Sterling Shores is a gated, 11 story complex in the heart of Destin. Boasting a 4300 sq.ft. private lagoon pool, gulf front pool, commercial grill area, BBQ grills, picnic area, and exercise room, located on 9 acres of lush tropical landscaping with 240 ft of beach. Be sure to take advantage of the new bike rack available for owner and guest use in the East Garage next to the ice machines. Beach service is available for guest for $45/day or $225/week plus tax and booking fee. You have to check out Sterling Shores vacation rentals for yourself!

The beach pool is heated from Nov-May, depending on temperatures. The lagoon pool is not heated.

Lovely beach vacation

We really enjoyed our stay. The condo was very spacious and decorated nicely. Loved how close to the beach we were and shopping. Had a little trouble trying to figure out the tv remotes. Maybe some instructions would help. We would definitely stay again.

The condo was very accommodating for our group. The place was pretty clean and it felt comfortable. They had a lot of beach toys stocked and an extra cooler. We brought our own, but it is a nice bonus. It is right across from an elevator, which is very convenient for bringing up luggage and groceries easily. Sterling Shores was pretty quiet when we went. Even though it's not on the beach, there is a nice view. The location is convenient.

Very Nice. Has all the amenities!

We enjoyed this condo very much! Has all the ameninities that are needed and was very clean. It even had beach chairs that could have been used. I do recommend replacing the skillet as it is very used and it's starting to flake when cooked in. That did not affect our stay though and just something that I saw because I used it. We will stay here again! Great place for a family vacation!

Great Location

We stay at this condo complex every year. This particular condo hasn't been updated in a while but is reasonably clean and communication from the managing company was great, which made the process easy. Be advised that, unlike most of other rentals we have stayed at, this one has zero supplies in the pantry, i.e. you will be buying your own salt and other basic necessities.

Excellent experience

From the get go this rental was top notch. RealJoy was easy to work with and was on top of every detail. The bedrooms were spacious and kitchen had plenty of room to work in. We did use the bbq area and that was perfect for us. The pools were heated which was a plus for the few days it was colder than normal. I loved how the whole property was gated definitely made me feel safe for being in a different town. All in all great location right in the middle of everything and right at the beach. We will definitely stay again.

1st birthday trip

Overall the trip was very nice. Housekeeping did a terrible job. There was hair everywhere including the showers and bed. My child now has hand, foot , and mouth disease which I believe he caught while staying in this condo. (My child isn’t in daycare or around other kids and he had symptoms 3 days after leaving the condo).

Super convenient

This is the perfect place to stay for several reasons. 1.) It's near anything you need, which makes it super convenient whether you want to go to the beach or to dine. There are also activities nearby for children or the whole family. 2.) It has a lot of space. It's much more comfortable than a typical hotel room atmosphere due to the spacious rooms, and this also means that there is more privacy within the unit. 3.) It's clean and luxurious. You feel comfortable here. 4.) It has a beautiful view. You can enjoy the beach right from your condo.

The condo and properties were great. But in the condo there was no dust pan, no cleaning supplies, we had to go to walmart and buy so much that should have been in the condo, to help keep it clean. Not the best for a family with small kids.

Overall we had a good stay. The location was perfect for us; beach view, 10-15 minute drive to good restaurants and shops and only a few minute walk to the beach. The cleanliness of the property was not great but it was manageable. The oven takes an hour just to preheat which was a little frustrating. Also we were not provided with wristbands so we messaged RealJoy. They replied within a few hours and brought us some but only brought 4 which was a little strange. Overall we had a good vacation and would consider staying here again.

Room, Pool and View were good but Beach setup could be better

We come to Destin every few years and we try to stay at different locations. The location of Sterling Shores is one of the best. The room could have been cleaner. Carpet needs to be cleaned and/or replaced but overall the room was nice. View of the ocean and pool were amazing. Pool area is one of the best in Destin. The only drawback to the whole stay is the beach setup which has nothing to do with the owner or room. If you don't pay for beach chairs/umbrella each day ($30/day) you have to setup behind three rows of chairs/umbrellas and squeeze your way through them to get to the beach due to beach being private and roped off. Not the safest setup or most pleasant beach experience. Overall it was a good trip.

Spring Break

The condo was very clean & updated. The master bedroom mattress was VERY comfortable. The pool was great and the front desk services was great as well. We came with our seniors for their spring break. We really thought it was going to be crazy. This property kept things under control and it was very relaxing & peaceful. The only issue we had was the traffic getting in & out. The light getting out did not work so it would take over 20 mins just to get out on the main hwy. This was out of their control but still irritating. The construction in that area was terrible & dangerous. Other than the traffic we had a wonderful stay & will be back.

NO HOT WATER

We had NO Hot water the entire trip had to contact maintenance he came up and turned it up still kept going out after 1or 2 showers and it’s suppose to accommodate 8 people and you should be able to run the washer and dishwasher as well!! They said they will not do anything to make this right and I was on phone with the office everyday and nothing!!! I was told they can’t replace the hot water heater while we were there

Sterling Shores

Liked the location and condos. Although I was disappointed in a couple of things. To spend over $4,000 for 4 nights. I expected better. The biggest downfall was.. only 1 elevator was working in the entire building. There was always a long line of people waiting for the elevator. Which would take 15-20 min. We started taking the stairs up to the 8th floor to avoid the long elevator waits. Also, no where in the description of the condominium bookings were we told no personal canopies on the beach. We bought a brand new canopy to take to the beach which we weren’t allowed to use. We came to the beach for a family reunion with 34 people. The shore area for sterling shores was all filled with private rental umbrellas. You are only allowed to rent umbrella and chairs, Or bring your own small size umbrella and put behind the last row of private rentals. So, if you don’t want to spend $54 for a rental umbrella and 2 chairs, you need to buy a umbrella and set it up at the last row of all rentals where you can barely see the water or your children. Disappointing and will not rent at Sterling Shores again.

Management Company 👎

We were in this rental from Saturday through Friday. The dryer did not work from day one. Long story short, I alerted the management company about the dryer on Sunday. A maintenance worker came out on Monday. We were told that the motor was broken and it needed new parts and if the repairs were not authorized by the owner that a loaaner dryer would be delivered on Tuesday. This never happened. We went without a dryer for the entire week. We drove 9 hours with 5 people so we packed lightly because I purposely rented a condo with laundry facilities. We ran out of clean laundry, our beach towels were dirty since day 1. We were finally offered clean towels and wash clothes for the condo, but these coukd not be used on the beach or pool area. I have messages were I am told that maintenance was at our condo at that very moment repairing, but we were there and no worker was in the condo with us. I was told by message that a loaner had been delivered and that was the best that they could do. The problem was that a loaner HAD NOT been dropped off. The original dryer was still in pieces in the laundry room. We had to bag up towels and bathing suits from our last day that had not dried and by the time we traveled home they smelled terrible. Poor communication and follow through. The pots and pans were hardly usable due to the teflon flaking off on practically every pan. For the price of the rental I would think that the pans would have been usable.
