About this property

Hemingways cozy rustic cabin 5 min. from Cody

Hemingway's cabin is just 5–10 minutes from downtown Cody and 53 miles from the East Entrance of Yellowstone. You’ll love the cozy atmosphere, beautiful views, and convenient location. Apple Jack Ranch is ideal for couples and solo travelers. The space
Spend the night in this cute duplex cabin, close to Cody yet located out in the country with magnificent mountain views. The cabin is western with beautiful log furnitures and a queen bed. We're are roughly 50 miles from Yellowstone. The cabin has it's own big bathroom. A charcoal grill is available for guests to use; please bring your own charcoal. You’ll also have access to the deck, which is shared with guests staying on the other side of the cabin. Our friendly, loving dogs are a big part of the Apple Jack Ranch family and enjoy entertaining guests—so if you’re a dog person, this is definitely the place for you.
Horses graze around the property and are usually happy to be petted. They are very friendly, but please pet them at your own risk.

Other things to note
Please read the information below to make sure Apple Jack Ranch is the right fit for you. It is completely okay if it isn’t—we simply want our guests to be happy.
When staying at Apple Jack Ranch, please remember that we are in the country. We have dogs and horses, and our neighbors have cattle, so there may be flies and bugs at times. If it rains, there will be mud. Wyoming weather can change quickly—it might be 90 degrees one day and snowing the next—so Please plan accordingly. Be sure to review our listed amenities so you know exactly what is and isn’t provided. Our cabins are cozy, rustic, and full of character. They are not the Hilton, and not everything here is straight or perfect. The cabins are older, and while we have preserved as much of their original charm as possible, we have modernized them where needed. If any of this does not sound like the right fit, that is completely okay. But if Apple Jack Ranch sounds perfect to you—as it has to thousands of previous guests—we would love to host you. Come enjoy the beauty of our place, and please keep the rustic country setting in mind during your stay. Constructive feedback and helpful suggestions are always welcome. Thank you so much for staying with us.

Hemingway's

Enjoyed our two night stay. Cabin was very clean and comfortable. We would stay again. Sat on the porch in the evening with Rooster watching 2 mule deer grazing on the hillside in front of the cabin.

Lovely stay at Apple Jack Ranch

The cabin is great has coffee and a fridge. The cabin was clean and comfortable, the walls are a little thin but if you close the bathroom door generally don’t hear next door. One of my favorite things about this place were the dogs that love coming to see / play with you. One especially loves playing with you and will sleep outside the cabin at night and first thing in the mornings I’d go outside to take the view in and the dog would run up and play with you. Unfortunately we didn’t get chance to meet the hosts and have coffee with them which I wanted but we headed to Yellowstone each day very early. Overall a great stay and something different to staying in a local motel / hotel down the road, I would definitely come back to Apple Jack again next time I visit Cody.

Perfect place to stay to visit NW Wyoming

Hemingway Cabin is so cozy and the perfect place to stay to visit Cody, Yellowstone and the area. It is a very simple cabin, no frills, but perfect for us. No kitchen (has a small fridge and coffee pot), no tv, both of which I wanted to get away from for the week. The bed was comfy and the cabin was very clean. We loved the ranch dogs coming to visit us. They are so sweet. It is a few miles out of town, so was very quiet for great sleeping. We loved our stay.

Hidden Gem!

Loved, loved our stay. The property is better than described. It had everything we needed and was so cozy. Just far enough out of Cody to enjoy the quiet and beauty of mountains. The cottage was so clean and details were well thought out. I can’t wait to go back.

Apple Jack Ranch is wonderful

Apple Jack ranch is the perfect place to relax and experience a bit more of WY just a few minutes outside of downtown Cody. The cabins are the perfect size for a single person or a couple and are furnished with everything you need for your stay. The ranch dogs greet you upon arrival and whenever you return to tour cabin. A very relaxing place.

Vacation in Cody Wy

Perfect location for all the things we had planned: Yellowstone, we drove in to Montana on alt hwy 14, awesome views, and surrounding areas. Granny’s for breakfast before we headed out. We would recommend Cody Cattle Co for a night out; food was delicious and entertainment was awesome. Really enjoyed getting to me Jo, Bounty and family

Cozy cabin with friendly dog and horses who welcome you

This was the best cozy cabin with hosts Jo and Bounty. Rooster the dog took his job as official greeter seriously. Enjoyed his company. I would highly suggest going up to the main house every morning for coffee the best scones and interesting conversations with Jo and Bounty. You feel like family.

We loved our stay in the cabin! After a few days if camping, we couldn't have picked a better spot to land. The shower and bed we're glorious! And we loved Jo's recommendation of eating dinner at Cassie's-- turned out to be a highlight of our trip to Wyoming!

Comfortable, cozy, wonderful little cabin!

We enjoyed our visit at the Apple Jack Ranch so very much! The cabin was very comfortable and just enough rustic! I loved staying away from the chain hotels and meeting our hosts and their managerie at the ranch! If you want something a little different and to experience the beauty of the area then book a cabin for your stay. We will definitely stay again!

About the host

Host profile image
Originally born in Copenhagen, Denmark, my life took a beautiful and unexpected turn in 2005 when I crossed the ocean to work as a wrangler on a dude ranch. It was there, among the horses and the open country, that I met my husband, Bounty. We fell in love with the ranch lifestyle and each other, and in 2010, we welcomed our son, Hector.Today, our family is happily rooted in the mountains, dedicating our time to caring for our animals and building our ranch step by step. When I’m not outdoors, you’ll find me in my art room, where I love creating watercolor paintings and breathing new life into old furniture through restoration and painting. While the rugged mountains are home, a piece of my heart still belongs to Scandinavia, and I love nothing more than sitting by the ocean whenever we go back to visit. Through every adventure, one thing remains constant: family and friends are always my number one priority.
