About this property

The Granary, Hacheston

A stylish barn conversion, set in a beautiful and peaceful rural location in Hacheston, yet just under half an hours drive from the coast and with some of the best Suffolk restaurants and pubs nearby. Set within its grounds is also a tennis court, croquet lawn and table tennis, making this the perfect rural retreat for a long weekend or longer stay for families or a group of friends, at any time of the year.

And the end of a busy day, The Granary is just the place to relax in. The barn is light and bright and has wonderful open countryside views. A large open-plan ground floor living space with full height tri-folding doors on one side floods the ground floor with light and on cooler evenings you can light the wood burning stove and snuggle down with a good glass of red (or two!). Upstairs there is a king-size bedroom, a twin and a further double bedroom on the first floor all boasting wonderful rural views, along with a family bathroom. Downstairs there is a ground floor shower room and large utility space, perfect for storing boots and coats after a long countryside walk.

Set in an idyllic, get-away-from-it-all private location, The Granary undoubtedly offers somewhere to chill-out and wind-down in and is a comfortable base from which to explore the whole of Suffolk. From here you have easy access to local beaches of Thorpeness, Aldeburgh and Southwold and some beautiful coastal and rural walks with many opportunities for bird and wildlife watching. Visit historical Framlingham with its fantastic castle and the ancient market town of Woodbridge, or eat and shop 'til you drop at Snape Maltings.

Great location

The owner of The Granary had been away for a couple of weeks and only returned halfway through our stay so no one had cared for the plants in pots which looked beyond redemption and we suspect that less care had been put into the preparation of the cottage. However the cottage is very comfortable and ideally situated for touring in the Woodbridge area.
Response from VrboOwner on 24 May, 2022
Thank you for taking the time to pass on your comments following your recent stay at The Granary in Hacheston. We agree that it is in a great location for exploring the area, heading over to the coast or going further inland. We have noted the comments you have made about the standard of preparation of the cottage prior to your stay and will discuss with both the homeowner and the housekeeper. We hope we can welcome you back to Suffolk again in the future
