About this property
Il Rifugio, a farmhouse in Cortona with a panoramic view of Lake Trasimeno
Il Rifugio Il Rifugio is one of two farmhouses located within the Ginezzo agricultural-forest complex. A protected reserve of about 300 hectares of oak woods, chestnut groves and moorland habitat, in the mountains above Cortona (AR), between the Valdichiana, Lake Trasimeno and the Valtiberina with the typical landscapes of Piero della Francesca: it is the center of gravity between Rome, Perugia, Siena and Florence.
Both houses are in stone, with a swimming pool, surrounded by greenery, but 15 km from Cortona.
On the estate it is forbidden to hunt and collect flowers (there are the last examples of some almost extinct flowers) and it is crossed by the Path 50 that leads from Passignano sul Trasimeno to Chiusi della Verna (Hermitage of San Francesco).
In addition, trails to do on foot or MB, with remains of a Roman paved road and breathtaking views, paths to rediscovering places and Etruscan monuments curated by the MAEC, or those leading to abandoned villages such as Tornia or unmissable eno-gastronomic itineraries.
The farmhouses, in line with our philosophy, are almost zero impact and we will soon use only renewable energy.
