About this property

Unwind in a Bright Airy Victorian Apartment in WE!

SUMMARY

The West End offers the perfect combination of old world charm and quirkiness, think Aladdin’s cave style vintage stores and second hand bookshops, trendy vegan café’s and cobbled streets strewn with fairy lights. The majestic Kelvingrove red sandstone building boasts a combination of art gallery and history museum, overlooking the scenic park.

You’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to food, with no end of funky cafes and artisan restaurants - there's something for everyone.

THE SPACE

The living room is bright and spacious with high ceilings, plenty of cool things to keep you occupied on the grand bookshelves. There are large sash windows which help to let in plenty of natural light.

The apartment is centrally heated. It warms up quickly and is easy to adjust the temperature to suit you.

There's a 50 Smart TV, meaning you can access over 7,000 apps and games, including Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, BBC iPlayer, ITV, Spotify and more. Plus, access millions of websites such as YouTube, Facebook and browsers like Firefox! There is also a comfortable double sofa bed which folds out.

In the hallway there's a cool mirror above the radiator so you can check your style just before you head out.

There is a storage cupboard where you will find amenities such as an iron, ironing board, hoover, pillows, and duvets.

The bathroom is very modern with a massive, powerful shower and constant hot water. There are soft towels, hand-wash, shampoo, conditioner, body wash and aftershave/perfume.

The kitchen has everything you need: dishwasher, combined oven/grill/microwave, toaster, kettle, cafetiere, cooking hobs and a fridge-freezer. There's enough crockery, glasses and utensils. Once done, simply pop them in the dishwasher. :) No need to keep washing up.

I LOVE food and I would want your cooking experience to be pleasant and fun. Therefore, I have made sure the basics (herbs, spices, oils etc) are available for you. I've also left a few cooking books on the book shelf for you to impress your friend, family members, partner or even yourself!

Bedroom one is spacious and airy. It has a sturdy king size solid oak bed with a comfortable mattress. There are two wall lights on either side in case you want to read/surf the web and let your partner sleep. There are bedside tables on either side of the bed and some plug sockets nearby so you charge your phone, tablet, or laptop overnight.

Bedroom two is well lit with a lot of natural light and in the evenings you can use the dimmable lights to control the ambience.

This bedroom also has a solid oak double bed with a very comfortable mattress. There are bedside tables on either for you to rest your items on. There is a bookshelf in the corner and a clothes rail to hang up your clothes.

Great location for a good vibe

Anwar was very efficient and helpful and I enjoyed staying in his apartment. Ideal location for absolutely everything you could want to do in this beautiful city.....one with an aura of faded grandeur!

Very central location.

Great location, great flat and Anwar was a communicative host. The addition of a blue tooth speaker would be great as the records for the cool record player are placed very much out of reach.

Stylish apartment in great location!

The apartment sits on a quiet, one-way street near the University of Glasgow. It lives up to its photos and has nicely appointed rooms, including a very modern kitchen and bathroom. The cleaners were behind schedule because of a city marathon, but Afzal was great in working them around our schedule and resolving the issue.

Great Apartment, Excellent Location, Responsive Landlord - Very Enjoyable All Around

This property has it all: of a very useful size for a couple, it can comfortably accommodate four, it has everything, down to an array of spices! Very comfortable, on a quiet street. Parking is a minor hassle, none available on street, but there is an arrangement in the alley behind the apartment, which though a rather tight fit entering and exiting, is more than satisfactory. Entertainment system is excellent, bathroom and kitchen are recently (it appears to me) upgraded with lovely tile, a full array of new appliances, everything just 'a cut above' the usual. We will, when we return to Glasgow, look for this place, as it is central to so much. Highly recommended!!

Perfect location for exploring

The apartment was in an ideal location for exploring a bit of the city. We walked to the Botanical Gardens, the Kelvingrove Museum area, caught the City Sightseeing bus nearby, and were close to several restaurants and a small grocery store. We had a rental car, but with parking being a challenge, we returned it early and relied on cabs and the bus to get around. The bed was very comfortable, and we really appreciated having a washing machine to catch up on laundry. Thanks for a pleasant stay!

Why they chose this property

The West End is one of Glasgow's most cosmopolitan, vibrant and happening areas full of beautiful parks, artistic and historical museums, thriving café culture and home to arguably Scotland's most dynamic food scene. Vibrant and bohemian. Right in the heart of the bustling, fashionable west end. With more of an eclectic multi-cultural vibe than some of the other areas, Hillhead, home to Glasgow University, is popular with students and academics. But you'll also find plenty of artists, writers, musicians and other generally creative types here too. The local shops around the corner on Great Western Road reflect this. Artisan Roast serves up its own award-wining coffee with local, organic, vegan and gluten free delights. As achingly cool as it's warm and welcoming. We have Roots and Fruits, a wholefood deli, florist and greengrocers. Purveyors of such delicacies as dirty carrots, alfalfa sprouts and heritage root beer. Pop in to Cottonrake Bakery for a warm sourdough loaf or pick up a box of delicate Raspberry Frangipanes for afternoon tea. All baked in-store. The Glasgow Vintage Company is a 2 storey dressing-up box of bargains for anyone - men and women - looking for something quirky and unique. Round the corner in Otago Street more vintage clothing from Retro and browsable mid-century furnishings from Authentics. Cook has delicious chef-made meals to take home and enjoy. The staff are great. As are their Lamb Tagines and Sticky Toffee Puddings. Family run Eusebi Deli is a relatively new addition to the area. But they have been welcomed with open arms ... and mouths. In Gibson Street Stravaigin goes head to head with The Left Bank to see who can be the best gastro-pub in town. For general supplies there's the Co-Op Supermarket. Small but perfectly stocked. And open from early till late. All this ... and more ... is within just 10 minutes of your front door.

What makes this property unique

Anwar's home is located in Glasgow, Lanarkshire, United Kingdom. You will have exclusive use of the apartment as well as the beautiful large back garden during your stay. The apartment is on the ground floor. A short walk over the hill takes you to Byres Rd and the lanes: Cresswell, Ashton and Ruthven, for more shopping and nightlife. There's even a wee cinema with couches for two! Take a wander along the Kelvin Walkway in to Kelvingrove Park towards the world-renowned Kelvingrove Museum. Famous for its magnificent organ. (Yes really!) Or head towards Finnieston for an eclectic selection of shops, bars and restaurants. Favourites include The Gannett for fine Scottish dining. And The Steamie with its over-sized tea cups which take two hands to lift. Its old-school workbench counter is laden with thick doorstop slices of home-made cakes. I can vouch for the Lemon and Poppy seed and the delicious Iced Gingerbread. That's probably enough to give you a sense of what my pure dead brilliant amazing neighbourhood has to offer! The closest underground is Kelvinbridge. Only three stops from Buchanan St in the city centre. The station is approximately a 5 minute walk. Buses go in to town along Gibson St, University Ave and Great Western Rd where it's also fairly easy to pick up a taxi. This is a great place to explore Glasgow from. If you want to go further afield you can even get a bus to Oban from the end of the street. If you have any other questions then please feel free to drop me a message :)
