Orchard Cottage offers an extremely comfortable, well equipped and picturesque base from which to explore the many delights of North Norfolk. We particulary enjoyed walking in and between 'the Burnhams' and visiting the superb beaches at Brancaster and Holkham. This was our first visit to this area of outstanding natural beauty, it won't be our last!

Spacious house in the country
Lovely well equipped spacious property in the countryside. Far enough away from the hustle and bustle of Burnham Market, but easy enough to get to.
A wood burner would be a much better option than an open fire, and some updating needed in some rooms (primarily kitchen and bathrooms) to make the property more accessible for all ages.

Lovely cottage
This was one of the best cottages we have had in many years of October holidays. Everything you could possibly need was provided. Beds very comfortable, lots of space, hooks on the backs of doors (! - not always provided), good lighting, seats outside front and back. Generally excellent. The only quibble was the rather poor shower arrangement in the master bedroom. Altogether we would thoroughly recommend Orchard Cottage - and the local pub is very good too.

Great cottage for large family with pet dog in lovely quiet location
This was our second weeklong stay in Orchard Cottage. Even though the weather was unremittingly dull, we have had a very enjoyable week. The cottage is spacious and has a large enclosed lawn at the back, which makes it ideal for dog lovers. Its location is in a quiet village, near enough to Burnham Market, Holkham Hall and Wells-next-the -Sea to enjoy their facilities, yet far enough from the madding crowds; and the Lord Nelson pub has reopened after several years of furlough. There are some easy going walks in the immediate area, though one requires transport to get to more interesting hiking terrain. Our only complaint is that we haven't been able to retrieve property that we left behind at the cottage, despite repeated requests over the past 6 weeks, which we presume is a fault of Norfolk Hideaways rather than of the owners.
House was lovely and had lots of space for everyone. Location is superb and we didn’t have to travel far to visit many attractions.

Beautiful Large cottage
We stayed at Orchard Cottage in August. This was our 2020 holiday that had to be postponed because of covid regulations - a big thank you to Norfolk Hideaways for handling that so well.
The cottage itself is absolutely beautiful. So large and comfortable - it was perfect for 2 families holidaying together. The separate snug worked really well for our children to use. There's everything you could need. The village and surrounding area is beautiful - there are great walks from the doorstep and lots of places to explore within easy walking or driving distance.

Great location and house in a rural setting but within easy access to all local beaches.
The house was good for us and our son plus 2 grandchildren. Kitchen facilities first class. Lounges gave plenty of room. 3 of the 4 bedrooms were lovely. The fourth one downstairs is very small. The garden had plenty of space and has a table and chairs for eating outside.
Lots of space for car parking on the driveway.
Overall a good location for a family holiday. We did raise a concern that both the kitchen sink and en suite loo had not been cleaned properly before our arrival. We were assured that this concern would be addressed for future guests.

Holiday review
An excellent cottage, both in location and comfort. A world away from ikea furniture - there were lots of lovely details, warm and welcoming rooms, loads of hot water.. and room to spread out. Have already re booked.

We couldn’t fault the cottage, brilliant staycation.
Beautiful location ( although rural setting so be prepared for early morning cockerels). 10 minutes from stunning beaches.
Beautiful cottage, everything you require, very comfortable, lots of space.
Felt privileged to be allowed to rent such a lovely home. Definitely return.
