The Gatlinburg Chateau is situated just over a block from the main street of Gatlinburg. We have free wireless internet. There is an outdoor seasonal pool and hot tub for your enjoyment and relaxation after a day of visiting the area. Our location is conveniently within walking distance of Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies. This unit features two bedrooms, each with a queen bed. It also has a queen-size sofa bed in the living room. The kitchenette consists of a full-size refrigerator, microwave, Coffee Maker, stove, and oven.

Decent location, very dirty

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The biggest perk of this rental was the location- about a ten minute walk from the strip. While that was nice, the property itself was not clean. There was a used washcloth in the shower upon our arrival, the bottoms of our socks were black from walking around. It seemed like the floor had never been cleaned ever. The freezer was dirty and had an old bag of ice from a previous guest. There were cobwebs galore. For the price we paid, the place could have at least been clean. Overall, a disappointment and wouldn’t stay again.

The fireplace didn’t come on due to the pilot light being off- I made a call and Kevin sent someone over quickly to relight it. When I needed to go back inside after licking the door the final time, Kevin unlocked the door remotely! This is a great unit and super nice people to work with. We will absolutely stay here again!

Reviewer Comments: The inside of the place was absolutely beautiful, extremely well kept, comfortable and spacious... there is a swimming pool while on the smaller side still nice as well as a hot tub out back that was very nice... the individual decks out back are a wonderful little place to have a cup of coffee and watch the sun go down... nice and private... employees and managers are polite and friendly, nice and helpful... it was a great little stay and I look forward to going back

Spent a week there with my wife and friends. This was a very nice and comfy condo. There is a king bed in the master that takes up the whole room, but its nice having a king bed. The view of the strip is awesome. The view of the fireworks on NYE was amazing. Condo could use a few more updates but overall it's very nice.

Reviewer Comments: Adorable condo, ground floor with private patio and beautiful view of downtown Gatlinburg. Negatives were the floor had not been mopped so had to spend a lot of time looking for slippers to purchase. Small roach like bugs came out in kitchen at night. Otherwise it was comfortable. For guest flying, you will need to purchase hangers. I also recommend you get some hand soap and extra paper towels. No place for suitcases if more than 2 people but have dressers to unpack your stuff and then can put cases under bed or in small closet. It is within walking distance to town, but only if you are in good physical shape as there are approximately 50 stairs and very steep hills going down, coming back is a long uphill hike with about 50 stairs to climb. A good workout, but not for everyone.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: After tax we paid $250/night for this place & definitely didn’t feel it was worth that by any means! The room was cute, a little 2 bedroom/2 bath condo, but there were many problems. The 2nd bedroom dresser has a handle missing which made it extremely difficult to open that drawer for use, the master bath towel caddy had screws sticking out where they are trying to fix rather than replace & boards falling off on toes, the shower mat is so cheap you almost fall because it slides, bedroom door won’t latch therefore couldn’t completely close the door and worst of all THERE WERE ROACHES!! I have pictures & a video. Paying that kind of money you wouldn’t think you would have to deal with roaches. Yuck!

Bad experience with this rental experience

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We started to this property at around 8 pm with my Family and kids. I was unable to locate this property in the Friday night, initially I though this is a individual home , because they never showed the outside of the property. Since I am unable to locate the property , I called the rental company for about 10 times they never picked up my call , and did chat and there is no response.I made my wife and kids sit in a near by shop and I started roaming all around to locate the property. After couple hour search , I found this property with chateau rentals which look like a hotel and not individual home and tried the lock code on the room number provided to us. This was a very bad experience for me and my family waiting outside in the cold for more than 2 hrs, I hate this company who never worried about customer and never picked up my call. They even did not called me back even after I checked out. Otherwise the room was clean with room and a sofa bed in the hall.

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE!!!

I booked this property as a short stop on our way home from FL, so we could stop for a few nights & celebrate my daughter's birthday rather than being in the car the entire day. I contacted the owner with a question about automatic payment on the day it was due. He had no problems responding to that question, but the communication stopped there! I messaged the owner again on our arrival date telling him I had not received check-in info. I did not get a response as we were making our way there. We arrived around 8 pm and still had no check-in information or any way to access the rental. I messaged and called the number on VRBO several times, but no answer and option to leave a voicemail either. I then went to what appeared to be the office of the building and saw taped to the door an emergency number to call, but again no answer. We had been traveling for 8 hours and had no way to get into the condo that we had already paid for. After waiting an hour without any response, my husband decided to walk around the property to see if there was a manager on site. He did not find one, but happened to run into the maintenance man that was waiting for an elevator repair person to arrive. After showing the man our VRBO booking, he was kind enough to give us a master code to access the unit. I am absolutely appalled that I NEVER got a response from the owner. The ONLY reason my children & I were not left to sleep in our vehicle is because of the broken elevator and maintenance being there on a Saturday evening! In addition to the check in issues, once in the unit it was filthy! There were massive hair balls in both bedrooms, our feet were black within 5 minutes of walking around, and there were bugs. On the 2nd night of our stay a spider even crawled across one of the pillows in our bed. We ended up leaving a day early because we could not take the nastiness of this unit another night! We have been renting through VRBO for over 7 years and I have NEVER encountered problems, let alone ones of this magnitude!!! Before leaving I contacted the owner yet again to notify him of the cleanliness issues and to let him know we were leaving a day early. Of course once again, no response. The owner never even had the decency to message and apologize for all the inconveniences, even after check-out!! I do NOT recommend booking with this owner or staying at the property. This was the absolute WORST stay we have ever had through VRBO!!!

I liked that the front desk called me to on the way in to let me know the room is ready early and that I can go ahead and check in. Other places charge for early check in. They seem to run a great business. It's awesome to be able to walk a short distance from my hotel and access so much!

Just somewhere to lay my head

Pictures make you think the bench is at the front door when it is at the back. The pillow on the bed I slept on was thin, not comfortable at all, the sheets had a rip in them, we found roaches in the kitchen, we only had 8 towels for 3 nights and they were thin and sandpaper feeling.
