About this property

"Baha Mara" - New Tarpum Bay Beachfront

Not just a vacation rental, but a beautifully designed home. You’ll love my place because it is 50 feet from the sea with great snorkelling and shelling. My place is good for couples, friends travelling in a group and families (with kids). We custom built this home in 2015. It's a great spot to stay put or as a base to explore the island. Most guests say they are happy just staying right in the house or on our beach.

We have amazing biodiversity right in front of the house and it is common to see spotted eagle rays, dolphin, turtles, juvenille sharks, nurse sharks, mutton snapper, grouper, dolphins, stone crab and more.

Close to Rock Sound airport (15 mins) and Governors Harbour (30 mins). 5 minutes from the quaint town of Tarpum Bay. There is a great local bar/restaurant a few minutes away as well as grocery stores and conch salad stands.

House operates on rainwater collection (1000 gallon cistern). It is usually not an issue if you are mindful, but for extra can be brought in for $125
No bonfires on the beach in front of the house. A negligent guest left a fire burning on a breezy night and its embers set fire to the porch.
Beach dogs: don't feed them unless you plan to take one home. Otherwise, they take up residence.

I am a Londoner who grew up in LA and has lived in The Bahamas for the last 12 years of my life. I moved to Eleuthera in 2007 to work at Deep Creek Middle School and The Island School. Several years later, I met my partner in Tarpum Bay and we now split our time as a family between Nassau and Eleuthera.

Why they chose this property

You will be more comfortable at Baha Mara than your average vacation home. We have built a home for our own comfort, not just to rent. We built this home ourselves a couple of years ago.

Nothing beats the view of the turquoise sea from every window of the house.
