Two km from the medieval Chateaux de Brie and Chateaux Mont Brun, both of which are on the route of Richard the Lion Heart, it is within a few km of Chalus where he met his demise.

Restaurants
3km/ 5min drive will take you to the Chateau Montbrun which has a charming restaurant/bar called La Taverne with a lovely garden set in the middle of the countryside, ideal for early evening drinks or evening meal. A friendly Relais is just 3km down the road serving set menus and a La Carte for lunch and dinner. In Chalus, Champagnac La Riviere and Oradour Sur Vayres the local towns you will find a variety of restaurants and cafes.

Local Amenities
Chalus which is about 6km away has two Boulangeries and two Supermarkets (Inter Marche and the Eco Marche), Post Office, Banks, Newsagent etc also a market every Friday.
There are a number of lakes for swimming and boating with sandy beaches, the nearest being Espace Hermeline in Bussiere Gallanct with the exciting Go Ape and a Zip Wire across the lake, childrens park, crazy golf and more. Then there is St Mathieu with many of the same facilites all within 10-20 Kilometers.
At the old railway station in Chalus you can hire bikes and trailers of all sorts to suit all of the family where you can enjoy a great time cycling on the Voie Vert.

Festivals, fetes are held throughout the Summer.

Notable places to visit Brantome the Venice of the Périgord, with great canoeing facilities, Piegut Pluviers market on a Wednesday and the Grotte de Villars all within 40 min drive. Parc Bellvue is well worth a visit if you have younger children. There is also the historic towns of Limoges and Periguex to visit.
