About this property

Pozzo Antico

Pozzo Antico is located in Capena, a town 29 km from Rome, nestled among green hills and small villages.
The villa is spread over two levels and features five bedrooms, a large outdoor swimming pool, a spacious garden, and private parking.
The property covers 5 hectares, part of which is a natural forest of oak and holm oak trees. The cultivated garden measures 3,000 square meters and is maintained as an English lawn. It includes tall trees, fruit trees, palm trees, and aromatic plants.
In the garden, guests will also find a gazebo with a table and chairs, and near the kitchen, there is a built-in masonry barbecue and a wood-fired oven.
A large portico runs along two sides of the villa, offering a furnished relaxation area with tables, chairs, and sofas.
Pozzo Antico can accommodate up to ten guests, who can enjoy well-deserved relaxation in the large garden, by the pool, or in the shade of the spacious portico overlooking the countryside.
The property is also ideal for those wishing to visit the main cultural cities of central Italy, especially Rome, which is easily reachable by public transport.

Interiors:
The villa is laid out on two levels and features five bedrooms.
The main entrance is located under the portico and leads directly to the first floor, divided into four areas: a large relaxation area with sofas and a fireplace, a TV area, and a dining room.
From the dining room, you can access the kitchen and a bright veranda built around an ancient well, with a table often used for breakfast.
On the living area side, there are two double bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom with shower.
A corridor adjacent to the bedrooms leads to a twin room with a bathroom (shower) and access to the garden.
A terracotta staircase in front of the relaxation area sofas leads to the upper floor, which features two double bedrooms (one with a 140 cm-wide bed), a bathroom with a bathtub, a work area, and a panoramic terrace furnished with sun loungers and tables.
All rooms and the living area are equipped with air conditioning and mosquito nets.

Grounds:

Amazing villa and even more amazing outdoor gardens and a wonderful pool. Not too many places to visit locally but easy to get the train to Rome. Our host, Consuelo, was at the villa to greet us, show us round and explain how everything worked. Nothing was too much trouble for her and even offered to book restaurants etc. A truly lovely and charming host.

Absolutely, the most beautiful home we've ever had the pleasure of staying in!!Our arrival was earlier than planned and we we're still welcomed by the beautiful Consuelo., the owner of this gorgeous property. Our luggage was taken and we were invited to peruse the gardens and olive groves and relax by the pool until the villa was ready. There are so many little nooks to hide away in ... read a book from their extensive collection or take in any one of the eclectic art works. The home is filled, and I mean filled, with interesting little pieces from around the globe, that the owners have collected and placed to enjoy. Our days were spent by the beautiful pool and the property itself is like a nature preserve. We spent one morning just walking around identifying the flora. Naturally, the olive groves, the Rosemary 'walls', Camphor trees Pepper trees, Pomegranate trees, miniature Mandarins Lemon trees ... just to name a few. And we used many of these items in our meals.Speaking of meals, we had a beautiful dinner prepared and served by Consuelo and her family! It was heavenly! We also had an pizza night, prepared by Luigi and using the wood-fired pizza oven out in the yard. Consuelo arranged all of our transfers & tours ... from the airport and into Rome with a tour of the Vatican and ending with dinner reservations at a fabulous restaurant closeby! Bellissimo!!! We cant say enough about La Casa del Pozzo Antico, Consuelo, Luigi and their whole team! Molto Grazie a tutti

Absolutely perfect!

I would start off by saying that both Samantha and Consuela are absolutely lovely hostesses. They went above and beyond to ensure that we had not only a smooth check in process. They made sure everything was warm and welcoming. The villa is absolutely beautiful, clean and well equipped The home is beautifully decorated, and the gardens are stunning. The pool was the absolute highlight for our children ages 10, 11 and 12 The rooms were beautifully furnished, and the home is fresh and clean. There are lots of beautiful areas outdoor for dining and relaxing. While staying in the home, we explored some local areas and followed some recommendations of our hostesses for local restaurants and bakery and an information package that was provided to us at check-in. They were wonderful recommendations (If I am able to edit my post later, I will add the name of the bakery and the restaurant). We also took a tour of the Vatican while staying and the drive to Rome took about 45 minutes This was the end of a 14 day trip and we spent our last four days here unwinding before our final trip home to Atlanta, Georgia. The relaxation Was exactly what we needed to end our whirlwind tour of Northern Italy and Sardinia Our hostesses were so lovely and helpful and we look forward to another trip and we will definitely be booking with them again!
