Our stay at Baytree Cottage

A well equipped quaint cottage situated in a pretty quiet village with a pleasant walk to The Wychwood pub and the Lamb Inn. Stow on the Wold and Bourton on the Water were only a few miles away by car and Shipton upon Wychwood was an ideal location. The bed was sooooo comfortable and we would awake to the sound of horses clip clopping from the stables opposite out on their mornings exercise. It was lovely to meet the owner of the cottage and there was a small hamper of goodies and a chocolate orange left on the bed to welcome us. The cottage was clean and there are lovely walks to be had. We returned from our short break fully refreshed and relaxed after our stay in this beautiful cottage in beautiful surroundings. What a way to recharge those batteries.

Rural retreat

Historic terraced cottage in Shipton under Wychwood, a delightful Cotswold village near Burford and Chipping Norton. Well placed for visiting many local attractions. Cottage was accessed via several steps from the road. No off-road parking so parked on narrow lane in front, as I was told by neighbours not to park in front of their properties just round the corner. Cottage was in a satisfactory condition but fell short of the standards I'm used to at HPB properties. The use of one bar of opened soap in the bathroom was inadequate. I am used to emptying trash/recycling into bins but didn't expect to have to manhandle the rubbish bin down the steps to the road for collection by refuse operatives. Overall, my stay was disappointing. The interior of the cottage isn't maintained to a high standard and doesn't represent value for money. It's a shame as the location is superb.

Idyllic stay in the Cotswolds

The cottage is cosy and beautifully done out to make a perfect, idyllic stay. Perfect retreat for a romantic get away. Vanessa, the owner, was very welcoming and had provided a number of treats and provisions for our arrival. Excellent location, close to beautiful towns perfect for exploring. Everywhere seemed to be dog friendly, making our stay extra special.

John B., Rottingdean,

A first visit to the Cotswolds

A delightful little cottage set in an area of outstanding beauty. We could not fault the facilities, Vanessa greeted us and supplied a lovely basket of goodies for both ourselves and our dog. Lots of walks and local eateries to sample and very well placed for trips to local beauty spots and villages. We had not expected the road to be quite so busy but we really enjoyed our week and the weather was perfect. Certainly we would return.

Bay Tree Stay

Bed really uncomfortable, found a woodlouse in the bed too. Electric shower in the property but the water pressure was poor. Location was good though and the property was pretty. The owner left us a basket of goodies which was nice.

The warmest of welcomes from our host with lots of handy local advice.cottage is beautifully furnished and having a cooks cupboard of staples was very handy.the log fire was a bonus and with temperatures going to -5 was really needed for a cosy experience. The cottage is tiny, and for a short break ideal but for us with heaps of stuff storage wa tight, but that's really our issue!!parking around the corner wasn't the greatest but in these tiny villages inevitable.local pubs were fab and we loved the village was perfectly located for our day excursions.tgankyou for a lovely stay

A delightful cottage with some disadvantages for people with mobility problems

Bay Tree Cottage is very attractively furnished, well equipped and delightful in many ways and we had a wonderfully warm welcome from the owner who sent us much very useful information before our arrival. However, I regret that my recommendation is ‘yes, but’ because I could not recommend the cottage to ageing friends or those with mobility problems due to the very narrow and steep winding stairs to the first floor.

Lovely Cottage, Great Location

Bay Tree Cottage is a lovely cottage and Shipton-Under-Wychwood a great village as a base for a break in the Cotswolds. The Cottage is really comfortable for two and well equipped. Parking around the corner no problem at all. Our Host provided loads of information before we travelled and met us just after we arrived which was great, and had also left a welcome hamper with bread, wine and Hot Cross Buns. Thoroughly Recommended !!

Overall it was a really good location for us with the dog. Walking distance to pub where food was good too. Excellent countryside around and not far to visit hotspots like stow and Bourton on the Water. Owner left a really good hamper and very helpful. A massive thank you.
