A beautiful and very comfortable cottage in a very quiet location near to Buttermere and Whinlatter

A beautiful and very comfortable cottage in a very quiet location near to Buttermere and Whinlatter Forest. The cottage was very well equipped and are a day on the fells was a warm and cosy place to come back to.

Lovely location in a picturesque village on the quiet western side of the Lakes.

Lovely location in a picturesque village on the quiet western side of the Lakes. Easy drive to Cockermouth or Keswick for shopping and other amenities. (Though there is also an excellent village shop). We were there during a very busy, and unusually sunny, bank holiday, but were able to walk from the cottage straight up onto hills, and didn't see any other walkers. The cottage is small but very well equipped.

the cottage is very well equipped, lovely decorations, spacey kitchen (with really everything you need and more...) and living room, very cosy bedrooms. There is a large parking space, and really everything is there to make your stay a succes : hairdryer, dvd's, books, games etc. The shower works excellent in a nice and spacey enough badroom.The location is excellent, very quiet and yet a 15 min.drive to Cockermouth (shops!) and 20mins from Keswick and Honister, Buttermere etc. The local village shop is marvellous, a real bonus, friendly people and local products. Wifi works brilliant, we have only one minus : tv reception was a bit poor at times, we had quite a lot of disruptions, to be fair we never contacted Cumbrian Cottages because we thought it would become better and we didn't watch telly that much. Maybe something to look at? Overall very,very happy and we look forward to return!

Ideal for walkers or cyclists but need a car.

Ideal for walkers or cyclists but need a car. Whinlatter pass and Forest nearby. On Western edge of Lakes near Crummock Water, Buttermere and Loweswater. Cockermouth 10 mins one way and Keswick 15 mins the other.

Lovely cottage with great views.

Lovely cottage with great views. Excellent location for seeing the northern lakes. Whinlatter forest is only a few mins drive and has a nice cafe and lots of walking trails. Cottage very well equipped with everything we needed in the kitchen.

Fantastic week, heavy snow a bonus.

Fantastic week, heavy snow a bonus. Good situation for walking, the weather was bright and clear. The cottage was warm and very well equipped. I found the bed a little soft for my comfort. Great laundry room and freezer. Don’t like Friday starts, so had to miss a day as we weren’t able to travel till Saturday as our Grandaughter was still at school
