Oceana Sunset - Beachfront family friendly home with amazing ocean views

Thank you for choosing Oceana Sunset and for your feedback which we view as a gift for improvement. Unfortunately, you stayed during Perth’s coldest winter’s night in history. Based upon your feedback we purchased an additional 2 portable electric heaters, to complement the existing gas heater in the downstairs living room and the extra blankets (located in every bedroom’s wardrobe) that we already provide to our guests. Additionally, we are currently reviewing the possibility to use the Stayz online payment facility. For your reference the bank charges to return the bond were AUD 18. Oceana Sunset has hosted many guests since 2010 and as part of our post-stay communication process we follow up with guests by communicating in our written correspondence that: ‘we hope the amenities of the house were sufficient for your needs, but we would appreciate any suggestions on how we could improve the ‘experience’ for repeat or future guests. Many guest improvements have come from guest feedback over the years, so any suggestion, even small ideas on what we could do to improve our guest experience would be greatly appreciated.’ After reviewing the comment in your review ‘that the house requires a lot of maintenance’ I followed up a couple of times requesting additional information on what you felt required maintenance but received no response, which was unfortunate as we view customer feedback as a gift for improvement and part of our commitment to providing our guests with the best possible stay experience. We are committed to maintaining and improving Oceana Sunset and since 2011, have employed a handyman that provides 8 hours per month of general maintenance around the property and have employed a gardener for 8 hours per month to maintain the extensive gardens on the 2,375 meter block. Each year we have a budget for maintaining and enhancing the property as an example in the first 6 months of 2021, we have replaced the oven and rangehood in the kitchen, replaced the motor of the automatic garage door, replaced the submersible pump for the reticulation & irrigation system and replaced 6 inside ceiling downlights. In previous years, we have purchased and replaced all of the carpets, purchased and replaced all of the vertical blinds, purchased a replacement leather sofa, purchased a replacement fridge, purchased a replacement barbecue and improved the outdoor kitchen area, replaced the ceiling fans and had the inside of the house professionally painted. This is in addition to the numerous smaller things that need to be repaired or fixed on an annual basis due the challenges of the coastal environment combined with general wear and tear and or guest damage. We are very proud of our 78 reviews and our ‘Wonderful’ guest rating and sorry to learn that you felt that maintenance was an issue.
