About this property

19th century Bastide amongst Olives Trees and Vineyard in the heart of Provence

3020 sqft house on 7ha land

Nestled at the foothills of the Alps of Provence, at walking distance of the medieval village of Aups, la Bastide "Le Petit Loup" has been lovingly restored to capture the authenticity of the original Provençal Campagne architecture. Tasteful, period décor and brand new amenities blend harmoniously in the ideal holiday setting where you can relax and enjoy yourself in the comfort of your own stand alone home, both pleasantly isolated from the village noise, and at a walking distance from all the necessary amenities.
Le Petit Loup is the ideal setting for a family reunion or a get together with friends.

A caretaker is close by to insure your stay is flawless. Whatever your number, you will be spoiled with choice: 9 luminous bedrooms, including 4 with en-suite bathrooms and 4 with share bathroom for 2 bedrooms, as well as a cosy bedroom for children or teenagers with 3 beds.
The house also has a large, well equipped kitchen extending onto a lovely outdoor open veranda and terrace for 'al fresco' dining

The comfortable living room is perfect for convivial gatherings, great for watching TV and playing games, or having a charming 'aperitif' around the working fireplace.

Grounds: The house is set on a terraced hillside on a large unspoiled land (7 ha wide), with hundreds of Olive Trees, which make our delicious Olive Oil, as well as centenarian plane trees and truffle oak trees.
The view is quite unique, with in its distance, the soothing sight of the Sainte Victoire Mountain of Aix en Provence and the Sainte Baume Mountain of Marseille, amongst the pine trees that extend throughout the valley below. Only nature in front of your eyes !

Plenty of shade when you want some rest from the Provencal sun!
The large veranda doors from the kitchen open onto a sunny dining terrace with table and chairs, perfect for meals and BBQ's.
A nice old stone basin transformed into a swimming pool area is located right next to the house with a nice sunny terrace. Sheltered from the wind, it is a perfect location for a nap or a relaxing aperitif in the sunset.

Surroundings: You could easily remain for days in a row on the property, enjoying nice walks on the grounds, as far as the little woods at the end of the property. But you won't regret setting out to explore the richness of this stunning region, famed for breathtaking landscapes and grandiose settings, steeped in the sights and smells of nature.

The sandy Mediterranean beaches are an easy day-trip (50min drive to Sainte Maxime), and you are a stone's throw from the celebrated lavender fields with their views of the pre-Alps in the distance. Another not-to-be-missed site for a day of spectacular scenery is the famous Grand Canyon du Verdon, reputed to be the deepest gorge in Europe.

Nearby, take a rest at the Lac de Sainte Croix, one of the largest freshwater lakes in France. It is a peaceful haven in the summer months with its quiet beaches, shady picnic area and free parking. Canoes and kayaks can be hired on site, electric boats are permitted. Enjoy a range of water and sport activities here, from sailing to climbing.

Excellent!

Beautiful property and perfect for our celebration for our father’s 70th and brothers 40. Really special! Crucial to have the pool as it was boiling hot. We enjoyed nice meals outside and touring around the area

Great place and hosts to be

We had a fantastic time at Petit Loup as four families with 8 adults and 12 children for 10 nights. Dominique and Jacque are incredibly friendly hosts with great insights and recommendations for the area. Their self produced Champagne and olive oil is delicious 😋 We felt wholeheartedly welcomed and enjoyed the conversations a lot. 🙏

Fantastic property in beautiful location

We thoroughly enjoyed our week in Aups. The house was clean, comfortable, spacious and well equipped. We were a group of 20, five families with teenagers, and there was plenty of space for all of us, both indoors and out. The pool was a good size and the centre of Aups was just a short walk away. Aups is a lovely little town and there are plenty of other places to visit and activities in the area. We all agreed that this was one of the best holidays we have had.

Provencal delight

Wonderful week returning to this beloved part of France with our extended family (x14). This big family house has a grand feel (cool interiors from the thick walls & shuttered windows) with a big kitchen and comfortable lounges inside plus a labyrinth of well appointed bedrooms on the second and third floors. (most with en-suite showers/bathrooms). What makes the house work so well though are the generously furnished outdoor spaces that include dining tables and chairs (under the much needed shade of the mature trees), loungers and deckchairs spread around the terraces and in the lovely enclosed pool area. Although not obvious from the photographs, the house and terrace commands the most spectacular view across the countryside to the south of Aups. Despite it's size, it quickly felt like home and the whole family were sad to say au revoir at the end of our week. Thanks to our hosts - a truly memorable holiday.

Absolutely fabulous! Highly recommended!

Our stay at Le Petit Loup was perfect! We were a group of 12, and the house was perfect for that size group - even could have fit 3 more if we wanted. Dominique and Karine were extremely accommodating and were very communicative. The property is beautiful and the location is perfect - just a few minutes' walk to Aups, and you're also within an hour of most of the highlights of the Provence region. The house was well-stocked and we weren't wanting for anything. One day we'll return! Thanks Dominique and Karine for a great week!
