PROPERTY DESCRIPTION
Casa Britto is an elegant residence situated on a hillside with spectacular views of the Central Valley, a 15 minute drive from the center of San José, the capital city of Costa Rica. Two large terraces provide shade to the façade permitting natural ventilation to keep the house cool during the warmest of days. Casa Britto has been furnished with great care combining antique and vintage pieces with top level design to create an exclusive and homely character. The property features a large number of spacious social areas, each with its own atmosphere and style. Next to the heated pool there is a large wooden deck, a small rancho and a grill area with a gazebo for shade. The gardens have been designed with a great variety of flowers, plants and trees. Winding paths lead to the upper garden passing colorful flowers and fruit trees to a larger rancho with breathtaking views.

We had a great stay with our 13 people strong group.The house is very spacious and ideal to accommodate a larger group of people. We had some people over for dinner and we still had plenty of space to accommodate everybody comfortably.The kitchen is very generously equipped and we enjoyed the barbecue and pool area very much. Cristina did a great job in maintaining the place.All appliances worked well and the beds / bathrooms were very comfortable.Regarding the bedrooms, I would like to make two observations. Maybe we oversaw these in the description: 1. One bedroom is only accessible through another one 2. One bedroom is adjacent to the kitchen and doesn't have an outside window.The experience was fabulous and I highly recommend this place.

incredible view and gardens

This house is beautiful, well maintained, with incredible gardens and view. the only draw back is the lack of bathrooms for the number of beds....one of the bedrooms off the kitchen is awkwardly located, and another is across the entire house from a bathroom. The staff is delightful, Christina is a good cook, and everyone was super helpful in arranging outings for a 3 generational family. We had a wonderful vacation at Casa Britto.

Peaceful oasis

We had the best stay at this beautiful house with great views. The house is so spacious and beautifully furnished. The heated pool was a huge hit. The manager and team were fantastic. Before our stay, they helped us with finding a car rental company that would bring the car to the house the morning after our late night arrival. They arranged transport for us from the airport as well, with booster seats for our girls. The manager met us at the property and everything was smooth and easy. We also selected a menu for a meal which Cris prepares for us and it was outstanding! We loved everything about the house and the experience and would stay there again.

Casa Brito is amazing!

Casa Brito was the ideal location for my family in Escazu, Costa Rica. We arrived to the house around 2pm on July 14th, 2017 and immediately felt at home. Our group included 11 adults and 3 children. The heated swimming pool was the highlight for the kids. The adults loved the open floor plan. The house had seven bedrooms, which offered privacy for each occupant while still allowing us to all be together when desired. The amazing views of the city (Costa Rican Hollywood) and the modern amenities make the house the perfect choice for a large group. And last but not least, Laura was our cleaning lady this trip and she made an amazing trip, superb. She is absolutely exceptional. I offer the highest recommended for Casa Brito and we will be back next year. Ps. The fruit trees and garden are wonderful.

Memorable and relaxing

We had plenty of space for 4 guys. We spent most of our time in living room or balcony. The sound of the fountain and architecture of the house made it peaceful. You have the full view of the city. The staff were helpful and communicative over WhatsApp. We asked for messages and coordinated with professionals familiar with house. There’s a bit of travel to and from San Jose or sure but it’s worth it. Always tell driver to follow the signs and the street has white stones lining the roadway. Be patient and enjoy everything the house has to offer. Best place for group of guys or families. The weather was nice and cool like central AC. Chili at night. Take long pants and long sleeves. Just in case. Will definitely come back.

Christina was always available if we needed anything. The house was cleaned regularly. The kitchen had everything you need for meals in. The house seems a little remote from other areas of town, but we were able to get Uber without difficulty. There was some evidence of deferred maintenance, especially around the pool.

Paradise - a magical home away from home

We were a very diverse family group of 12 - ages 11-70 - and Casa Britto was absolutely perfect for us. First, location - the Central Valley is totally under-rated as a home base during your Costa Rica stay. The weather was always fresh, never hot, and the location is central to so many day trips within 1-3 hours - coffee plantations, national parks, volcanoes, zip lines, and the beach. The house itself is incredible. So beautiful and well-finished, but at the same time as comfortable as home. Spacious but cozy. Beds so comfortable. There was easily enough space for 12 people to hang out together as a group or separate into smaller sections of the house with the privacy to enjoy quiet time and reading. There are many smaller sitting areas throughout the house and the outdoor areas to enjoy with sub-groups. For our entire stay we lived a seamless indoor/outdoor life with the doors and windows flung open , as one is able to do in the moderate Central Valley climate. We had one issue with the swimming pool heat (you do need heat because the nights are cool) but the owners promptly rectified the issue with a repairman, even though he was called the day after Christmas. The only minor nuisance is that the next door neighbor seems to have about ten dogs that sometimes act as alarm clocks at the crack of dawn, but that is to be expected to some degree throughout the country, and after a couple of nights it was less noticeable - and the barking was for minutes, not hours. We would highly recommend hiring the cook, Jasmine, who prepared a dinner for us one night - absolutely delicious food and a joy to be with her. And a very reasonable price. The housekeeper Cristina was also very helpful with connecting us to local services - we needed a doctor/pharmacist for one of our family members. From the beginning, the owners were very clear and helpful about the process of getting to the house from the airport and other details that needed to be worked out before and upon our arrival. Usually on the last day of a vacation, you move to the "it'll be nice to get back home" phase. But here, we really didn't want to leave. Highly recommended.

