The good: Great location, very clean. Kitchen well equipped , a nice fridge, freezer, microwave, range, pots, pans, silverware, and utensils. A nice balcony with beautiful view of ocean. Bed large & comfortable, AC worked well. Decent TV (Minus 1/2 of a star for being so miserly with items for a continued stay: only 1 DW tablet for a week stay, 1 garbage bag, 1 oz of dish soap, 2 rolls toilet paper, 1 washcloth in bathroom, etc. Guests should not have to purchase a whole bottle of dish soap and a box of laundry tablets, or a box of garbage bags).Most important though is a terrible safety risk that completely negates what could have been a very wonderful stay: We saw a sign on the inside of the patio door that says "If you close the doors from outside the unit they will lock and you won't be able to get back in" We said Let's not do that! Next day went outside with a beer and accidently closed the door! We were there for over 2 hours. No one came by the back of the place so we could ask for help. I climbed in the planter across to all the other units. No one was in any of them. It was 10 feet down, My phone was locked inside with emergency& VRBO info. Called Algarve Holiday lets, no one answered. A man went to reception, they said they could do nothing because privately owned. Finally, we picked the lock with a Swiss army knife and it opened! Front door the same! Traumatizing! They know! Old people like us could die out there. BTW, leaving doors open lets in mosquitos!
