About this property
Boulder Finest Downtown AND Mountain Location – Garden Apt. at Historic Home
*The Space* Our garden level apartment is the first floor of a immaculately restored 1890s Victorian. The apartment has a varied and wild history! At varying times it was a Sufi ashram, a beatnik hangout including the likes of Ram Dass and Alan Ginsberg, a flophouse and even a reported cult dwelling. Now, it's yours for a few nights.
This 650+ square foot apartment is a few steps down from the front entry and has been renovated with a new kitchen, bath and lighting. The floors are recently refinished and windows on three sides allow for a warmth of natural light.
High quality furnishings provide comfort. The cozy bedroom includes a comfortable queen bed with luxury linens, pillows and blankets for all seasons. Blackout shades make for a dark night sleep. A large closet includes plenty of hangers, luggage and clothing storage and ironing equipment.
In the living room, a section sofa with chaise provides comfortable seating and converts to a double bed with all linens. A large 50" HD television includes premium cable with Bluray DVD player. Log into your Netflix account though the television if you wish (and log out on your departure).
The kitchen has full size appliances, including range refrigerator with ice maker, dishwasher and garbage disposal. Plenty of coffee and tea making options are provided.
The bathroom features beautiful, bright tile work and a full size shower tub with plenty of solar heated water. Soft towels are near at hand.
For young families we have a Pack-n-Play crib and strap in highchair. Just ask in advance.
*Guest Access* You're welcome to use the apartment and come and go as you please. There's a lovely stone porch just out front with a table for two. On pleasant days, enjoy your coffee or take in the evenings and unwind in one of the finest cities and neighborhoods our country offers.
*Interaction with Guests* As needed for assistance.
*The Neighborhood* We're three blocks from the Boulder Creek Pedestrian/Bike Path that courses through the city (Boulder is often ranked as the most bike-friendly city in America). The acclaimed Pearl Street Mall (pedestrian) is seven blocks away. Boulder's 40,000+ acre open space with endless hiking and trails cuts through the backyard. The panorama overlooking the city is about 20 minutes up the trail from the house (about 300' elevation gain). We are also a short bike ride from the University of Colorado (but fortunately far away from student housing!)
Getting Around
The apartment is conveniently 1.5 miles from the main Walnut Street main RTD bus station (although a bit far for walking from after a long trip with luggage). Local buses come within four blocks of the house. The bus from Denver International Airport stops at the University about 0.8 miles from the apartment. We are three blocks from the closest city-wide bicycle rental kiosk and taxis or Uber/Lyft are readily available.
*Other Things to Note* Our apartment is a legal rental in the City of Boulder. We insist that you respect our home, neighbors and community.
The apartment is not appropriate for guests who require a level entrance. From the street there are about three steps up and five down. The apartment is not wheelchair accessible. Sorry.
Guests under 25, please look elsewhere.
We have kids at home (no crying babies, thanks be!). You may hear them after school or our poodle, but it'll be modest and never during normal sleeping hours.
The apartment is surrounded by 18" thick stone walls. It stays quite cool all summer even without air conditioning. Colorado evenings, even in the summer, are usually quite cool. Fans are provided if you'd like some circulation. For the winter, you have a separate thermostat dedicated to the apartment and there's a portable humidifier to combat Colorado's dry air.
In Boulder, we recycle and compost. Receptacles for all are provided and there's easy access to the outdoor bins.

Stayed for the entire month of May, loved every minute of it!!! Super awesome location, great amenities, great host. The unit was perfect size for 2 people. Bathroom is a little small, but that’s the only slightly negative thing I can say. I would definitely stay here again without question.
Thank you Seth and Jessie for sharing your beautiful home.

Very happy you enjoyed your stay! It was a pleasure to meet you, and we’d welcome you both back anytime!
In our property description, photos, and included scaled architectural plan of the apartment, we work hard to accurately depict the sizes of rooms, including the bathroom. Being an 1890s structure, the bathroom is limited in space - still inducing a full size tub/shower, toilet, sink, and storage cubbies. Future guests can look to the provided materials in the listing to fully understand the features and scale of the apartment.
I had an amazing month in Boulder and so much due to this wonderful

Perfect, Comfortable, everything found
Very comfortable garden flat in a good location with plenty of street parking and convenient for a pleasant walk to Pearl Street. Full size kitchen and laundry with even “the little things” included, thoughtful. Cool in the hot weather without the need for air conditioning, and, heating too for weather changes (we experienced both). Seth and Jessie responsive to questions. Overall an enjoyable stay in a pretty neighbourhood. We would stay again.

Very homely property with good support from owners
The accommodation had retained so many period features from late 19th century but with modern upgrades in the bathroom and kitchen. The utility room was useful for storing baggage as well as having the washer/drier. The kitchen was very well equipped and there was lots of storage within the accommodation. The owners were very welcoming and responded quickly to any requests we had. The location is close to Pearl Street and the bus service. It is a very quiet neighbourhood with lovely houses and well maintained gardens. Our grandchildren loved the swing when they came to visit. We would be pleased to stay in this accommodation on our next visit. Our younger grandson (4 year old) wanted to live in the house.
