The access is via a typical Cornish narrow road with beautiful scenic views of the sea peeping out through the hedgerow on approach.

In the heart of this small Cornish hamlet, the barns (refs 30108, 30109, 30110 and 30111) are furnished and fitted to provide a comfortable base from which to explore the many attractions that Cornwall has to offer. Each barn has a well-equipped kitchen as well as open-plan living. Each has its sitting-out area, which is ideal for watching the wildlife and al fresco dining. Each property also has access to electric car charging points which a charged for use however if you require using the charging points you must bring your lead. There are no local amenities as it is in a hamlet, but only a 5-minute car journey to the local village; we suggest you look at the welcome folder in the cottage to familiarise yourself with your surroundings and to discover what amenities are local to your stay.

This barn has the private use of a hot tub, but please note the first night the temperature may not have quite reached its optimal temperature due to the replenishment of fresh water post cleaning the tub. Each property has access to the enclosed garden with picnic tables and a sea view.

Guests are close to the coastal path and if you walk north, you will reach Tintagel, the mythical home of King Arthur, with its array of shops, pubs and restaurants. A little further on, Boscastle with its picturesque harbour is a must. A small beach can be reached on foot, approximately ½ mile away. Travelling down the coast, guests will come to Port Isaac, where the TV series ’Doc Martin’ is filmed, and further down the coast, visit the beautiful sandy surfing beach at Polzeath and the dunes at Rock where you can take a ferry across to Padstow. From Padstow, with its working harbour, shops, pubs and restaurants, you can hire bikes and cycle the Camel Trail to Wadebridge and beyond to Bodmin.

Close by is Bodmin Moor, an unspoilt moorland at its best, and for walkers the tors on the moor are a must. Further down the coast is Newquay, with its famous surfing beaches, Blue Reef Aquarium and Zoo and if you travel to the south coast, you will find Looe, Fowey and Mevagissey, just a few of the charming coastal villages. For cycling enthusiasts, there is a cycle hub at Lanhydrock, with some wonderful forest routes to be taken. Shop, pub and restaurant 2½ miles

Quite Simply Superb

The Wild Rose Cottage was amazing, exactly what we'd hoped for, only better. The area of Treligga is well off the road, so incredibly peaceful and quiet. We'd driven past the turning 100's of times, but on finding the cottage on our first day we knew we'd made the right choice. It was spotless, with everything we could need. The only thing that I could say wasn't quite to our liking was the firmness of the mattress's, but we didn't let that ruin our stay. Fiona, who looked after us, was lovely, a close neighbour, who helped with anything we needed and was on hand to answer any questions that we had. The late addition of the Hot Tub was gratefully appreciated, my wife and daughter taking full advantage of the unexpected addition. We can't wait to revisit the beautiful cottage in the future!

A brilliant place from where to explore North Cornwall.

A brilliant place from where to explore North Cornwall. Lovely house. Very quiet. Lots of beautiful walks and views. Friendly landlords. It's worth noting that the property has quite a sizeable fridge-freezer, so you can just stock up for the week and not worry about meals.
