. The setting is just incredible. So picturesque overlooking a valley and beautiful grassland landscape of rolling mountains. The place is about 15-20 minutes drive from the Roman Baths downtown. There is a Waitrose and Partners grocery store near the baths, which is where you will find specialty foods and organic groceries. You won’t go wrong if you choose this place, I highly recommend it.
100% absolutely stunning property, everything catered for, beautiful decor, totally recommend this place , hot tub was spot on. Host was great. Will definitely be returning .
Lisa and Mike were wonderful hosts! The house is in a wonderful location, surrounded by beautiful, hilly scenery and local wildlife (e.g. sheep and a solitary deer in the neighbouring farm!). It was extremely warm, clean and tidy on arrival, and we had all the utensils we needed to cater for ourselves during our stay. We also found that Lisa had left us some freshly baked homemade cupcakes on the table & a complimentary bottle of wine in the fridge — such a lovely touch. Then, once we’d settled in, Mike also came to give us a friendly, in-person welcome, and make sure we knew how everything worked, including the wood burning fireplace and, most importantly, the hot tub, which was what we were most excited about! He then left us to our own devices but let us know that they were located right nearby if we needed anything during our stay. All in all, we had the most wonderful weekend away at The Stables, and we hope to be back again soon
We stayed for 3 nights with our teen girls and dog. Fantastic facilities, hot tub a massive plus and everything you need is there. Lovely walks and pubs also very close to Bath. Would love to come back again!
Fun weekend in Bath cosy accommodation, with relaxed outdoor area. Bonus of good weather so enjoyed the hot tub , BBcue and tennis. Def an area to explore more as only skimmed surface of walking routes and local pubs !
Fantastic place with everything you could need and more. The small details and finishing touches were brilliant. Beautiful location and ideal for visiting Bath and the surrounding countryside. The hosts were brilliant and couldn't do enough for us. The property is unique and perfectly sized with the hot tub and pool a real treat!
We loved our few days here. The converted barn was wonderfully decorated making it a really enjoyable experience for us. We really enjoyed lighting the log fire in the evenings as well as using the hot tub which was a great way to relax after spending a day in Bath. Thank you Lisa.
Fantastic hosts, excellent communication and response to queries. Beautiful boutique style decor- exceptional location to escape- This would be paradise if we had good weather as caters for all
Highly recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Superb long barn with beautiful views, Lisa has exceptional taste with the decor of her holiday let. No corners have been cut and luxury and tranquility were both experienced in our stay
We will be back!
The only words I have for this property is absolutely fabulous! Accommodation, facilities, hosts, views, just everything! Would absolutely recommend! The Old Crown pub was a mile away, with amazing food and hospitality, a stones throw from Bath this accommodation has it all tranquility and views to die for! Thank you Lisa and Mike we will be back!!
Quiet setting, well kept cottage with great facilities.
Able to walk from the door but teens able to access Bath for shopping!
Hot tub a special treat.
Many thanks to the hosts, we'll be back 😊
Really enjoyed our stay here. The location is stunning, the accommodation delightful and the owners were very friendly and helpful. Lots of little extra touches, such as homemade cakes (delicious!), chocolates, a bottle of wine in the fridge and flowers in the lounge and bedrooms. Spotlessly clean, including the hot tub. Just a short and easy drive to Bath. Thank you so much.
Lovely property with everything we needed. The private swimming pool and tennis court were great and kept us busy all week. We didn’t use the kitchen much as we spent our evenings outside on the decking cooking on the barbecue.
There are walks and bike rides from the property and Bath and Bristol are short drives away.
Lisa and Mike were great hosts and very helpful both when we were there and also when responding to messages.
A beautiful part of the world and the property provides a luxurious base to explore it from.
We stayed here for a weekend to celebrate a friends birthday. This property is just amazing. As you walk in you're greeted with the most incredible smell! Lisa has paid a lot of attention to finer details and there is a real feel of luxury. The views are just stunning. The weather was fantastic and we made good use of the pool and hot tub which were both perfect. We just didnt want to leave. Thank you for a perfect weekend.

Fantastic place to celebrate
We spent 5 days at the Stables for our Ruby Wedding Anniversary and had a fabulous time. The Stables is gorgeously decorated and luxuriously appointed. The log burner and the hot tub were a great delight. The cakes , wine, flowers and chocolates on arrival were also much appreciated. One small point however the decking outside is getting a little old and was slippery when wet.

I glad you enjoyed your time at The Stables particularly as it was a special occasion.
Unfortunately the nature of decking is that it is slippy when wet which is why we have matting down so guests don’t have to walk on it when wet. However I have taken note of your comment and will look into putting up some signage and appreciate your time in posting this review.
We stayed here for four nights with our two over 18 year old sons and our two dogs. Had a brilliant time ! My husband and sons loved the tennis court and we all loved the hot tub. Didn’t use the car at all. You can walk cross country to the nearest Tesco on the outskirts of bath ( around 4 miles). Lots of walks from the door. Barn is cosy and beautiful and very private . Hosts very friendly but respectful of your privacy.
Lisa and Mike were EXCEPTIONAL hosts. They communicated with us thoroughly, weren’t invasive to us, left us alone but were there at any beckoning call. The property and the neighborhood are GORGEOUS GORGEOUS GORGEOUS. I can’t get over the beauty of the area and the proximity to Bath and Bristol cannot be understated. Hearing the geese with their morning flybys and you can really feel the ghosts of history’s past, all around you. The sheep in the distance. Right down the hill from historic battlefields. We need some peace and serenity from the world have given us so far this year and the this property DELIVERED. I can’t wait to return every time we come back to this beautiful country.Thank you Lisa!
We went to Bath for a few days and stayed at the Barn. Lisa could not have done enough to make us feel comfortable. The attention to detail was lovely, from fresh flowers, a well-stocked house and very clean. We had two labs with us and they were safe and made to feel very welcome. We didn't use the pool as it was too cold due to the recent rains but made good use of the tennis court and hot tub. Thank you Lisa and Mike for everything.
Very well appointed. All high end fittings.
Unless you are extremely active and have good hiking boots you need a car to drive to local pubs. They are worth the visit, especially the Swan. About a 3-4 mile drive into Bath. Property is down a short unmade road after a 0.5 mile drive up a steep single lane road. Only real disappointment about property was lack of a tumbler dryer which made laundry difficult on rainy days. Very poor internet connection which is just down to location. We loved our stay and rated 5 stars. Thank you for flowers, wine and chocolates on arrival.
