The house was very welcoming and well equipped. The bathrooms and kitchen sparkled. The views of the water were great. The host (and his wonderful brother) were accessible, kind and helpful. We had a wonderful week.Thank you!
Our Host Dave was very easy to reach and was able to accommodate a particular request. The location was perfect, right at the water and close to everything needed.
Thanks Dave 🙂
We enjoyed staying in Pictou! It has a wonderful museum
on the harbor, about the first Scots voyage to Nova Scotia on the boat Hecter. We also got to go to a great concert at the newly renovated auditorium just down the street. This VRBO is close to the ferry crossing to PEI and we enjoyed outings to The Museum of Industry in New Glasgow and Antigonish both closely.
Could not ask for bertter. Perfect ocean view location in a
great home. Super clean and comfortable. Owner very
pleasant and accomodating.
Would not change a thing. Thanks
We were attending a Family Reunion in Pictou and our son Bruce, a former Pictonian, and his family needed a larger space and an extra night. The house was perfect for them, and they received excellent service from Dave and his brother. It was our first time using Vrbo, but it won't be the last.
My husband and I owned a vacation rental for many years and we took great pride in ensuring that our guests were able to enjoy our place to the fullest. This home met our standards and then some. First, our owners were communicative and met us at the home to show us about and answer any questions we had. The home was not only immaculate and welcoming but it had practically anything we needed to cook our meals. We loved coffee on the porch that looked over the bay. We watched bald eagles, herons and other sea birds go about their morning routines. The town is utterly delightful with lots of great spots for meals. The waterfront has lots of activities and local vendors as well. We loved the Hector Museum and honestly, we were in awe of the pride and volunteer efforts of the locals. A nearby and lovely walking path leads you to where the Hector and it's travellers landed and established the town.
We took some lovely day trips but be aware, Nova Scotia is bigger than you think. Check out the Tidal Bore in Truro, go to Tatamagoosh for the Saturday Farmer's market and head out EARLY to check out Halifax and Peggy's cove. It's close to Prince Edward Island and we enjoyed a ferry ride there as well as the best lobster roll EVER! We wanted to check out Cape Breton but that would have been another big drive so decided to spend that day enjoying Pictou and were glad we did. Pictou is a wonderful town with delightful people and this VRBO was just perfect.
House was lovely. Ideally located. Within walking distance to many shops and local businesses. Enjoyed watching daily the two bald eagles that nested nearby.
The house is in a great location and it is by far one of the best properties we've stayed in. It was absolutely superb. The best and most relaxing holiday we've had.
House was very clean and very good for two couples. Owners were excellent with communication. Great takeoff point for us for day trips. Highly recommended.
Dave was phenomenal to deal with; very quick with responding both when booking and once we were at the property. The property was within walking distance to almost all the areas of Pictou (museums, restaurants, stores, and little bakeries) as well as a short drive to Caribou provincial park beach. A bonus was the ice cream shack at the end of the street near the water that sold freezies; our 3 year old made us go daily. We will definitely book again if we journey back to Nova Scotia!
Thanks for sharing your beautiful home with us!
What a great location!
The house was perfect for the four of us, with en suite bathrooms, a big dining area, and a well equipped kitchen - but the front porch is where you want to be when you're not out exploring Pictou and the surrounding area.
The town itself is great, lots of history and a variety of restaurants (watch for some that are not open Mondays/Tuesdays).
In less than 15 minutes, you can get on the ferry for a day trip to PEI, or, in a couple of hours in the other direction, you'll be on the Cabot Trail on Cape Breton. In between there are lots of great little towns to visit, along with several lighthouses. If you like sunrises, head up the road a bit to the Caribou - Munroes Island Provincial Park - you might even see some seals!
Dave's a great owner and communicates clearly, and made everything simple for our trip. We really enjoyed our stay!
This was a wonderful house and met our needs fully. The landlords (Doug and Dave) were very accessible and helpful.

Month September rental at the home
This property I would recommend to anyone looking for a rental. The home is centrally located, completely stocked, rented with another couple and the two bedroom, two bathrooms, and tv’s in the living room plus a tv in each bedroom was just great. Great rental property
