About this property

Curlew Lodge - a fabulous and very comfortable beachside log chalet with stunning views and woodbur

The chalet has wonderful views across open farmland to Criffel Mountain. You can walk out of the garden right onto the beach. This chalet suits disabled people as it has a walk in shower and a grab rail next to the toilet. There is free wi-fi.
"The Steamboat" pub in Carsethorn is a 5 minute walk along the beach. It does really good food and is dog friendly. You can also sit out on the water's edge.

The Arbigland Estate is the ideal base for mountain biking (minutes from two of the 7 Stanes) Birdwatching (Mersehead 15 mins away) Golf (Southerness Championship Golf Course 10mins away) or collapsing and revelling in the amazing surroundings. The chalets are also close to the equestrian establishment of South Carse. You can bring your horse with you and keep him in the livery yard there so that you can enjoy riding on the beach and around the bridleways on the estate.

If it's rows of identical cabins, discotheques and amusement arcades you want then look elsewhere! If you want to wake up to the sound of waves and seabirds and watch kestrels hover above cattle grazing in green meadows from your windows then this is the place for you.

Great location and spacious accommodation

Well designed property, that gave a good amount of space. It was warm and relatively well equipped. The beds were comfortable. Shower very powerful and hot. The internet has been improved recently, but is still slow, so do not expect to 'stream' anything (didn't bother us, but I know some people would expect this). I had thought from the description that we would be able to see the shore and sea from the property because of to close proximity - so this was a bit of a disappointment. Views of Criffel were stunning. lots of fantastic places to visit within easy distances.