Spectacular views, big and superb house/garden

We stayed in this wonderful, comfortable home end of April 2017 and it had everything we could want or need. The house is located in a quiet area of Escazu, on a hillside overlooking San José and the Central Valley. The house is very well arranged .Superb and big garden, swiming pool. Glamour and hospitality max

We had a wonderful family reunion at Cassa Britto. The house is beautiful: clean, spacious and stunningly decorated. There is a pretty garden, a very relaxed pool area and two large veranda's with fabulous views over San Jose. The photos really don't do justice to the space. Antonio and Marta are excellent hosts and we quickly struck up a warm relationship with them. They were attentive to our every question and requirement and went to almost embarassing lengths to resolve our the internet problem we encountered (through no fault of theirs: the problem, it transpired, was with the provider). Antonio did actually go to embarassing lengths once he discovered that some of our party we cyclists. Antonio himself is a keen rider and has a great knowledge of the local rides, which, given that San Jose lies between two mountain ranges, are both challenging and spectacular. Not content with arranging road rides for us, Antonio was able to fix for us to ride the beautiful Pargue de la Paz velodrome, definitely one of the highlights of our holiday. If I were pressed for a criticism of the otherwise perfect Casa Britto, it would be that having three bedrooms without en-suite facilities share one bathroom can make long post-ride showers slightly contentious. But this is a small drawback for an otherwise great house. I can quite safely highly recommend Cassa Britto.

My retreat group loved our stay at Casa Britto.. The home, the furnishings, the view, and the help that the owners, Zeida, David and the rest of the crew gave us every day starting with guiding us there, was top-notch. From the beautiful pool area and three dining areas (we couldn't believe the furnishings and artwork), to the roof and upper garden paths and the Zen little covered "lookout" with fireplace (amazing for meditating or yoga), we found our days at Casa Britto positively enchanting and I definitely hope to return. A Beautiful Paradise

We had a beautiful and memorable stay at Casa Britto. The house was lovely, with amazing, expansive views, ample space for many people and a great staff. David took care of us inside, Pablo kept the grounds beautiful, and Zeida was the gracious host and perfect person for any question you might have. The main living area was perfect for hosting a party and the dining room was large enough to seat many. The house is expertly and beautifully decorated throughout. There are two decks off the front of the house that were great for breakfast and just hanging out. There was a fun little deck house up through the trails behind the main house - we called it the lookout house where we spent a lot of time relaxing and drinking wine. It had a grill, fireplace, seating and best of all, a spectacular view of the San Jose valley. Watching the New Year’s fireworks from there was an experience that we will never forget. The pool was nice and warm with plenty of lounge seating. The flora all through the property were a wonderful surprise. We weren’t expecting such a beautifully maintained and well thought out maze of gardens to explore. It was really very special and unique. Without hesitation, we would rent this property again. The owners were so gracious to our family. They were always responsive to any questions or concerns we had and were very easy to work with during our entire stay. It met all of our expectations, and much more!

Breath taking views , wonderful property!

The property was gorgeous and perfect for a big family. Plenty of room for everyone. The kitchen is well stocked we had a bbq and everything was there for us to cook. The pool is awesome and has a great fountain. Each bedroom is nice and the master is excellent with its own bathroom and Jacuzzi tub! I highly recommend this property, we will be back in the future!

Luxurious property set in beautiful garden

We had a wonderful stay in Casa Britto! The residence leaves nothing to ask for. It´s set in a beautiful tropical garden overlooking San José and the Poas volcano. We had company by the hummingbirds and butterflies around the poolarea, and the pool was heated which we really appreciated. The kitchen was well equipped with a restaurant-size gas stove (my husband can´t stop talking about it) and the jacuzzi was soothing after our zipline-adventures in the rainforest. Great vacation and entertaining home

We celebrated our son's wedding rehearsal dinner at Casa Britto. The house was superv. The heated pool was enjoyed by our guess. The house overlooked the valley and the views were amazing. Casa Britto - A lifetime of great memories!

My wife and I got married on April 18th, 2015. We decided to accommodate all my cousins and extended family at Casa Britto (12 adults and 4 children) for 4 nights. We also held our pre-wedding family dinner at Casa Britto for 40 persons, catered by the chef recommended to us by the owners Antonio and Marta. Everything was perfect! All our families rave about Casa Britto and the lifetime of fantastic memories they have from their shared time there, and the pre-wedding dinner! Antonio and Marta took care of every detail, with excellent support with logistics from Zeida and Pablo. We would highly recommend Casa Britto to anyone hoping for a similar experience. My family hopes to create more memories in the future with another stay there!
