Serene Ocean-Front Condo at Menehune Shores - Unit 520 - Steps from the Ocean!

Aloha and welcome to Menehune Shores Condo 520!

Enjoy the ocean breezes in our fifth-floor, oceanfront condo. While we do not have artificial air conditioning (AC), refreshing trade winds typically flow naturally through the unit. The only approved condenser location would occupy the private lanai and release heat that would make this favorite outdoor space far less enjoyable, so we’ve chosen to preserve it for dining, relaxing, and taking in the spectacular ocean views. Whether you are staying for a few days or a month, you’ll find everything you need for a comfortable and memorable stay.

Our two-bedroom, two-bath condo features a fully equipped kitchen, in-unit washer and dryer, Smart TV, Wi-Fi, and a private lanai where you can enjoy both sunrise and sunset. Ocean views can be enjoyed from the kitchen, living room, and makai (oceanside) bedroom. You'll also have access to the rooftop deck—an ideal place to barbecue, take in 360-degree island views, and watch for Maui's famous "green flash" at sunset. The condo also includes cable television and complimentary parking for one vehicle.

Menehune Shores is a beautifully maintained, oceanfront complex with lush tropical landscaping, a heated swimming pool, and direct beach access just steps from the elevator. You'll enjoy the convenience of being right on the ocean while remaining only minutes from Kihei's restaurants, shops, and local attractions. Menehune Shores is also hotel-zoned, meaning it is exempt from Maui's pending 2030 short-term rental phase-out and will continue to offer legal vacation rentals.

Kihei is the perfect home base for exploring all that Maui has to offer—from the summit of Haleakalā ("House of the Sun") and the rolling landscapes of Kula to world-class snorkeling, surfing, and windsurfing. Visit historic Wailuku and ʻĪao Valley, drive the breathtaking Hana Highway with its 57 bridges through lush rainforest, or simply spend your days relaxing by the pool and enjoying the ocean just outside your door.

Overall a great stay! Affordable and a wonderful location. Only downfall was how hot the unit got without AC. We were expecting the windows open and ocean winds at night would cool it down a bit but even with all the fans, it still was around 80 at night (same as during the day) in the condo. Not the hosts fault because they did advertise accurately just something to know if you are used to AC! Wonderful little beach for kids and if you need an affordable place to stay and are used to warmer weather, this is a great spot.

This condo is wonderful! The views were spectacular, and it was amazing falling to sleep at night to the crashing of waves. The location is perfect, the beach can be walked in both directions for quite a ways. Directly in front of the condo complex and to the north is a protected area frequented by sea turtles. It is a nice area to snorkel and watch them.

Great Family Place to Stay

Property was as nearly exactly as described in the post and the perfect launching point for our Maui trip! Almost anything we needed was quick drive away but some places could be walked or biked to easily. Pool was refreshing after days at the beach. Owners were very accommodating with a late check-out b/c of a late flight departure!

We had a great time here! The unit was just as shown in pictures with a wonderful view of the sunset. The host graciously let us have a late checkout so we could get showers and laundry done before heading to airport. There's is no AC in this condo, so we probably would come back next time in winter when nights are cooler. Tried the on site restaurant our last night and it was really good!!!

This condominium was our father's home. Now his daughters and granddaughter continue to love this condo. The surfboard on the wall is his granddaughter's first and is very special to her. She is currently working in Florida, so not spending much time in Maui. The sisters get to come spend time occasionally. We hope you enjoy our condo as much as we do.

Why they chose this property

Kihei is a great location with excellent beaches and parks as well as shopping and restaurants. It is located across the isthmus from Kahului and the airport - close enough for convenience, far enough to be away from it all.

The unit has a comfortable layout with great ocean and beach views. It is surprisingly private for being part of a small resort. There are the small conveniences of in-unit laundry, trash chutes so you don't have to haul trash to the ground floor, a book exchange on the third floor, as well as the big items - the rooftop deck set up for barbecue-side dining while enjoying 360 degree island views and the best sunset in town, lovely pool and grounds, the trade winds, and of course, being RIGHT on the water without crossing the highway.
