Smooth Sailing is an elegant oceanfront vacation home with a spacious layout. There are five master suites with private bathrooms plus two bedrooms with two queens in each. The upper level is bright and open with a large kitchen with seating for five, a great room with TV, dining area seats ten, a sun room with a table with seating for four and access to the deck overlooking the ocean. The middle level features a sun room and a den. The lower level has a game room with pool table plus an extra full size fridge. Outside is a private pool and hot tub and large furnished decks. There is something for the entire family at Smooth Sailing, including your four legged family members!

The perfect location in the heart of Nags Head means less driving and more relaxing. Close to fine dining, shopping and attractions. Close to Roanoke Island, home to The Lost Colony Outdoor Drama, NC Aquarium and Kill Devil Hills, sight of the First Flight and the Wright Brothers Memorial to teach everyone about the life altering event in US History. Also just minutes from a well known landmark that supposedly got its name since it was a well known horse racing spot. Spectators would climb to the highest dunes to view the races below, we now call - Jockey's Ridge. Visitors climb to the top, fly kites and even hang glide from this unbelievable sand dune formed by Mother Nature.

This is a good place to stay, right in the center of town of nags head with a lot of good resteraunts and activities for the children to do. The only down side to the property it is a little outdated. That being said it was still a clean property to stay in.

Inside and outside were very clean. PLENTY of spacious bedrooms and living space. Everything was in working order, ready upon check-in, easy check-out. Very close to grocery store, restaurants (we enjoyed Mama Kwan’s fish tacos, the Beachcomber Tiki Hut hidden behind the Ramada on the ocean, & Swells’a Brewery), and tourist attractions like mini golf, Jockys Ridge and the Wright Bros Memorial. Would definitely recommend and would stay again! Thank you for a wonderful vacation!

The location is great & it has all the amenities, (I.e. pool, hot tub, pet friendly, private beach access, many master bedrooms), that we look for. Our first experience with Beach Realty was great. They are very friendly, professional & quick to respond.The only reason for 4 out of 5 stars on general condition, is that some items need to be replaced/upgraded/fixed, (I.e. hot tube jets very weak, ground level fridge missing shelves, gas grill has extreme grease build up). The main kitchen fridge was replaced (new) while we were there.Overall, a great vacation week for our family - Thanks!!

Best house in 34 years of coming to the Banks!

Reviewer Comments: We’ve been coming to Banks with our children and now our grandchildren for the past 34 years, and this is the best house we’ve ever rented! The rooms were amazing and big - lots of masters with not only bathtubs AND showers, but walk-in closets as well. There were extra rooms as well - for games or reading or a temporary office. The way the extra rooms led to the decks was ideal as well - no bedrooms disturbed by people hanging out late on the deck. Also, the outdoor shower was great - the showerhead worked great (not all rusty and only giving a trickle). The location was perfect - in Nagshead but close to Kill Devil Hills. We could walk to lots of our favorite places (Kill Devil Grill, Tortugas Lie, Harris Teeter, Helen’s and various ice cream places).We will be back!

I loved all the different sitting rooms, and playing pool provided some fun during the rain. The location of the house was great, it was close to stores and plenty of places to eat, including a great candy store and fudge store. The pool was very clean, but cold it was really needs to be heated. We brought our golden ret. who loved the beach as well. There were a lot of stairs, and the worst part was the the entrance to the beach had no stairs, but a steep stand hill. I think there may have been stair at some time but now it's just covered it sand. This was a problem for some of our family. Other than that I would stay here again.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: You mostly choose a house due to amenities and location. This house has the location but lacks the amenities that is states on the description. Example, the hot tub does not work, so if you like a lukewarm tub, you are good to go. But if you are looking for a real hot tub, then this place is not for you. Also, there is a lot of sand around the pool, and past guest have used it for their ashtray. So the sand was nasty. The rooms are large and it is nice to have the amount of king sized rooms. The house has a lot of potential for niceness but its average.

Wonderful vacation home

Our group of 14 -- grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins -- had a wonderful week at Smooth Sailing. The kitchen is extremely well-equipped, the beach views and proximity are fantastic, there is lots of room for everyone and the management company was very responsive to all our questions. Highly recommend.

Great Place

We had a great time at the place. We had always stayed in Duck, but this year we went to Nags Head. There is much, much more to do along with grocery shopping less than a mile away. The pool was fine and the 2nd floor access to the beach was easy to handle. We loved the high chairs on the top floor porch. The place was well stocked with plates silverware and glasses. The only problem we had was that the week we were there, the temperatures were well into the 90’s and the air conditioner on the 3rd floor would not hold the set temperature. In the morning it would be back to the set temperature. We called and they were responsive and somebody did come out. Also the pool light in the pool was out and they sent somebody out to look at it. We hadn’t noticed it until the end of the stay. We would definitely stay there again.

Good house for family vacation

House is adequately stocked with kitchen utensils we needed. However, the finish on the dining room table is overall sticky. Possibly wrong kind of paint was used, we used a sheet as a tablecloth.Unfortunately the rental price increase may dictate that we seek another house for next year.

Great location. Very spacious house. Somewhat strange layout, but accommodating. The check-in process was terrible. We were told we would be contacted to check-in and never received communication. We finally just showed up and the house was ready. It would have been nice to know further in advance given we were traveling with small children.

Beach access is easy.The refrigerators were very old and missing shelves in the doors and shelves. They both are in desperate need of replacement. The freezer in one of them doesn’t work well and the fridge in the other freezes in the fridge section.Almost all of the power outlets are loose and do not maintain a connection.The desk had many nails popping up and some of the slats were loose.Kinda weird to have sand surrounding the pool, makes it impossible to keep clean.

The sand dune hill at the end of the walkway from the house was difficult for the three of us that are almost 80 years old to negotiate. The young people dug it down somewhat and it appears that under the sand there is more walkway and some steps. If you could dig more sand out that would be great
