About this property

Cozy Camp Cottage at Glamping St. Louis

Get away and experience the tranquility of nature in a cozy camp cottage in a secluded campsite. The Camp Cottage offers the perfect mix of luxury and nature , giving guests the time and space to relax, recharge and reconnect. You will feel like you are a million miles away yet we are conveniently located just minutes from almost anywhere in the St. Louis area.

The Camp Cottage is in a secluded and private campsite, next to our pond adjacent to the Mississippi River. It features a comfortable queen bed with crisp, clean sheets, comforter, and pillows. It is equipped with a mini refrigerator and is air conditioned in the summer and heated in the spring and fall. The Camp Cottage is just a short walk to our bathroom cabin; clean and with flush toilets and enclosed outdoor shower.

Your getaway can include fishing, canoeing on the River, exploring the pond, hiking, a friendly game of cornhole, watching the wildlife from your deck, toasting marshmallows around the campfire, or just relaxing in nature.

We are located at the River Island Marina, an eclectic marina and glampground for the modern buccaneer, urban adventurer, or outdoor enthusiast. We offer a unique and convenient place to enjoy Missouri's great outdoors, the River, and everything St. Louis has to offer.

Our Beds - Your glampsite’s bed has a mattress pad, a hypoallergenic mattress protector and hypoallergenic pillow protectors. Before you arrive we wash and disinfect the sheets, quilts, mattress protector, and pillow protectors in hot water with detergent.

Our Bathrooms - We have two bathrooms in our bathroom cabin. Each of our bathrooms are clean and disinfected at least twice daily. Additionally, disinfectant wipes and solution are available in each bathroom for guest’s use. Our hot water shower is outdoors and adjacent to the bathroom cabin. Each is disinfected.

Cooking - Our outdoor kitchen area features both a gas and charcoal grill for our guests to use. We also have a microwave and coffee pot. Coffee and drinking water are available in the outdoor kitchen. We recommend that guests bring their own pots and pans; however, we provide disposable (paper and plastic) plates, cups, and eating utensils.

IMPORTANT: Glamping St. Louis is in Missouri’s great outdoors so be prepared to accept the inherent risk of your adventure including wildlife, insects, and unpredictable conditions (we can’t control weather or the River when it floods). Come with an adventurous and open mind, proper clothing, and some bug spray.

THE RIVER - The River occasionally reaches flood stage (generally in the spring) which effects the road into our property. If the road has water on it we can shuttle you in with our truck so your glamping adventure won't be effected.

Other things to note

We are located in the heart of St. Louis' best boating. You are welcome to bring your kayaks, canoe, fishing boat, pontoon boat, or jet skis (we have a private boat ramp to the River). We are also in St. Charles County farm country which is popular among bicycling enthusiasts.

We Provide

Clean sheets, pillows, comforters
Towels, hand towels, wash cloths
Coffee and drinking water (in our outdoor kitchen)
Camp chairs, picnic table, fire ring
Outdoor kitchen with charcoal grill, gas grill, sink and microwave
One evening campfire (additional firewood available)
Friendly guest service
Free Wi-Fi (best accessed by the outdoor kitchen)
Pond and River access
Central Location to all St. Louis and St. Charles County Activities
Additionally, you will have use of our canoe, and kayaks (2).

Weekend Retreat
We have 4 kids and were looking for a quiet and relaxing anniversary weekend getaway. The cabin fit the bill! We loved the nightly fires in the fire pit. We went canoeing in the canoe provided and went fishing on the dock. Lee was an attentive host who thought of everything we might need! We will be back!

Not My idea of Glamping
I’ve Glamped in many places but this is not glamping it’s more rustic camping. I would not recommend it in the dead of summer at all for the shed site is not insulated and doesn’t cool off till after the sun goes down or temperature goes down. Also be prepared to walk through weeds for the path needed to be sprayed with round up or weed eated down even the stairs into the shed had weeds growing out of em. Toilet house was fine, out door showers on other hand needed help. No lighting in em whatsoever, and no dry space area to dry off at and dress, you literally find yourself wrapping up in a towel strutting back to your cabin or toilet house to dress. Had a great time but wasn’t worth the money spent for glamping.

Beautiful & peaceful!!
We had a wonderful time glamping! Lee was a wonderful host who offered up his vehicle when we had car troubles! You will NEVER find that kind of generosity at other campgrounds! We will definitely visit again! St Charles was very close and had all the night life activities you need!!

Beautiful and so much fun!
When my sons requested a cool place to sleep on our annual family adventure, I couldn't believe my luck in finding Glamping St. Louis! The site is beautiful and pretty easy to find! Lee was so accommodating and everything was just like the pictures! There was a tree house for the boys to play in and the pond right out front! We felt right at home while there and highly recommend this to everyone!

About the host

Hosted by Lee Crockett

Host profile image
As avid sailors we have owned 15 boats and cruised Mexico's Sea of Cortez with our young kids. We have backpacked through Europe and hiked and camped throughout the U.S. Now that the kids are grown, we acquired the River Island Marina and set out to make it a comfortable, family friendly, and trouble free experience for our members and guests.

We started Glamping St. Louis with a single glamping tent and have expanded to six unique glamping sites. We have hosted over 200 couples and families from across the country. Our guests come to get away for a weekend, celebrate an anniversary, or are seeking an alternative to staying in a hotel while visiting St. Louis.

Some of our guests spend a weekend just sitting on the deck and taking in the natural beauty of our pond or the River. Others visit the many tourist attractions that St. Louis has to offer. We offer a unique experience in nature without the hassle of pitching the tent or sleeping in a wet sleeping bag.

What makes this property unique

The location. Seclusion, privacy, romance, and adventure, yet we are five minutes from the nearest Walgreens and about 30 minutes from the Arch.
