Fine little cottage.Fine location.Helpful host.Well restored.Thoughtful facilities, but the shower would benefit from a hand rail and non-slip floor finish inside tie enclosure.
We can’t praise this property enough. The location, the layout, the facilities, the cleanliness, the communication and the garden were all perfect. We only wish we could have stayed longer. Would love to come back for a longer stay. Thank you so much.
We had a lovely weekend at this beautiful cottage - perfectly peaceful, and we loved sitting in front of the log burner in cold evenings! Would 100% recommend.
Beautiful cosy cottage, well equipped with everything you could need, in a great location for walks and attractions further afield.
Weather was awful during our March stay but watching the snow and rain from the comfort of the cottage, reading Infront of the woodburner was a wonderful way to spend a weekend!
The cottage is such a cozy, calm and peaceful place to stay, the cows on the adjacent meadow are grazing slowly. It is perfect for a hike around Stoke St Michael, alongside brooks and abandoned places to discover. A perfect base for daily tours, no matter if up to Bath, the coast, or to more hikes, ruins, castles, cathedrals.
Cottage just georgous, lovely and quiet. We had a good rest whilst enjoying the local sites of Wells and Frome. We enjoyed a meal at the Oakhill pub at the end of the road, a very good recommendation.
Beds were compfy, shower good, everything you need kitchen wise, garden great for our small dogs. The fire was great and we were kept very warm. For us, the sofa was the only downside.
Ultimately we loved our stay ❤️
They left wonderful signs to indicate our directions to find the beautiful cottage, and when we got there we were in awe of the beautiful view and landscape. There is a beautiful grassy yard to play in when the weather is nice and when it’s a bit cold the living room has these beautiful glass doors so you can still feel the surroundings. They have really put a welcoming energy and feel in this home away from home!
Beautiful cottage in a quiet spot with lovely walks on the doorstep.
Cottage is well equipped and tastefully furnished. Garden is pretty with views of rolling countryside.
The enclosed garden, walks and having a good sized boot/utility room was great with our dog for drying off muddy paws/contained sleeping space.
Lovely touches on arrival with fresh flowers in the kitchen and milk in the fridge, biscuits and tea/coffee.
A great spot for getting out to see more of Somerset.
It was a fantastic house, it had a great garden.
But….. there was only one coutch, en 2 little chairs.
The garden was big, but only four metal hard chairs.
We missed a nice one, or two or three or four to ly down in the garden.
But it was great, we liked Bristol, Glastonbury, Bath, Wells. Al lot of musea. The dog was very welcome in all these places.
We could see all the places on my list.
One week was to short

Many thanks for your review and suggestion. I have bought sun loungers for the patio.
We stayed for 5 days in this beautiful and quiet cottage. The communication regarding the arrival with Nick was excellent. We were greeted by a clean, detached house furnished with attention to detail. It was wonderful to look out over the countryside in the morning. Everything was available in the kitchen. The beds were very hygienically made and sleeping on good mattresses was good for our health. We are grateful that our old dog Elsa was allowed to stay with us. The property is fenced, so we didn't have to worry about her running away.
It was our first time in England and we are very grateful to have found such a nice place to stay. The fresh flowers on the windowsill in the kitchen were also lovely:=)

Warm cosy cottage very well equipped and welcoming. Lovely quiet location. Easy booking process and check in could not have been easier. Thanks to Nick for the welcome pack.
There are no words to express how grateful we are to have experienced the peace and serenity of Home Cottage. Everything was comfortable and clean, and we wanted for nothing. During the heatwave we lay under our shade tree and contemplated the life of a dairy herd whilst being cooled by constant breezes. There were rabbits to watch, a woodpecker at the birdfeeder, and a very healthy fox out on the footpath!
Thank you, Nick, for providing such a comfortable break, and we will be recommending your cottage to our friends and family.
Wonderful cottage with great access links to local places lovely walks straight from the doorstep and a very comfortable and cosy place to relax. Nick the owner was super helpful too and the location was incredibly peaceful. Would 100% recommend and return
Not isolated, but you're in your own space. Simple and comfortable.

Originally from London,we fell in love with this beautiful and peaceful part of Somerset and bought our house (just up the track from the cottage) seventeen years ago as our weekend place. I now live here full-time and my boys go to school in Bath.
Why they chose this property
We live on the edge of the Mendips, just outside the village of Stoke St Michael, on the road to Oakhill.
There is lots of walking to be done straight from the cottage. A particular favourite of ours takes us down through the valley to Stoke Bottom and the nature reserves of Edford and Harridge Woods, which are owned by the Somerset Wildlife Trust. For food shopping, there is a Londis shop and post office, a ten minute walk away in Stoke St Michael.
Local pubs within walking distance include the Oakhill Inn (great pub food and draught beers), The Knatchbull Arms, Stoke St Michael (friendly pub with a more basic offering) and The Duke of Cumberland at Edford. For a real gourmet experience, jump in the car and try the Talbot Inn in the beautiful village of Mells (5 miles)
What makes this property unique
The cottage has just been completed and is finished to a high standard, to make a comfortable, cozy, peaceful and relaxing place to stay
