Main Level: As you enter our cabin, you will find the great room with plenty of seating, stone gas fireplace (seasonal) which is wonderful to snuggle up to on those cold mountain winter days, fully stocked kitchen with a regular 12 cup coffee maker AND Keurig maker, microwave, crock pot, blender and more, and the dining room. The 2 master bedrooms with queen beds have their own En Suite private bathrooms. Great for 2 couples!

Lower Level: The lower level offers a bunk bed (twin over twin) which is perfect for the kids. There is additional seating on our large sectional and watch your favorite show on our large flat screen TV with ESPN.

Outside: You can relax or have your favorite meal on our large covered decks. After a long day of hiking or shopping, you will definitely want to relax in our soothing hot tub on the lower deck and take in the breathtaking views! Did we mention that th views are phenomenal and stunning? You will never want to come inside after spending time with Mother Nature. Your dogs (maximum of 2 under 40 pounds) can roam stress free in our large fenced yard in the back.

At "Almost Heaven", we believe that nobody should be left behind. Why leave your pet at home when you can bring them along for the adventure. Well behaved dogs weighing less than 40 pounds (maximum of 2 dogs) are welcome for a 1 time nonrefundable pet fee of $125 per dog plus tax (sorry, but no cats allowed). If booking on a 3rd party website, you will need to contact High Mountain Cabin Rentals and get management approval and to pay the pet fee.

The access roads are paved and easily accessible (4x4/AWD is highly encouraged and recommended during the winter months). This is a great location for local shopping, hiking, skiing, canoeing, fishing and exploring! "Almost Heaven" has all of the comforts of home and you’ll want to come back year after year to our cabin and Ashe County.

Important Notes:
***The cabin is access by paved roads. However, you it may be necessary to have 4X4 vehicles with tire chains during the winter months.
***The owners use outdoor surveillance cameras to ensure that their home remains safe. No cameras monitor the inside rooms of the home.
***There is no land-line phone in this cabin. Cell phone coverage is not guaranteed. The home does have WIFI so you may be able to call using WIFI calling.
***No Smoking inside the cabin
***Minimum age requirement is 25 years old

As you plan your trip to the mountains, please remember we do get rain, snow and some foggy days and occasional inconveniences which are out of our control. Winter weather in the Blue Ridge Mountains can occur from November through April. The majority of our homes are accessed by mountain roads, which will be icy in winter weather. For the safety of you and your party, please be prepared to drive in snow and ice. This means 4-wheel drive, good tires, and chains. It is your responsibility to be prepared for hazardous road conditions.
