Rest and enjoy what is best for the Alentejo Coast in this modern village house, 800m from a beautiful beach practically unknown on the Costa Vicentina.

A modern family villa with garden and private garage. The house has 2 bedrooms, a suite for couples (with bathroom with bath) on the upper floor. The other bedroom has two single beds perfect for children. There is also another bathroom with shower on the ground floor.

The living room has a large sofa. After a rewarding day you can rest and watch TV (cable channels) or browse the web (wi-fi and cable connection available). In this spacious room also has a large dining table.

The kitchen is fully equipped with all necessary accessories: cutlery, dishes, large fridge, stove, towels, dishwasher and clothes machine.

In the backyard has the barbecue with all the tools, a table with chairs and an umbrella and a small garden.

Abseits vom touristischen Mainstream

Dass wir in den kleinen Ort Cavaleiro kommen würden, war uns von der Ausschreibung nicht klar, hat sich aber nicht unbedingt als Nachteil erwiesen, da wir vom Massentourismus verschont blieben. Das Haus war vollkommen in Ordnung, ist aber von zwei Straßen eingefasst, so dass man schon recht viel Verkehr gehört hat. Am meisten gestört hat uns, dass die Müllcontainer, die direkt vor beiden Schlafzimmern an der Straße stehen, jeden zweiten Morgen um 5 Uhr geleert wurden, eine massive akustische Störung trotz geschlossener Fenster. Enttäuschend war auch die Praia do Cavaleiro, die mit ihren vielen Steinen eher nicht zum Baden einlädt. Der nächstgelegene schöne Sandstrand, den uns die Ortsbewohner empfohlen haben, ist erst 10 km entfernt in Almograve. Wer also morgens gerne ein Bad im Meer nehmen möchte, sollte sich woanders einmieten. Das Haus ist gut ausgestattet. Es gibt sogar Wasch- und Spülmaschine, ein riesiger Vorteil. Sehr gestört hat uns ein Modergeruch der Rohre in der Küche, den wir immer dann besonders stark wahrnehmen, wenn wir abends in das Haus zurückkehrten und die Fenster tagsüber geschlossen waren. Im Innenhof kann man grillen und essen, das haben wir genossen. Was leider gefehlt hat, war ein Haarfön. Da es abends auch im Juli sehr windig und kühl werden kann, ist das eigentlich ein absolutes Muss bei der Ausstattung. Ein Nachteil ist, dass die superfreundlichen Vermieter Ana und ihr Mann so weit weg wohnen und uns in den 12 Tagen keinen Fön vorbeibringen konnten. Das Dorfleben muss erst entdeckt werden, weil es auf den ersten Blick kaum zu existieren scheint. Der tägliche Gang in die Bar/das Café oder die Möglichkeit, fast täglich vom mobilen Fischverkäufer frischen Fisch einkaufen zu können, wurde für uns ein wichtiges Ritual. Das Cabo Sardao ist mit seiner Steilküste sehr eindrucksvoll. Wer aber primär am Baden interessiert ist, sollte sich ein anderes Quartier suchen. Trotz gewisser Defizite war es für uns aber schön, in Cavaleiro gewesen zu sein.

Sehr schönes und stilvoll eingerichtetes haus. Sehr hilfsbereite und freundliche Vermieter. Ana und ihr Mann haben sich wirklich größte Mühe gegeben das wir uns hier wie zuhause fühlen. Wirklich top. Ein kleiner abgeschiedener Strand ist zu Fuß in 10 Minuten zu erreichen.

Very nice spacious house in quiet village

We had a lovely holiday in the Alentejo, using this very pleasant and cool house with small patio as a basis. The house is well equipped, there's free parking in front of the house and it lies in a very quiet village (Cavaleiro). Ana, the owner/manager is very kind and helpful, and provided us with useful information of the area. Cavaleiro has a beautiful secluded and quiet beach, 2 mini-markets and 2 restaurants (we liked the Indian restaurant a lot) and is well situated for visiting nearby beaches and villages.
