Enclosed lawned garden with patio, BBQ and garden furniture. Private parking for 3 cars. No smoking.. Situated within the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, these carefully converted barns now provide two beautiful holiday cottages in a secluded, south facing, courtyard setting with stunning, uninterrupted views over Ryedale. Riccal Heads (ITS) has a large dining table which can seat 10 people, perfect if both properties are booked together. The area is excellent for both walking and cycling and the picturesque villages and quaint market towns await exploration. Hutton le Hole (1½ miles), is home to the Ryedale Folk Museum, giving an insight into traditions of the past, Helmsley

(10 miles) has a weekly market, an abundance of traditional teashops and the historic attractions of Duncombe Park, the Walled Garden and Norman castle ruins. Easily accessible is Dalby Forest with its 9 mile scenic drive and an award-winning visitor centre. The North York Moors Steam Railway offers a step back in time and a leisurely way to enjoy the scenery. Departing from Pickering

(10 miles) it passes through Goathland and Grosmont on its way to Whitby, with its stunning coastline and ancient abbey. Nunnington Hall, Castle Howard and Rievaulx Abbey are close by and the historic city of York just an hour’s drive away. Riding and golf available locally. Shop 5 miles, pub ¾ mile.

This was our second visit to Riccal Heads cottage. Again the cottage was clean, warm and contained everything we could’ve needed for our stay.The local area is beautiful with lovely walks to villages.I’d highly recommend this cottage for a break to get away from it all!

The cottage was absolutely lovely! There was so many little touches that made it, for example there was a bread maker and dry ingredients which meant we had fresh bread one morning! We was greeted with milk, wine and flowers!! The cottage is decorated beautifully! Would definitely recommend! :) Lovely location and scenery! The local pubs were great too! A great cottage in a wonderful location. We had a great weekend getaway. Just a shame that the cost for a weekend was almost the same as would be for a 7 night stay. We still had a wonderful time though. The bread maker and ingredients to have freshly made bread each morning is a real selling point. We'll definitely be back.

We had a lovely week in this cottage. Our only regret was that the garden was not dog proof for our 9 month old puppy - but this is our fault not theirs. We were very lucky with the weather as it stayed dry all week. Will definitely return when it is a bit warmer! Thank you

This is our second visit to Riccal heads. We are a group of friends and the layout of the property works very well . As bedrooms are at separate ends affording some privacy. We had lovely weather. This property is great if you like a quiet holiday
