Casa BelaVista. Totally private luxury 3 bed home with fabulous views

As the name suggests the house sits at the head of shallow valley with stunning views towards the coast nestled on the edge of a sleepy and tiny Portuguese village. The private detached 3 bedroom home sits within beautiful lawned gardens adorned with flower beds and shrubs with the 10 meter by 5 meter pool offering total privacy. The interior design is open plan and split level offering interior decor to a high standard. A short drive away from the home you will find many other attractions.
Coimbra, a 20 minute drive away, is an ancient city with a famous university and is a great place to tour around and experience Portuguese life with cafés and restaurantes on every corner. Tomar, another historical city is a 30 minute drive south boasting the famous Convento de Cristo
A 40 minute drive takes you to the coastline with endless sandy beaches and the nearby Roman ruins of Conimbriga are well worth a visit. A walk around the ramparts in nearby Penela castle has great views towards the Serra de Lousã and the Parque Biological Zoo in Miranda do Corvo will keep the children entertained for several hours. Wild river beaches, a short journey away offer an exciting alternative to the normal beach.
On foot you can take off on numerous local paths to explore the nearby countryside. Cakes and morning coffee await in either of the local cafés, a 10 or 15 minute walk away. Condeixa, Miranda and Penela have fish and vegetable markets as well as the larger supermarkets.

Place to relax

Very nice place with great view, perfect for relaxing if you do not mind barking dogs in the distance. Although more or less secluded, it is not far from Coimbra and other places you can visit. Obviously you need a car here.

Very nice secluded house. Everything we could want in the kitchen. Loved having screens on the windows so we could keep them open most of the time. Pol was a little cold for us but the weather had cooled so that is expected. We would definitely stay here again!

This is a really lovely property: large, modern, beautiful, comfortable. It is in a small village, and is 1-2 hours away from many wonderful Portugal experiences, including, the sea shore, Douro Valley, Porto, Schist Villages, Tomar (must see the Templar castle there), Fatima, and more. As Americans, we were happy to drive and have a great home base to return to each day. Steve is a wonderful host. Definitely choose this property if you can.

Wonderful and Relaxing Stay

Casa Belavista is a wonderful property. It has everything. Inside it’s spacious, very well presented and well equipped. Outside it has a lovely large pool, and a large and beautifully maintained garden with a beautiful vista. It’s so quiet and peaceful and a great place to escape and unwind, but accessible to many places such as Coimbra, Lousã and the stunning hill villages of that region. The host couldn’t have been more helpful. We’re so glad we chose and stayed at the property.

We have enjoyed a wonderful time in this house. We loved the house with a perfect kitchen and bedroom with an amazing view. Stephen is a perfect host. it's a shame the time went by so quickly. Wonderful relaxed break

Just returned from a lovely stay at Casa BelaVista. Beautiful home set up with everything that we needed, comfortable and clean. Stunning views - felt like we were really away from it all. Loved the village and location - off the beaten path but with access to the local town, Condexia, for food and amenities. The pool was fab for a swim and great in the evening watching the swallows swoop in for a dip. A pair of woodpeckers came by each morning, the buzzards circled overhead and the small birds in the surrounding trees kept us company throughout the day. I will particularly miss the bells chiming from the nearby church. We hope to be back one day.

Le propriétaire Steve est un homme très sympathique et nous met tout de suite en confiance ! La maison est incroyable, l'endroit est propre et ne manque de rien. La piscine et le jardin sont au top pour des vacances, au calme dans un petit village et sans bruit extérieur. Une vue magnifique sur des kilomètres, parfait pour faire un barbecue et manger sur la terrasse. Merci beaucoup Steve pour ces vacances, toute la famille a hâte de revenir !

