A lovely cottage in a beautiful, peaceful setting. The cottage had all we needed. Very comfortable beds. The location was perfect for us. Good walks around Loch Long. A short drive into Dornie and lots of other activities and walks. Nice pub and cafes in Dornie. Not far from the Skye Bridge. We did lots of exploring and had a great holiday.
Das Ferienhaus ist sehr schön mitten in den Bergen gelegen. Innerhalb von 20 min ist man auf der Isle of skye.

Ashburn Cottage is located several miles along Loch Long and the views are just outstanding. The cottage is wonderfully kitted out and the sitting room in particular is just lovely; full of atmosphere. We went on many walks in the local area but one of the best was leaving the front door and just walking along the loch and into the mountains. Absolutely fantastic even in the pouring rain! Great to come back to the cottage after our days out knowing it would be warm and cosy. The owners are clearly very thoughtful and the cleaners very thorough. We rarely return to where we've been before but would love to return to Ashburn Cottage one day.

A nice house, not directly located where we thought it would be and no direct access to the water, as one might have thought from the pictures. Yet we felt very well and spent a week full of exciting tours and new impressions of the highlands. The house was nicely furnitured, especially the rooms in the first floor. The kitchen was well equipped and as we couldn`t stay outside because of the mosquitos, we used the open fire place a couple of times which was very cosy. So thank you for a wonderful week in a lovely house.

Well equipped, very clean, spacious and comfortable holiday cottage in a rural setting.
Well equipped, very clean, spacious and comfortable holiday cottage in a rural setting. The cottage is reached by a single track road, c. 2 miles from the main road - no immediate neighbours, no noise, no light pollution. Poor mobile phone reception but good internet access.
There are lovely views from the living room and patio across the loch to the distant hills. The living room has a cosy open fire place for cooler evenings.
Excellent location for hill walking in Kintail, day trips to Plockton and Skye or for getting away from it all.

This has been one of the best views we've ever had in a cottage over the course of at least 10 years. Unfortunately this will be the last time we go to this cottage, this is purely because I have limited mobility. The stairs from the car to the cottage were way to much for me, which meant that my husband had to move everything from the car to the cottage by himself. The parking spot itself is fine.
The fireplace was fantastic. The only downside we encountered is that the downstairs bedroom has very little room to hang your clothes. Especially if you wear dresses and/or suits.
Having said this, I do not regret going to the cottage and recommend it to everyone who does not have mobility issues.

Great cottage in fantastic location, only a 5 minutes drive from the main road to Dornie and yet secluded and quiet. Just the perfect spot to explore Scotland and return home in the evening and enjoy the lakeview while sitting in front of the fireplace. Very well equipped kitchen which makes cooking a joy. Doors and 1st floor are a bit dangerous if you're 6,5 feet tall but I got used to it quickly ;-)
If we return to Scotland one day we can definitely imagine to visit Ashburn Cottage again!
