The main reason people come to Ironbarks is to do nothing other than relax... Reading books by the fire, going for walks in the native bush, practicing your golf, chasing Kangaroos (good luck!), or spotting birds.
Ironbarks is a quiet place. The sort of place you come to if you want to have some time to yourself, either alone or as a group.
Relax on one of the decks and choose from a number of beautiful views; the glimmer of Mt Tarrangower over the farmland in the distance, or the Australian native bush that surrounds the property. Perhaps you will be enjoying a bottle of local wine that you picked up at a winery visit, or contemplating a day spent in a nearby town.
You may like to take a walk to one of the dams, and try your hand at yabbying, or just watch the animals and birds whose home we share. Early risers are especially well rewarded if they get out for an early morning walk. You can finish off a perfect day by dining under the stars.

Thank you for inviting us into your beautiful home on 100 acres . We were both very relaxed by going for a walk around your property and listening to nature . My favourite part included sitting by the nice warm fire .The house was very clean and a very short drive into Dunolly . Communication with the host was excellent.
Beautiful location and a great house for our needs. The host warmed the place up for us before we arrived which was a great touch. Highly recommend this house for exploring the goldfields region
We had a wonderfully relaxing and comfortable weekend at Ironbarks, we all want to book in again for a week next time - there's so much to explore in the area, and more time to relax and enjoy the tranquil bush surrounds and house. Thanks for a great mini-break!

We're glad you had a great time. Your most welcome back anytime.
Beaut farmhouse with lots of room to spread out.
Really appreciated the air conditioning in each bedroom and the comfy beds.
Great spot to explore the natural environment and see local wildlife.
Extra special to be able to pick and eat the tomatoes, grapes and strawberries straight from the plants.
The hammock on the deck was a great hit as well.
A wonderful location with a well equipped house, which provided four adults the space and comfort for an enjoyable week long stay. A great base to explore the Goldfields area. Hopefully, next time we visit the weather will be more conducive to enjoying the great outside entertaining areas. Thank you.

Thank you Debra for your great review. We are so happy you all enjoyed your visit and hope you can return. On departure you left Ironbarks in top condition.
Amazingly restful break, felt like we were 1000 miles from everything but in reality, so close to everything. Large farmhouse, spotlessly clean and welcoming to furry friends. Owners were so responsive and made booking easy. Lovely warm log fire already crackling away on arrival, thanks to our wonderful hosts and everything you could possibly need was at hand. Spectacular area, backing onto state forest. If you are after a break where you can just chill or a base for more local adventures Ironbarks has it in all.

Like finding a unexpected gem. Thanks Rick for your responsive communication. Wished we made it to site before sunset to appreciate all on offer. Well appointed and adequate heating options. A memorable stay for the family.

Thanks Robert hopefully you can return and see the beautiful sunset
Well-appointed farmhouse in the middle of a vast property. I could hear the stars it was so quiet at night. Great escape from our busy lives and just enjoy the family and our dog in the great outdoors. Only did one trip out to the shops during our stay as the house had everything we needed. Our dog did not want to come home either! Thank you for such a wonderful experience.
Thank you so much! We had a fabulous time!
It is a 2nd trip back to the farm house, which again exceeded our expectations!!
It is an amazing place, very clean and well equipped!
Nicki the Manager was an excellent support and shared with us some great local places to visit!!
She is a great ambassador for the property and the local area!!
Thanks so much again for a great weekend!!
Cheers Robyn
We stayed a week over Easter and had the most relaxing, amazing time.
The bedrooms/beds are very comfortable, there is heating and cooling, in and outdoor fire place, large cosy house. The kitchen is very generously stocked with everything you may need for cooking and to serve it on. We saw Kangaroos near the house every day, there is so much space to walk or ride your bikes.
I can only recommend this place and the communication with the owners was very easy. We hope to be back. :)
What a fantastic, well set up and cared for, property. The house is huge with lots of space in most rooms. It has everything you could possibly want - pantry items, kitchen appliances (coffee machine!), books, information, torches, binoculars, laundry, two toilets and showers, a fabulous bath, plenty of windows to watch the wildlife and absolute privacy.
Two large verandahs made packing and unpacking the car a breeze whether raining or not, and they're great spot to relax of course.
Other highlights include creeks/dams full of frogs, swallows and blue wrens nesting just outside, lots of space to walk in any direction and plenty of tracks through the surrounding forest.
We loved all the historical towns and sites, prospecting options, national parks, beautiful scenery in the neighbourhood and further afield. Melville Caves was fabulous. There's also larger towns not far away.
On top of that, we were allowed to have our greyhound inside with us and we were looked after really well when the bad weather and flooding hit the area.
We can't recommend this place highly enough. Wish we could have stayed longer than 9 days.
What a magical spot. This is a quintessential Australian bush experience. We went for walks around the area and sat by the fire at night. I booked the night for a birthday getaway and they even left me a delicious cup cake with a candle in it. I couldn't have had a better night. I'm definitely keen to stay longer next time
Had a great time at Ironbarks Farmstay once again . Can’t get enough of this place for it’s position and inviting home like feel . Whether it be for a romantic couple weekend or family getaway retreat it’s just fantastic . Highly recommend it to anybody that wants to get amongst our beautiful Australian forest and wildlife and experience our tranquil environment . Thanks once again
The peace and serenity was just what we needed to recharge. We found it hard to leave, and could have done with at a few more nights. We enjoyed exploring, quietly watching the kangaroos and listening to the sounds of the bush. The hosts have provided everything you need to be self-sufficient. We were comfortable and felt very relaxed. Sitting by the warm fire was very relaxing after a day spent exploring the beautiful landscape. We are looking forward to staying again... for a week next time.
Truly in the middle of nowhere, no other dwellings to be seen, a mob of kangaroos grazing in view of the living room window at sundown on arrival day. Our group of friends found what we were looking for. Total quiet in a comfortable house with a fire place and excellent creature comforts as well as a very well equipped kitchen. It was lovely to walk into a warm house as the hosts had made sure a heater was on as we arrived. The fire was set ready to be lit. If you’re like us, just needing a bit of timeout with friends, you won’t want to leave again. Forget plans to go exploring beyond the gates. So make sure you bring all the provisions for your stay so you can stay put … Thanks very much to the hosts from all of us. Cheers Silke
Ironbarks was perfect for our group which consisted of two families. The property was clean and well stocked. The beds were comfortable and the living spaces were roomy, we never felt on top of each other. The kids had a great time riding their bikes around the property. Great place to slow down and relax.
Fantastic mini break, kids and fur- kids loved exploring. Beautiful location, beautiful house! House has everything a family needs, and the outside exploration was fantastic. Thank you 😊
A beautiful place to unwind and relax in the country. Away from the hustle and bustle of city life.