Unser Aufenthalt in "Bel Vista" war einfach nur genial! Der Besitzer, Steve, ist ein wundervoller Gastgeber, der einen mit tollen Tipps versorgt und der uns ein grandioses Ferienhaus überlassen hat, welches keine Wünsche offen lässt. Das Haus ist außen wie innen top gepflegt. Der 50 qm große Pool ist traumhaft! Alles absolut sauber und in Schuss. Man fühlt sich sofort wohl! Das Haus liegt am Hang und man hat eine wunderschöne Aussicht, auch direkt vom Bett aus! Es ist absolut ruhig, null Verkehr...eine unglaublich schöne Atmosphäre! Ich würde dieses Haus sowie den Host zu 100 Prozent empfehlen. Dies war unser schönstes Feriendomizil, das wir je gebucht haben. Herzlichen Dank, Steve!

Cette semaine nous a fait beaucoup de bien ! Cette maison est parfaitement adaptée pour 3 couples avec ses 3 chambres et ses 2 salles de bain. Les espaces extérieurs sont parfait et si bien entretenus. La vue de la terrasse est à couper le souffle, on ne s'en lasse pas ! Le village est très calme et nature permettant aux personnes de la ville comme nous de respirer loin de l'agitation du monde.

Quiet location - Beautiful views - Well equipped

We stayed for 4 nights in this comfortable villa. The communication with owner Steve was excellent. He helped us out with finding bicycles last minute while the third party where we had made the reservation failed to deliver...Everything in the villa is as described in the advertisement. Reality beats the pictures (often it is the opposite...). Swimming pool is excellent. Kitchen is well equipped. A car is needed. The village Bendafé lies on a relatively steep slope so walking/cycling requires a reasonable fitness level. Villa also is at two "half" levels.

This home is the perfect location if you want to explore Coimbra and the surrounding area. Beautiful views, great fireplace and grill area. The garden is amazing and even comes with a lemon tree. The owner, Steve was very attentive to any requests we had. Highly recommend!

Beaucoup de sérénité

Cette maison nous apporte toute la sérénité que nous cherchons lors de vacances. Idéale pour un couple, pour des adolescents, pour des enfants. La disposition des pièces permettent à chacun d'avoir pleins de moments sereins. La vue est imprenable, la piscine est très bien entretenue et très grande permettant à chacun l'activité qu'il souhaite. De la maison, les ballades à pied dans les petits chemins de campagne sont exceptionnelles. La ville de Coimbra est très proche. Une de mes plus belles vacances. Merci Steve !

Great house & Amazing landscape

We were six (4 adults and 2 children) and had an amazing time. The house is perfect, very cozy, warm decorated and with a great location. In few minutes we were able to be in a restaurant, supermarket, grossery shop... explore Lousã mountains, Aldeias do Xisto and other awesome places around; and still, be in a very quiet and secluded place. The swimming pool, the barbacue and the dining table in the patio with a superb view of the mountains landscape also played a key role in making an incredible week.

Experiência a repetir de novo e para breve.

Foi uma estadia fantástica. A casa é fantástica, bem localizada com umas vistas maravilhosas. Para quem deseja descansar e relaxar sem ser incomodado por nada nem ninguém. O proprietário é uma pessoa fantástica e sempre disponível para ajudar no que for necessário. Para tomar um café, temos de andar 5km, o que nos ajuda a fazer algum exercício, apesar de se poder tomar café em casa. Para esta altura de Covid é o local ideal para umas ferias sossegadas. Obrigado Steve por toda a simpatia e disponibilidade.

Hi. We came to live and work permanently in Portugal in 1991 and have grown to love this quiet and unassuming country. In 2005, we designed and built Casa BelaVista as a permanent residence and only recently decided to offer the home for tourism holidays. We also rent out an apartment on a golf and beach resort.

Why they chose this property

The split level nature of the house sits naturally within the contoured gardens. The position offers total privacy and tranquility with elevated views over the local countryside. Yet the house is not isolated, sitting on the edge of the small hamlet with the city of Coimbra a 15 minute drive away and other local attractions and sites nearby.

What makes this property unique

A little oasis. Privacy is guaranteed with the absence of neighbours but can be broken by swallows diving for water in the pool or overhead birds of prey screaching in search of their young or rabbits dining on the lawn.
